An Essay on the Comparitive Merits of Essays and Forum Member Poetry
My friends, as I think is made abundantly clear in this thread, we face a momentous decision. A surface analysis of the advatages of essays and of member-themed poetry leads us to a horrible, horrible impasse; indeed, without careful consideration, we may never resolve this burning issue! Thus, as responsible citizens of the Internet--nay, as decent human beings!--it is our task, our cross, to better elucidate this most frustrating of topics for the masses.
Essays, to begin a closer examination, have the benefit of extraordinary length. This not only allows the writer to fulsomely dwell on all pertinent aspects of the issue, but even on tangents wholly unrelated to the matter at hand. On a possibly related note, I think we should bring back the Xenogears forum. Further, essays by nature are useful tools of analysis; why, I believe it's even possible that essay writing may one day reveal the truth of Psychotic's insanity. This may be due to Magicite experimentation gone awry, but more than likely he's just Psychotic. Essays can even be funny. This one, for example, fails utterly, but let that not blind the reader to the truth. Essays are an excellent vehicle for comedy, assuming the writer has any sort of a propensity for humor. My sincerest apologies.
Member-themed poetry, on the other hand, is succinct, efficient, and yields an immediate payoff. Most of you probably have stopped reading by this point, particularly since I've occasionally sunk to using "long words." However, one can read a poem, chuckle briefly, and return to spamming General Chat (since no one would dare spam Feedback. My God, what a thought!). Poetry can also cover one's inability to think of a clever line; rhyme is a convenient excuse, similar to popular forum excuses like "I'm drunk", "I'm tired because it's 4 am", and "I 4M TEH ROXXOR LOL 50 I TYP3 p00R|_Y LOL". Further, poems can manifest themselves in haiku form. As this is a Final Fantasy forum, respect for all things Japanese clearly mandates that haiku is superior to whatever the hell one might normally say.
Thus, in longwinded conclusion, I urge you to carefully consider this matter for yourselves. It is beyond my wisdom, but I hope that together we may solve this ultimate conundrum.
Have an excellent day.
You forgot to include extended quotes from Cloud and Tifa.
It's not my fault. It's [strike]7:23[/strike] 4 am where I am.

Essays should be achieved, and ever post on this forum should contain mandatory Evangelion references.
DroneofTravis is just upset because he has an unatural attraction to his dead mothers clone, and he wants his FFV thing to be archived.
Hey, my dead mothers clone came on to me!
No, she simply stood there and obeyed your commands.
This is it so far.
