Can't you just press L2 to have the camera focus on your target? I do that with flying enemies.

The L2 thing I found by accident. I was also manually opening up my menu and targeting things to see all their information, and then I figured out you can just hit the left and right directional buttons to "lock-on" and see it :Oo:
