Michigan is one of the states directly in the way of Ontario, unless you plan to drive directly north from Cali and then drive east.

No, we're all going to drive for like 4 days to go to Ontario Canada. There we will meet in the middle of Ontario, which is a large food court, because we are Americans and all of Canada is our plaything. There we will hang out for a few hours and be nerds, and then turn around and make the long drive home. The end.
