Yeah I cross my sevens.
This. I didn't even learn to write until I was nine and I probably have better handwriting than most of you :colbert: all my letters and numbers are easily distinguishable as what they are. Especially if there are both letters and numbers. So "oh well they look similar and if I'm writing letters and numbers together" is no excuse. When doing calculus I make a very slight dash inside the circle near the top as I'm drawing it so it's distinguishable as a zero but not dumb-looking. Also 0 is skinny and O is plump anyway. 1 always has a base and that extra little dash thing at the top, but it stand up straight so it's easily distinguishable from 7, which is slanted and doesn't have a base. Plus I draw 2 with the little curly at the bottom so it's distinguishable from Z. Take a calligraphy course or something, jeez.
Then you are wrong :doublecolbert:
I cross my zs and my 7s, i think it looks nice :D
I cross my sevens. I also write fours like an actual 4 instead of that open-top version they seem to teach the kids these days.
But what really riles me, I mean what will actually make me instantly sever all contact with you, is when I see you do your Zs like Ʒ. That's not a z, its a smurfing well-hung 3. You're not cool for using it.
:doublecolbert: (SPOILER) [img]http://home.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/heart.gif[/img]
People who write Z's like 3's should also be slaughtered.
Also, I had hoped that this thread was going to be about visits to Wales (albeit badly spelt), and am sorely disappointed.
No. I hated my teachers who did this. I've been taught one way to write. Why the hell are you writing differently?
I dot my i's and cross my t's and A's and F's and f's and E's and e's and G's and H's and line-cap my T's and I's and J's sometimes and underline my L's.
I do not cross my sevens or zees.
I will occasionally cross my zeros and also add the top and base to a one if I feel there is a potential for confusion, otherwise I don't bother with those, either.
Edit: For some reason I will add the top and base to a capital I at the beginning of a word but not in the middle of a word.
I just had this weird memory where someone at my elementary school saying you have to write sevens with an extra line pointing down from the top to be considered an adult. I still don't get the logic behind that, even for a kid.
If I'm working with both letters and numbers, I cross my zeros as to not confuse them with my Os.
I cross my 7s and Zs regularly. I will cross my 0s from time to time to differentiate it from the letter O or when writing in tips. I also add the top and bottom to the 1 when I feel I need to be clearer.
I cross dress.
