Well, that Androphilia book insists that "queer" already IS too baggage-laden and seems to imply an entire culture from which the author prefers to disassociate himself. Hence the drawing upon of the old Greek term "androphile" . . . and I have to say . . . the more I protest about how I won't go there because I fear it is too pretentious the more I realize I don't care . . . and maybe I should just go for it. I agree with the author that the image that comes to heterosexuals minds when they think of the words "gay" or "queer" are polar opposites of what I'm about . . . so . . .
