And I wouldn't step in front of a train for anyone (waste of organs, after all). However, if I like someone well enough, I tape a steel bar on one track. Thus knocking the train off track and saving said individual... at the cost of injury or death to everyone in the train. :D

Can I jump in front of a bullet meant for myself?

Only for my family and girlfriend.

I don't know if I would jump in front of a bullet for anyone. I don't see myself doing it. I do see myself freezing in fear, though. Or passing out.

Side note: I just noticed the dancing chocobo at the address bar thing. It looks like it's headbanging to my music. Cutest thing ever!

I'd be too scared to do it, probably. But maybe on the spur of the moment...anyone I love. Anyone. If something could make me do it, then why not anyone?

Why anyone would give their life for someone they don't see as family or friend is beyond my comprehension.

Well, to be fair... maybe I would put myself in front of a baby or something, I really don't know. But someone famous? No, I don't think so.
