Terry Schiavo: Death or Life?

Based on personal experience, I'd say her husband is acting appropriately. Although in our instance, our family acted all in agreement (or at least a heavy majority), whereas here in the US when a lawsuit can be dropped so easily things are different.

Terri Schiavo can finally be at peace.

Good for her, her situation was inhuman.

From what I understand, Terri's parents are willing to take over all responsibility (financial and otherwise) for Terri's care and release Michael Schiavo of his obligations. In return, they're simply asking for their daughter's life.

I don't think Terri ever made it clear that she wouldn't want to live in such a state and I suppose her parents are just trying to err on the side of caution.

So yeah, I can definitely why Terri's parents are fighting as hard as they are. I mean, it's their daughter. If were faced with the same dilemma, I'd like to believe that I would be strong enough to let my daughter pass away. But who knows, maybe if it really came down to it, I'd cling on and refuse to let go.

Agreed, I doubt I could bring myself to let my daughter pass away, if I were in their situation.

At least now she finally can rest in peace.

If I wasn't too late to make a statement, I totally agree with what LifeAsABullet said. I don't believe the woman shoudl have been left to die like that, I find it inhumane, although now she will be in peace how can anybody be certain on whether or not she was comfortable?

Florida state law mandates that the judges err on the side of life. Multiple witnesses outside of the husband testified that she would, indeed, want to die, which made over 30 different judges rule in favor of her death on 21 different occasions. That must've been some pretty persuasive evidence.

May she finally rest in peace.

In my view, she died fifteen years ago.

Oh, she did, and now people can begin to accept it. And she died of dehydration... starvation would have taken another couple weeks.

So she's finally dead?

That or the bush administration put a dummy in her place and smuggled her into the witness protection program. Why? Well it is the Bush administration.

Thank God, her soul can finally be unbound from this world, and she is nolonger forced to live that "life" as it was called.

It's a good thing Terri wasn't his dog, or that sort of starvation/dehydration would be considered inhumane; illegal. We can't as a society be allowing people to abuse their pets, and such, after all. Their wives, now, well that's a different story altogether, in the eyes of the law. Serial killer Michael Ross in Connecticut is up for execution soon. Perhaps lethal injection is too inhumane. If starvation and dehydration is humane enough to kill a spouse, it should be humane enough to kill a depraved psychopath. But it isn't. We offer humane deaths to our pets and our worst criminals, and only bring out the cruel and unusual deaths on loved ones.
