What you like: I like the simplicity of the page, in that it's much cleaner than the old one (you should put an image up for comparison, so those that don't understand this great step forward do) and that there aren't ads in ridiculous places.
What you don't: As many others have stated, I'm not a fan of the dullness of the white on black look of the articles, and that it feels like a page of endless text scrolling downwards (in the content and the sidebars).
Ideas: I feel that there needs to be more of an obvious barrier between each article and each tweet, to stop the from just blurring together as lots of text.
Maybe some sort differentiation between article titles and the actual content (titles are given a coloured banner around them, or something, I dunno), so that the title stands out from the rest of the text. More images could help too. Same goes for the tweets, so that the content stands out from the other tags that are there.
Initially I wasn't sure what the categories were actually categores of, would it be a good idea to change that to "Article Categories" or something? Same thing goes for Games, I know that they are games, but what about them? Could "Games Guides" work better?
Just looking at the ads as a non-member, I think that it looks alright, but I'd rather have access to the links to access more of the site, such as the game guides, than see the tweets on the right. Could the advertisement be on the right, rather than the left? (also, there only seems to be ads on the front page, and not in the guides themselves?)
The ad in questions was an Amazon ad, which didn't look too bad, but do you have control on how the ad displays? If so it could be more worthwhile to have the price of each item appear next to the image of the game, as I'd be more likely to actually click it. If not, ignore this comment :P
Bugs: Can't find anymore bugs that haven't been found.

What you like:
I like that the front site now changes depending on skin, I like that there appears to be no bugs on this skin too
What you don't:
Ok where to begin and I don't want to sound too negative but: It's bloody boring, it really needs a different font for headers, Times New Roman won't cut it guys. Don't look at me like that it just won't. It needs images, lots more images and some extra colour to break up the monotony of brown. In the forums avatars, signatures etc all help break up the monotony but on the front site there isn't any. I think all articles in the front site much like they did on OMGMyGame should have a title image and images inside of them. Maybe work an extra colour in to the actual skin so it shows (just don't ruin the skin) a little more detail.
Ideas:
Read the above, I hate giving only negative criticism at a time so the positive criticism above should help..
Bugs:
none seen so far, will keep looking as things progress.
I clicked on it earlier. Should I fear for my laptop's integrity?
You might want to run Ad-Aware or something just to be on the safe side, but I dunno. Might depend how good your antivirus is. McAfee didn't find anything.
I went ahead and removed the first link too because if it's still redirecting people to that site then it could still be dodgy.
Jesus christ I never thought I'd have to worry about the links I clicked on here at eoff
The redirect from Google search results is a prevalent vBSEO exploit, and pretty much every forum using vBSEO has been affected by this recently. As far as I know, nothing truly malicious has happened. Hackers just trying to steal traffic.
Anyway, good feedback so far, dudes!
In that case, don't worry, we have a lot of that kind of stuff intended. :D
Also, I have collated what I can, let me know if I've missed anything.
Feedback so farFeedback
Structure and Advertising
- Need to look at moving the ad on the left of the articles.
- Advertising only appears on index, not in game sections.
- Advert on left covers the left side menu in Opera.
- Try to get the sidebars to be a little more even.
- It's a long scroll to get to the bottom.
- Widen right sidebar so that Twitter stuff is displayed better (ie, don't have 'favourites' on it's own line).
- Consider width of Aeris Reborn - time to get this set to 1024 pixels, surely?
- Consider the number of games in the games menu - possibly adjust it somehow to something that fits into the page a little easier.
- Need header area for articles, possibly including avatars for people submitting content.
- Similar to the above: Need a more obvious barrier between articles.
Colour/Images/Font
- Need more images!
- Need to colour in the currently black background behind text for articles (in Classic styles).
- Consider replacing banner on EoFF Classic style.
- Consider background images, potentially different ones depending on the game being viewed.
- Consider whether no 'clear' columns could make Kupo! style seem messy.
- Consider using images instead of text to link to game sections.
- Replace JPGs with PNGs.
- Avoid Times New Roman.
Functionality
-Comments do not work- Fixed
- Happy Noodle Boy clicked on a character portrait and got redirected to forums. Will need to check over links, possibly worth a focused feedback thread for this at some point to ensure that they are all working as intended.
- Having to go to a new page to read comments/full article annoys chionos (as much as I'd like that, it's a no-chancer as far as I'm concerned... vB isn't that good yet! :p)
- Bring back the 'Latest threads' links on the frontsite.
- See if it's possible to collapse Twitter widgets.
Content
- FF Artwork from community.
- FF YouTube videos.
- Promote some good blog entries related to FF.
- Featured images for content.
Miscellaneous
- FF:TSW lists character genders as scallywag/wench.
- When clicking into the frontsite, the Forums tab is still highlighted as if you were in the forums.
- Some old articles/news entries still have HTML showing.
- Ordering of tabs could use a change.
- Consider renaming "Neptune Spire's Inn" to "Timber Maniacs".
I'm trying to figure out what enemies I should steal from while in the Shinra HQ. I go to the walkthrough here to hopefully find the information I need. I find this page and when I click on the link that takes me to Shinra HQ, I am actually taken to the front site.
I don't use classic style often but i think replacing the banner is ridiculous, because then it wouldnt be classic anymore and I thought the point of classic style is for sentimental old sods who cant get with the times.
Not just artwork BoB, community things in general.
Don't worry about that not being in the feedback summary - we already have a lot of intentions & ideas regarding the frontsite's future content. Loads~ We're more concerned with the look at the moment.
I think you'll find that the banner is not the first nor the second nor the third of the banners to be used (Leeza created the banner three years after EoFF was created), and competitions to replace it have gone on before, in 2006. :) We just never found the right one so kept the old one. Maybe we will find a good new one someday, but if we never look, we'll never know!Quote:

What you like: Like the rest, I don't have much constructive to say
What you don't: As has been said many times, white on black is a bit of an eyesore. I found that the Kupo! style actually works one of the best due to the consisntant colour scheme making everything mesh a little more together
The sidebar I think seems a little bit too...simple. It doesn't really catch the eye. I think it maybe due to the font.
Where have the enemy images gone :[ Admittedly I only checked the FFVI boss section, but didn't we used to have smallscaled avatars for each boss/monster? I thought that was a really good idea.
As a final thought, should we have Plot Synopses for each FF. I know we have the story page which gives the blurb of the game, but I'd think the full story might be a useful edition
Ideas: See the above really.. I don't like being so negative D:
Bugs: I found none
