I like the drawing with the fist. Very clear symbolism and I like surreal stuff.
Now that's cute. The poor Chocobo looks scared.

Re, photo editing software and the big bad photoshop/gimp world, it gets very easy to do the basics once you put a little time into practicing it, keep it up :)
