I think they were originally all the same level and then I started running into monsters with lvl 5 doom. that sucked so I killed steiner off so I could get past them.
less than three the abuse of thievery.
If I recall, the entire last dungeon starting from going into the little pulsating hole thing to the end of the ending took. . . less than five hours. with IRC breaks in between. not very long at all. (good thing too, because it was 4:30 by then and I wanted that game over with)

Something around Lv55 to all, except for Zidane that was Lv62 ou 63.
And I never got all Blue Magic, Shock, or Ark T__T
EDIT: In the current game I got all Blue Magic, Shock, and Ark \o/

My chracters were Zidane lvl 64 Dagger lvl 57 Steiner lvl 60 Vivi 57.
My chracters werent that good at the time lol.

...the classic team, but after that I kept playing the last two bosses with different team arrangments

Spent a long , long period of time levelling up and acquiring new skills/equipment before making my third and successful attempt.Though I could probably have won the game in my late sixties I decided to keep going , finishing off allthe subquests and chocographs,basically playingthe game inside out till I got bored and headed off to Crystal World for the final showdown ...

The only team that really worked well together:
Zidane (Lvl 69)
Vivi (Lvl 65)
Garnet (Lvl 62)
Steiner (Lvl 67)
And I don't know why all you people are using Amarant and Quina and Eiko. I found them to be very inferior. (Just my opinion, please don't kill me about it.)
