o.o really? i've GOTTA try that!
i heard somewhere that if you sketch Gau when you meet him in the WoR, their stats will switch, and you get 99 Atma Weapons.
Yeah, you sketch invisible enemies and wierd things happen. Kinda funny though when the people cheating end up deleting all their save games (one of the possible outcomes of using this bug). But this treadis about useless characters, so let's see 'em:
Terra: All but useless, strong attacks, good amour and strong magic power. A staple character for any team.
Locke: Most underrated character in the game. Exceptional speed, excellent weapons and amour, plus the only sometimes useful steal ability. Unless you're playing a modified rom (i90east's version) that allows enemies to dodge attacks, Locke is an excellent fighter, especially midway through the game when using Hawkeye weapons. Use him at the beginning of the game, and he's an important addition late in the game.
Mog: Can be good, but there are other better characters. Dances are useful early in the game, Snowmufflers give perfect defense late in the game. I use it as a weak attacker or a defensive healer late in the game.
Edgar: Tools are useful and can lead to many different stategies. Below average amour and weak magic hold this character back in other areas. Give him the best stuff he can equipe, put him in the back, and start hacking things up with a chain saw!!!
Sabin: Huge damage potential throughout the game. Weak defense however with low magic power can make him a liability. Again, put him in the back and bum rush away.
Celes: See Terra. Exactly the same since I rarely use morph. I love high magic power characters.
Shadow: High stats all over. Defense may be suspect however throw causes massive damage from the back row. So keep him back there with those dirt cheap ninja stars. A decent magic user as well.
Gau: Another underrated character. While some people may argue that he is the most useful, versatile character in the game, there are only a limited number of rages that work well. Give him a snowmuffler, max his defense and watch your invisble warrior scratch up the enemies.
Strago: Moderate to high magic power, low defense. Give the guy a goldhairpin (economizer if you're cheap) and get grandtrain and white wind. Any esper spells he has are a bonus. Very effective character if you get the two big blue magics.
Relm: Poor kid get's no attention. Highest magic power in the game, excellent armour selection, useless everywhere else. You get her midway through thr game, so she's at a disadvantage in terms of magic learning. Give her Behemoth suit and put her in the back with a raft of spells to make her effective and give her a heal rod to help the others in the group. Probably the worst FFVI character because of the amount of time required to make her useful.
Umaro: Gauntlets and rage rings make this guy a bruiser. Unfortunately, if the enemy gets a piece of him with a spell he doesn't absorb he's up the creek. Not much use at low levels, but is fun to have if you over level (40+ at the end) throughout the game.
Gogo: Can do anything. Unfortunately poor amour/weapons selection with low stats makes him a weaker version of all the other characters in the game. Use him if you require the abilities of two or more characters and you just don't have the space for them in your party, or if you need another character with all the spells in the game and you're too lazy to do it yourself.
Setzer: GP is an ok damage producer at higher levels, slots are unpredictable and only able to equipe heavy armour, low magic defense. Only useful to offering+genegi glove users (in other words, not me). He sucks with Relm IMO.
Cyan: Heavy hitter from front row, powerful sword techs from the back. If managed properly (as discussed by others) swordtechs are extremely useful. Unfortunatel he tends to have low magic defense which get's him in trouble late in the game when enemies all use strong magic. All in all a decent character, but nothing to write home about.
Sum it up:
Especially good characters:
Terra
Shadow
Celes
Gau
Especially bad ones:
Relm
Setzer
Umaro (unless you overlevel)
It should be noted that any character in FFVI can be super powerful if given all the spells in the game and some of the godly equipment, the bad characters listed just require more effort to make them effective compared to the good ones.
Why give her the Genji Glove if she's not going to be equipping two weapons? :O_O:Quote:
