I was in labor for about 17 hours and YES I had drugs. I tried to wait until I couldn't take the pain anymore, which was sooner that I thought it would be. But my contractions were so bad it made me get sick :( so i got an epidural and was numb from the waist down for the rest of the time.

Once you have contractions. You are not allowed to eat or drink anything...
Plus I semi surprised that they'd give you an epi... Normally as I've been told by Gyno Docs that when you are having your first baby, they avoid giving you an epi, unless circumstances mandate it...

I'm glad that your pregnancy went well and Mashallah your child is very healthy and blessed :D
