theres like 5 moves per character which do all the same except they look different
Marth: Grab Down Throw => Instant Smash Attack
Samus: Bomb to bounce back, to reduce chance of resmash out of the ledge, Air Dodge and then use Grappling Beam to pull up and kick offending Smasher away. You can save yourself from seemingly horrendous death many times this way.
Rolls are suspectible to throws, therefore you dodge at the same time and shield alot to prevent that from happening.
Air Dodging directional by small jumping right pass some guy doing a combo will net you an instant edge.
Not all the moves are the same, go to combovideos or look up some tatics..its not as simple as it looks although it CAN be played that way.
First, yeah, it's 2D, you only move on 2 axises. Just becuase there are 3D graphics doen't mean it's 3D. Second, like was said by lionx, if you don't think there's depth you obviously either haven't played it that much or just don't like anything Nintendo, no matter what it is.Quote:

Your saying all games have depth unless you dont like them.
Thats stupid!
Not really a nintendo fan. Not saying there bad but not really my type of gaming. People like smash bros alot and im noty saying its a bad game but I dislike it for the reasons above
No what we are saying is that Smash Bros, although it is not very apparent, has high level play that are played in tournaments. One reason why a Fighting game lives is because it can be played at high levels and tournaments are held. Although not as widespread as SF, Smash does have high levels of play there to be recognized by some. Although this game CAN be played as a party or casual game, people themselves can turn it into a frenized melee battle of skill with the right tweaking of items and stages. Thats why its considered a great game.
Don't seem to recall saying that.Quote:
