I was pretty pumped up when I saw the first few trailers, but after reading reviews and seeing gameplay videos, I don't mind waiting a bit until a purchase.

No. It looks lame.

I wasn't excited about Final Fantasy XIII for the stuff I was reading, but searching for things about it brought me to EoFF which looks cool. So having not played the game yet its working out pretty well for me so far.
