Some cool characters die. But I guess it adds to the story. (SPOILER)I liked Galuf way more than Krile.
Gilgamesh, pretty much.
(SPOILER)I nearly died laughing when I saw him in FF1: DoS.
THE AIRSHIP MOF#CKA!!
Either the quirky humour or the sublime job system.
i think the game as a whole was really ahead of it's time. so in general i like alot about it. i liked X-Death, too. not sure why alot of people don't, i thought he had an original backstory and was also funny at times.
The best bit bout ffv is clearly the pirate red mage... PIRATE RED MAGES FOREVER!!!!
Final Fantasy V has probably the best job system out of all the Final Fantasies.
I LOVED FFV for a number of reasons really. It is the best FF in my opinion. I love the way the maps merged in World 3, I loved the moogles of course! I loved all the witty banter, and I loved the challenges that the game brought as someone said before - the bosses were harder on this game than any other FF I can remember.
But my top reason has to be the music. I love the music on nearly all FF games, it's been my inspiration for a lot of my music writing, and V is one of the top of that list of inspirations.
Also the fact that I've completed the game 3 times and STILL never had the patiece to beat Shinryu. I beat Omega and X-Death on level 55 or so, but fighting Shinryu I just couldn't do! :D
The job system, colourfulness of the game and the witty, comedic demeanour of it. It was not meant to be a dark serious game like IV and VI. That's why it was so refreshing...
I also loved Faris - probably cos she's a lot like me :)
Wait, I don't dress up like a guy. Really. But anyway.
The job system is great, the translation in the GBA version also has some great dialog.
I love flexible job systems, and FFV has a great one. Its part of the reason I love FFT and I can even forgive FFX-2 for many of its other faults.
Also it has a transforming boat/airship/submarine. A lot of other FFs separate those into different craft.
I love the guy who stands outside Bartz' hometown and says "This is your hometown." Does he get paid to do that?
And wasn't there a dragon that sounded like an elephant?
Good times. :D
SNES:
It had helpful bugs to use as an advantage!
GBA:
Cool graphics and character mugshots.
