I lean towards the eest side on this issue, but I don't feel too strongly about it. It's not a big deal to pm someone to delete/close it.
The 0 posts idea is an interesting thought.
I always intend to write a hack for that, but have never gotten around for it.
We don't allow people to delete their own threads on FG, so draw your own conclusions. It's abused far too often, I think.
I'm with Unne on this one for the most part. Rare thing, I've noticed, so we must be right.

why don't staff just give warnings to people who abuse the thread deletion priviledge? I suppose that would be more effort than just a blanket ban.
