After all, we are all filthy bags of flesh already filled with bacteria..
5 second rule=complete awesomeness!
My Alex is always eating things from off the floor. He's just turned three, and he still does it. Yesterday at the park, he picked up a handful of wood chippings and squelchy mud. I stopped him before he threw it, thank goodness. He's not a badly behaved child; he just hasn't grasped the concept that things on the floor are dirty and should not be touched.
If his food drops on the floor, he always tries to salvage it and becomes quite upset when I put it in the bin. :/
Yeah, if it can be washed. Let's say that I dropped a fresh apple on the floor. Sure, I can wash it since it hasn't been bitten into. Now, let's say I dropped a bagel with the spread side on the floor. Now, would I be able to wash that and eat it afterwards? No way.Quote:

no...
Yeah, I utilize the five minute rule.
I utilize the trashcan and learn not to drop things.
As long as it's dry so big chunks of nasty can't stick to it, then yeah. Like black orb said, it's not like we don't already have some bacteria in us ... the digestive tract is strong, put it to good use!
Floor food is a great way to build up your immunities. Besides you get enough dirt and whatnot everyday from various other activities. Floor food is quite tame in comparison.
It all depends on how hungry I am.
oh snap i use the 10 second rule
it all depends if i can be bothered to eat it or not! hate to waste it otherwise
has no one here ever heard of the "2 drop rule"
as logn as you dotn drop it twice, its ok.
if you drop it twice, it wasnt meant to be...
Nope.
well, i won't chisel off 3 year old gum from the ground and start chewing on it. but i would most likely be found picking up a dropped piece of fruit and re-wash it before eating it...
