Holy crap! Dark/Devil Ryu's in this game. The fact that Strider and Jin are in this games warrants my perpetuating desire for it.
And just for the record, Morrigan > Chun Li.
The people in my FFXI linkshell know how much I want this game. Let's just say that if it doesn't come out in the US, I'm gonna have to buy every last copy of every "quirky" or "Japanese" game I see until developers are convinced that Americans like "weird" games too. It doesn't even make sense for them to not release it here. Sure, tactical RPGs aren't HUGE over here, but Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy Tactics, La Puecelle, Fire Emblem and the handful of others that have come out were all well recieved. Namco and Capcom are both VERY big names here. Namco being behind Tekken and Soul Calibur, the two biggest names in 3D fighting. Capcom is even MORE well known with games like Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Mega Man, and uh... Capcom vs. SNK? It's almost a guaranteed hit for them. It's foolish of them to not release it.
Plus, I think the Street Fighter fanbase in North America is higher then it is in Japan.
I think there needs to be a Konami and SNK crossover game, or Square Enix and Sammy/Sega. It'd be weird to see Iori Yagami and Tir MchDol work together.
For the translation guides go to gamefaqs.
It's easy for you guys to say that it's going to be a hit, but I would have said the same thing about Japan.
Lo and behold, it hasn't done nearly as well as projected. Whoo.
There's no doubt in my mind it's a great game, but I don't expect to see it come over.
In a way Japan is divided since they dont recognize some of the more obscure characters. However that doesnt mean it wont be fun either way. I can easily just find out more about the games and play them too in the end they win through alot of commercializing. I mean wouldnt you be interested in the unknown characters too?
I am. Mashups are cooler when obscure songs are used, I can't imagine the same can't be said for crossover games.
I got the game working. (I litterally had to skin my PS2 to play it) and I can tell that this game was destined for a US release even before it got done.
So far I have the following news
There is very little voice acting, so no need to worry abou dubbing voices
Combat plays almost like a Tales game
Chun-li and KOSMOS are EXTREAMLY overpowered
Shion and MOMO are insultingly weak.
Apperently Shadowlaw from the Street Fighter series plays a big role in this game storyline
I'll have more updates when I play the game more.
