I liked FFVIII's beginning as a whole, but my favorite scene from a beginning would have to be when they are all sitting around the fire at the start of FFX. It was so sad, and it made you want to get to know who all those people were.
As far as endings, I am going to have to hold out until I finish XII. If I had to choose now, I would prolly go with X-2, especially the Good ending (SPOILER)when Yuna runs out of the airship and hugs/tackles Tidus. What can I say, I like happy endings :greenie:.
I thought the FMV at the beginning of FF2 (Origins version) was awesomely cool, with the bad guys attacking Fynn and chasing the four young folks. I wish that Firion would have that kind of knife-and-sword throwing skill outside of that FMV.
It's kind of funny that the FMV ends with them standing on a cliff, looking at Fynn being destroyed. Because right after that, four of those Black Knights catch up with the four heroes, and quickly reduce the number of known heroes to 3.
I liked FF7's ending. It was creepy to see (SPOILER)Midgar off in the distance, all covered in vegetation and run down. Plus, Cloud's 1-arm pull up is super sweet.
I like FFXII's starting movie the most. Followed by FFVIII's.
My favourite ending was FFX's. But then Squeenix spoiled it all with FFX-2.

FFX's opening AND ending, even though FFVII is my favourite game.
I just saw all the opening movies on youtube.
My favourites are FFII, FFXI, and FFXII.
