Hmmmm...
What statuses does the Ribbons protect against? (or which ones does it *not* protect against?)
Hint: Ribbon grants immunity to 11 statuses (I'll accept 9). 5 Statuses are not hindered by Ribbon.

Hint: Ribbon grants immunity to 11 statuses (I'll accept 9). 5 Statuses are not hindered by Ribbon.
The five that are not hindered are:
Curse, Death/swoon/KO/Smakked, Confuse, Charm, Beserk
So how far off am I? Let's see what it does protect against:
Poison, blind, mute, piggy, toad, And that's all I can think of. It's late...

Ribbon protects against swoon (magical death, for example), and curse.
Confuse and charm is the same thing ^-^.
No, I meant like dying cause you get hit for 2000 when your max HP is only 1000. Ribbons dont' protect against that.Quote:

That would be one helluvan item if it would prevent the wearer from dying! :)
But since a physical death is not a "status" (as in status-inflicting weapon), the physical death is not counted in the list.
It doesn't protect against Float, Regen, Wall, Haste, or Blink...?
Aaaaaw... technically, you're right, but...
- I may be wrong, but I don't recall anything able to regenerate something (maybe in the monster's spells?).
- In FF4, Haste and Slow are not considered "statuses". They merely change the speed of the character (or enemy), which is a byte separated from the inflicted status bytes.
- Wall and Blink cannot be associated with weapons/armors. That means that "Count", (Jumping), (TwinCasting), (Charging), (Parrying), (Egg), "Stop", "Paralyze", (Weak), (Covered), "Blink", "Barrier", "Wall", (HP Leaking), and (Hiding) cannot be inflicted upon a character/enemy by using a weapon, nor can the character/enemy be immune against them by wearing an armor/protection. Normal spells cannot inflict them either - special spells using different subroutines are used for "Stop", "Blink", "Barrier", (HP Leaking), ......
So that leaves 16 statuses. That includes "Hold", which (somehow) is different from "Paralyze" in FF4.
So if you check this post with feioncastor's, the answer will be easy.
Good news: since abrojtm's answer was technically right, if he begins his next post with "I love FF4", he will win. Of course, he can choose to continue... ^-^
Good luck everyone! (long post, I know)
Hey, does anyone know what tellahs last name was? Did he even HAVE one? Ditto for the twins. I'm just curious.
According to the FF4 Settei Shiryou Hen (one of four books released in japan), they don't have last names. Rydia doesn't have any official family name, though "Drake" seems to be popular among fans :).
And btw, abrojtm, you can ask the next question...
Drake? What the... Some fans can be so weird.
Thought Rydia of Mist was actually her official name.
Well, Rydia of Mist is like saying Zyrthofar Blackcloak of Moaning-Plains, or, say, Jesus of Nazareth... Oh well...
I too consider Rydia of Mist to be the official name, but if I have to give her a family name, I would go with the current tendencies ^-^.
FuSoYa's family name is BouTaYa, but since I just made that up, consider it a joke of ill taste :S...
Helen of Troy, too, lost her family name to be remembered through the ages by the place she was from. That's sad, imho.
I think Joan's family name really was "of Arc" (D'Arc, in french)... anyone knows for sure?
Let's keep this thread going, please.
OOC: People didn't inherit surnames until long after the death of Jesus. If they did have a "surname" it was basically their father's name shortened or changed slightly.
abrojtm... you still have to ask the next question.
What's the next question? *lol* I didn't read every single page of this, but it seems very interesting! I can't wait to get a question right and ask a question! *lol* I'll probably ask a question that's already been asked. Hmm....*ponders* :D
