I'm amazed at how quickly being a priest has ceased to be incredibly difficult and painful (I'm l.29 now). I can take on 3 guys my level and not die.

Priests are torture until around 20. Then it gets slowly better over time and gets really easy around 50 or so. Once you learn Power Word: Death, it's simple as hell. I'm taking most of that from a friend of mine, I only got my priest to 46 before I decided I wanted a druid and hunter instead.Quote:

Because normally you have to get gear from (A) raid in order to run (B) raid successfully. This change is the reason why it's so easy to gear up, except that it's a bit time consuming.
Ok, my rant here is done. At the moment, I'm trying to level Jewelcrafting and Blacksmithing ... what a pain in the ass to level. I want these professions because of thier two extra sockets and better gems. Two sockets combined with 68 agi (from two 34 agi gems) gems = ftw?

I recently picked up wow again. It's been a few months and I logged in and /gquit from my guild. Anywho, so I go do a heroic daily thinking, "Well if I can't raid why not get easy mode tier 9. So I go in there and my gear is crap since I hadn't really raided since like ulduar had just come out. And this DK is all "I'm in tier 9 let me tank" Yeah easy mode tier 9.
I hate and love this game :/

and well, skinning doesnt take that long if you take it as your first profession when you start your char, you just skin everything you see, and mining can take a long time even with smelting, because you only get so many smelts and then it doesnt lvl anymore. i'm lvl 51 and only got mining to 255 (admitedly i haven't mined til my hands are dust..)

Well, Forge of Souls and Pit of Saron are easy enough. Halls of Reflection probably would have gone okay, but it bugged out and so we had to stop and decided not to try it again yet.
I healed Forge of Souls without realizing I was in shadowspec.
Me and my roommate decided to heirloom-level druid alts. We'll see how that goes!

The new random dungeon system is awesome and completely destroys the old LFG and daily Heroics systems. Plenty of good, solid, easy to get groups, nice rewards, and easy transitions from dungeon to dungeon.
Oh dear, you like it ? I admit it makes it quicker to find groups but we are getting a lot of ninjas and rude jerks. since it's not their server what do they csre if their reputation is gone ?
And every time we get occulus at least two bail out :/
Plus no one is using the raids system, so recruiting for raids is harder now.
Oh and every nab now thinks they can heal or tank, including me :p Tanked a lot lately. To the despair of people who want a 15 minute run :p

I've had near zero issues with the new Dungeon Finger thing, with the exception of DKs tanking, which I still don't like healing for. But the majority of tanks I've gotten have been exceptional.
And yeah, when I'm done with my final today I'm going to random heroic for the rest of the day. T-9 by Christmas!
EDIT: God, I just spent 750 gold gemming/enchanting pants. I hate WoW. But they do give me over 200 SP now. :P

Yeah, the Gargoyle Femur dropped on run #10 and I figured that was enough, even though it's a DPS staff.
I'm basically geared now for raids (The World of Warcraft Armory), but don't really know how to go about doing it. =\ I've downed Flame Leviathan, but so far that's it.
Get on a raiding guild... Not a hardcore one, they are usually elitist jerks. Get on a casual raiding guild. They will show you the ropes. Raiding is fun if you do it with nice people :love:
PS: With a wow-heroes 2470 gear score like you have, you can do pretty much all raids except icc 25 !
I outgear my guild master now :p I think I'm going to organize a coup. My guild's not a raiding guild (our first was beating Flame Leviathan, which occurred last week), but I've grown too attached to it now to quit, I think. =\

From the limited experience I have with Festergut (two or three attempts late at night), it isn't necessarily difficult as long as everyone has an understanding of what they need to do. Rotface is supposedly the more difficult fight though and I have yet to attempt him at all.Quote:

Saurfang is fun. Gearing up is easy and mage is probably the most fun I've had playing a class so far.
Saurfang and Festergut are boo-o-o-o-ring as melee.
I can do both with my head resting on one arm, and just clicking my rotation. And yawn.
On Saurfang, range gets a little action with the beasts and tanks need to swap every so often, and even then, ranged can stay put if they can burn the adds fast enough with some kiting/slowing.
Rotface is much more interesting (read: frustrating) because it's all about controlling the oozes while doing high dps, so everyone needs to be on their toes to run out when they have mutating, kite their small ooze, avoid the aoe from puddles/vomit/big ooze and run out of the ooze explosion, and in that fight, unnecessary damage is punished harshly.
Haven't done putricide yet, we couldn't get enough people last week due to people working or having net issues due to the snow, but it seems like an interesting fight too with the add burning/kiting plus high dps.
My head hurts.

Last night a friend and I pissed some tanks off during randoms. He's a lock, I'm a mage and we each pull around 8k dps and pull before the tank is ready. So mad.

Y'know, I may not be the best tank out there, but I have never had a DPS pull aggro from my primary target. I mean, if you guys pull before I attack, yeah, the mob will start attacking you, but once it starts attacking me, it never gets pulled off.
My nightmare as a tank is a group of powerful single target DPSers all focusing on different targets and ignoring kill order. Even that is largely not a problem in Heroics though, since if they are powerful enough to do that much DPS, the things generally die before they get to be a problem for the squishies anyway.
95 mounts so far. 2 more PvP (ugh) mounts to get, 1 more Tourney mount, and I am 500 gold away from the 8k mammoth. Not sure where to pick up my final one for the 100 achievement. Winterspring, probably, since getting Oculus as a random is too rare for me.
Also, I understand that worry. I had a DK tank that I played for awhile and I constantly worried about that sort of thing. It never happened but it was in the back of my mind almost constantly. Arcane mages have so many ways to get out and away from danger that me pulling doesn't really concern me at all. I only do the pulls when I know the tank personally and know they can handle it, so that helps.

Aye DKs have weaker AOE aggro than palis. No one respects kill order anymore on my battle group.. dps is way too worried about looking pretty on recount. Had a rogue refusing to use tricks of the trade so his dps would show higher :p
As for pulling before tank, if I'm on a good mood, I just taunt it of them, if I'm pissed I go by the "you pull it, you tank it" rule :D

Fizzcrank is funny, I think they just got the litch king like two weeks ago.
Since they have now released the bulk of the proposed class changes for Cataclysm, it is probably about time that some sort of discussion went on regarding them. For your class(es), are you happy with the direction they are taking or are you disappointed in what they are doing with them?
I play a hunter and druid. For the most part, I am intrigued by the amount of hunter changes and the direction they are taking the class. I was initially worried that they would completely change gameplay with the change of mana-to-focus, but it seems like they are handling it fairly well and trying to change as little as possible. The changes aren't exactly set in stone and they're likely to be altered in some way before Cataclysm is released, but so far I am pretty happy with them. Trap Launcher is going to be so cool.
For druid... I am less excited. The change to Tree of Life should be interesting, but I'll wait to post opinions on that until more is released. Right now it seems like a pretty solid direction and I am always happy to check out my NElf's sweet ass instead of a root so there is that. The no new abilities thing is kinda boring and disappointed considering every other class, for the most part, is getting at least one new ability post-80 and the separation of druids from other healing classes is sort of outrageous. On the same vein, the changes make moonkin slightly more appealing than feral dps to me and might force me to change back.
Hunter and paladin, my alts, haven't been released yet so I'll wait until they are!

mmm after cloak, belt and trinket i went for shoulder of set because legs and hands can always drop on voa and give you a 2 piece. Sure enough hands dropped :)
used frosties for a non set t10 chest, again betting voa would drop legs and lucked out. Now have 4 piece set plus 264 chest ^^. Tank 4 piece DK set bonus is imba though. Not sure i'd have cared to go 4 piece if it wasn't.
The tricky part is that I was forced to roll ally, which means I get like one opportunity a week to do voa :p
Me and my roommate started doing arena today. We named ourselves Burrito Ex Nihilo. He's woefully undergeared (just got the Superior achievement today, has numerous blues, and is a mage with 15k mana), and I'm learning how to use disc as a spec. We started out 1-11, then went 3-15, and by the end of the day we were 10-23. It was quite fun.
We ended the night with a 9-minute battle against a mage and pally. Luckily the pally was holy, but was a los-er, so I followed him around for forever manaburning him down while my roommate survived by himself against the mage that had far better gear. Two shadowfiends and a hymn of hope later, we got the pally dead. It was truly exciting, and we're getting a lot better at arena. My roommate is one of the best WoW players you'll ever see (he never gets his guys geared enough, but good God he's talented at any class), so once he gets geared I think we'll be pretty formidable.

Woo, I finally got included in group 1 of my guild. >.< Cleared the first quarter, something for me dropped on every boss (bracers, Midnight Sun, Mag'hari Chieftain's Staff). I rolled 9 and 17 on the first two, and no one rolled against me on the third. We tried Rotface, but none of us were really sure of the fight and we wiped pretty royally. We'll get it tomorrow.

saurfang hits like a truck, the adds on lady actually kill people and coldflame does more than tickle

Was kicked from that guild :( they made me tank blood princes on 10 man - first time I was tanking them - and told me to tank keleseth (shadow). I didn't even know melee could tank him. Had 3 orbs on me and still went SPLAT on his attacks. 3 wipes and bye bye Ren.

So, two of the three largest raiding guilds on our server collapsed, leaving us (who were 5th-ish) with some pickins, including a new tank who boasts 61k hps. We dominate the first quarter + Rotface and Fester, and... fall flat on our face against Val. Again.
Included in some of our immigrants is a priest with a gear score about 200 higher than me (5.5 to 5.7), which terrifies me. I spent 2 1/2 months working my way up with this guild in order to get into their first group, and it would epicly suck if I lost my spot. We both went tonight, and the new priest had raid heals during Val, and couldn't do it. It honestly made me happy inside. Is that bad?
