I think it's funny. And it doesn't necessarily mean they're completely attention-seeking, y'know. :p I know a lot of people with whacked out usernames and yet they don't fit the stereotype of XxXSeXiBab3xXx at all.

Considering the way this thread is going I would like to point out that there is a big difference between "babe/xxx" and "lady". The implications are opposites.Quote:

I stopped having underscores and numbers in my screen names years ago (ok so my e-mail has tonnes of the damn things but Psy was totally responsible for the e-mail address) it was only when I came back here I realized I had still got the underscore in this one and it went quickly. "XxX", "babe", "Angel" (I was the original person to register fallen_angel at hotmail with a ".com" suffix AFAIK so whilst I cannot talk about it much I realize my mistakes when I was 13 going 14 and corrected them in later life.) and the many other commonly used terms are totally unoriginal it's surprising if you browse some forums member lists just how many totally unoriginal screen names there are out there or clones of a screen name with one or two character changes or word changes (or worse numbers attached I.E. "Yuna Babe 1253" where the 1253 has no special revalence to that person it isn't a year of birth or anything just random numbers that the system generated to distinguish the two.) I accept that some however are either banned members changing their nicks to go bug admins or people having a laugh about it yet still that doesn't account for the million and one clones out there.
Worse still I'm a guy and way back when I was 13/14 up untill currently I have only had one internet name that has not sounded female to people out there on the net and that was "Beoran" (a character on a computer game I used to play) Before my current it was Lasuria and yes that is a female name it was used for a female character and yet it was original to call myself that how many other Lasuria's are there out there? Yet I got that sick of people either trying to find out where I was (having left the group of people who knew me as Lasuria rather sharply) or guys hitting on me wherever I went (hey not like it bothers me that much but it's the remarks you get when they find out I'm male IRL) I decided to change to this current one which although I think it is non-gender speciffic I get told it is once again a girly name lol.
My message to those people out there with these un-original screen names is to get out there and get a life. An original screen name is not too hard to find or make. In fact a good nick for the internet is something easy to remember or to spell without " _ " or "-" or "*" in it. We were all born individually and heck why the heck shouldn't we keep that originality you arent the "1253" copy of you so why should you be the "1253" copy online?
I'm not that modest :greenie:Quote:

I think this counts as love hurts playing up by popular demand like the dogs that these girls who put "XXX" or "sexy" in their nicks, in otherwords they are dogs I believe she is saying.
If lovehurts was a girl, I would of hit on her by now....:pQuote:

EOFF, you'll be the death of me....
I think it's originally a chatroom thing. And being a girl myself, I know which types of girls do that. Usually the girly girls (I love boys, I love makeup, I love shopping types), or 12 yr old teenyboppers who have no sexual experience at all but are fascinated with it. I don't think many girls really get what they're putting out there when they choose usernames and think it'll be cool. But it's really not. It's totally lame.
I try not to be that lame - I pose as a FF character, malewise mostly, on other forums, because girl related names can be..lame

Well, the first post in this thread made me feel like crap...:)
I did it personally, because SammieBabe is an old nickname. I'm not worried about attracting anyone...:)
I think that most girls do it though as a way to get attention...
