You're welcomed to say the J and T words though :D
"Jew" and "titty"?
Regardless of whether or not certain members of this board are mature enough to handle profanity, there will always be children here who shouldn't be exposed to such material. No matter how mature the population of EoFF is, you'll always get the one idiot who abuses the entire system and swears 'till Kingdom come.
And for those two simple reasons, I'm against swearing.
Actually, Barret quite visibly says (SPOILER)"Shi't!" when Cloud returns to the group after meeting Aeris the first time.Quote:

It isn't, I just wasn't sure whether it would be appropriate to print it without the spoiler tag.
I think the word "trout" shows up in the ending of ff7 as well. But that's about the extent of major swearing in the FF series.
Jeff and Trout :mad:Quote:

I say "pr0n" out of sheer inane amusement. No real point, I just do 'cause something in me finds it funny, compared to "porn" which is less entertaining and has negative connotations. Or something.
No-one needs to agree with the rules or accept them, merely follow them or expect consequences. It's good that this thread exists so that the matter can be discussed, though.
If someone's posting material that's against the rules, whether it's unsuitable imagery, or a "Revive the flower girl" thread, or unnecessary obsce language, it'll get dealt with as appropriate. No-one's getting 'treated like a child', they're just getting the same treatment that others do in similar circumstances.
"pr0n" is like "n00b" - people on the internet say that stuff for the sake of saying it wrong. However, pr0n did start off with a reason - porn got filtered out in some places so they started using pr0n as a way to bypass filters.
*revives the pr0n thread*
I suggest we replace the censor smilie  with this:
I actually suggest we replace  with :banme .
This was a far more entertaining read than I expected.
Actually, the swear filter wasn't introduced until Sean needed money to help host this place(I don't blame him) and got sponsers, which wanted filters. So, because the swear filters helped keep this place paid for, I, for one, didn't argue about it.
Yes, I believe swear filters are stupid and pointless. No, I would never have on one my MB. But ya know what? This isn't my MB. It's Sean's, and has been since it was made. And he chose to have a swear filter. *shrugs*
Really, it stopped annoying me once I realized that trying to get around the swear filter REALLY pisses the mods off. *nods sagely* ;)
