Well, you didn't HAVE to click it. There's this thing, y'know, called IGNORING THE DAMN THING. You're the one who fell for it, don't go blaming anyone else. I mean, it's pretty obvious what it does without clicking on it. Just hover the mouse over it and see what it says in the bar at the bottom.

As long as people don't start insulting each other in them or making otherwise rulebreaking posts I don't mind keeping them around.

Doing away with usernotes would cut kikimm's last ties to the general populace, ultimately rendering her a bitter and grouchy CK. Maybe it should be done after all.

Don't pretend you didn't know RSL... I also see feedback as spammy as usernotes are really. But the fact remains that there's hardly any spam on EoFF as compared to other similar places.
