Because console manufacturers hate you. That's basically what it boils down to. They want money more than loyalty. They don't want you playing games from another country because it might hurt the sales of the game if they ever bring it out. It's bull, really, but that's their reasoning. It's also the reason why many gamers have never played some of the most amazing games ever created.
