Its a shame that so many people are not thankful for what they have and when they do visit another place its such a culture shock if they ever get out of the egg shell of what they know.

Personally, I'm not at all amused by the stereotypes. I lived in England for four years, and that entire time I spent trying to show people that I wasn't a stupid, ignorant, boastful person. I actually had people try to throw things and curse out just because I told them I was an American. So maybe it is our faults that people think us stupid, but those of us who aren't are the ones who suffer for it.
Ummm...since when have I 'strictly adhered' to anything? I am who I am. I've had the same personality as far back as I can remember. One day someone at school suddenly called me an emo kid and it just sort of stuck and I just fell in to the 'emo' category by default. You can't expect anyone to change their personality just because it's seen as derogatory, and I'm definitely not just going to change who I am because people don't like me. Okay, so the word 'their' could be easily substituted for the word 'your' and it would have made more sense, then.
Saying that Americans aren't stupid is kind of like saying the British aren't ugly.
