I'd like to add that I trust the citadel site. I should probably try a few other things they tell you to do, using the debug room. They don't say that you can revive Aeris, but I'm sure the lines do exist for Aeris in the Icicle Inn. That doesn't mean you can revive her; they theorise that they originally intended for her to still be alive at that point, but they must have changed their minds.
btw, I've been to the debug room on the PC version, and I've been to that hidden room that they mentioned, so that exists.
