So that was (SPOILER)Richard Branson! and yes the rope and chair was painful just watching it. the film was very smooth flowing imo it didnt stop, maybe had a slight pause to let the audience catch a quick breath but that was it, an extremly good movieQuote:

Yeah I thought it was awesome. Though much as I approve of the idea of starting over and abandoning the horrific slide that the last few films went through (imagine if they'd actually managed to keep going downhill from Die Another Day), I do think they could have had a little more needless action sequencesin the middle, it IS a Bond film after all.
Also there weren't really any moments (apart from the VERY last scene) where I really got the feeling that this was Bond, and only Bond. Like in The World is Not Enough where Brosnan straightened his tie underwater, or any ridiculous stunt or trick that really puts Bond in his own league. The new Bond was very clever, very cocky, and to be fair a very good agent, and I know he was meant to be rookie, but there could have been more glimpses that Bond really was something special, rather than just VERY good.
I really enjoyed it. Craig brought a certain drive to the series that it was lacking in the last instalment (Die Another Day had some good points, but it was average/crap overall), and while some have argued that he didn't have any "Bond" moments, (SPOILER)I think the beginning with the informant was fairly Bond. "They say the second kill is..." BANG! "I know". I thought was classic Bond.
And while I agree it lacked some mindless action sections, the action scenes in the film were fantastic. (SPOILER)The chase in the Madagasgan building site? Blew me away. The fight in the sinking Venician building? Very Bond, very cool.
Overall, it was a great Bond film IMO, and a great Bond playing the role.
I am not happy with the Brosnan bashing thats flying about. He was a great Bond. Goldeneye was one of the greats, and on some days I argue that it was better than Goldfinger. But hush my mouth.
Saw it with ed and another friend on opening night. I am short on time so here is how I am going to break it down.
Movie? Excellent movie.
Bond moive? One of the best, for me!
New Bond? AWESOME! Hope he stays for a long time!

I've just saw it and it was totally awesome. Definitely the best Bond movie in ages!
I dig the new gritty and brutal tone of the movie, and the fact that there are not so many (if any) gadgets was great. It had become too much in the past two-three movies.
As far as I'm concerned Daniel Craig has done the best job playing Bond so far. I like that he's more of a violent brute instead of the stereotypical British gentleman, and I really fealt he was a real person instead of the perfect MI6 agent that couldn't really get hurt or had a chance dying.
The stunts were simply brilliant by the way.
I can't wait to see the next one in the series.
Yeah, the parkour was sick and pretty much made the movie. I've seen free running before (in some documentary... a quick Googling says it was Jump London), but this stuff was taking it to a whole new level.
I was quite surprised by the new direction the new Bond has taken the character, but I don't think its a bad one. I'll need to see more Craig movies to judge him. He definitely doesn't fit the old Bond bill, but he definitely gives Bond a fresh update. I liked it, and I was surprised that I did.

edit: Ah, that guy was Sebastien Foucan after all (one of the main dudes in the documentary). It all fits together now.
Saw it today gee-golly-gee, it was smurfing BRILLIANT. One of the best Bond movies made to date, imho, along with The Man with the Golden Gun and A View to a Kill.
I think Craig faced a lot of unfair criticism and took a lot of unwarranted flak before the release of this movie, and I'm glad he's done gone showed the critics just what fantastic stuff he's made of through an absolute stellar performance.
He's been by far the most HUMAN Bond that I've ever seen. Brosnan was entertainment, but an impeccably smooth dandy I couldn't ever really empathise with, y'know? And you can just sorta tell they're trying to cut the norms with this Bond film. I mean...
for example..."Shaken or stirred?" "Do I look like I give a damn?" xD smurfing brilliant. And the balls-scratching bit. Not to mention the fact that Vesper -- y'know, how she goes on about James' walls and stuff. I think the fact that we can actually see so much of Bond's vulnerability in this film is just great. :D He's a COMMON hero! He's one of US! Not some unreachable secret agent in a high-tech world inaccessible to us~ And the fight scenes were just breathtakin'. Damn, I mean, the beginning bit where that guy with burns on his face is leaping...that smurf's DANCING. Not jumping across buildings xD That was amazing, as was the Venetian buildin crumbling down like sand.
Has anyone here seen Casino Royale? I have that movie is awesome! I like that opening song in the gun barrel sequence too. "You Know My Name.":)

I have seen it. Best damn 007 movie I've seen in a LONG time. Certainly much better than any of the Brosnan films (blech!). Though, I don't think anybody could possibly beat Sean Connery when it comes to the role of James Bond. But I have to admit, as much as I was skeptical when I heard that Daniel Craig was blonde, I think he did a pretty good job.
I think what was interesting about Daniel Craig's performance as James Bond is it was kind of like a cross between Sean Connery's performance and Timothy Dalton's performance.
Because when the bartender asked James if he wanted his martini shaken or stirred 007 glared at him and said "Do I look like I give a damn!?" But when Bond was being tortured by that guy who weeps blood 007 said "I have an itch...to the right...to the left...(laughs) you just scratched my balls!" "You're a funny man Mr. Bond."
The movie grabbed me from start to finish, and I was left wanting more. Who needs high-octane action sequences when you have great storytelling and phenomenal acting? Well, the odd action sequence won't go amiss, but you know what I'm trying to say.
9.5 out of 10, in my ever-so-humble opinion, gentlemen.
