Unfortunately, Squeenix decided to take legal action and sue their asses into the ground.
Fortunately, the judge overseeing the case was a member of the Chrono Trigger: Resurrection project, having become interested in law shortly after the project was shut down by Square-Enix. He also did not have any love for Square-Enix because they broke his heart, ripped the pieces from his chest, tied each piece to kites made entirely of a superconducting metal (or something else very Ben Franky-esque), and flew the kites-with-heart-pieces in a very serious thunderstorm. He ruled in favor of the defendants and held Square-Enix in complete and utter contempt.
Unfortunately, Square, showing blatant disregard for due process, raided Nanapury for every cent they had anyway.
