We here at Eyeson are a community. That much is obvious as soon as you start looking around. What you may not think about right away, though, is what happens when someone leaves this community. Chris

Who could forget Chris with his creepy fascination with Grace Jones? He’s banned now, so there’s little chance of him coming back without breaking the rules. He was one of the ones who was banned for pushing the limits of what’s allowed and what’s not allowed in the community. Still, he did it in such a way to leave plenty of room to like him, which is evidenced by the fact that he’s been gone for over a year and he’s still missed.

Christmas

Christmas is one talented MSPaint artist. She’s ubercreative, with her own little caricature of pretty much any Eyeson member who makes their presence known. And she certainly made hers known! Christmas is really more of an online persona than anything. Odds are, nobody could be that crazy in real life and still function. The only thing more obvious about her than her Paint skills is her insane love/hate relationship with “Nanny Manus!” Hopefully, she’ll be back soon. I’m not entirely sure where she is, but I believe it has something to do with being in the military. Let’s all hope for her safe return.

Kikimm

Kiks was once one of the more prominent members of the community. She was a CK, even. Up until September she was a very regular member, but suddenly she relinquished her position as a CK and disappeared. She hasn’t been back since. I don’t know where she went, but this seems like the timing and behaviour of someone who chose to focus her energies on her studies, instead of moderating a forum. Still, does that mean she can’t pop by now and then? Goodness.

Meat Puppet

Meat Puppet is an odd character. When he started off he was a very visible member. He was always there, doing something crazy. Then as the years went by, he started appearing more and more sporadically. Perhaps because he hadn’t actually played a Final Fantasy in years. How can you belong to a Final Fantasy forum and not know who Tidus is? He’s a paradox, I tells ya. Anyway, he hasn’t been seen since September, but it’s very possible that this is just one of his regular disappearances gone on a bit long. Fingers crossed.

Owen Macwere

The rest of these nominees either did something silly or just disappeared by their own choice. Owen, however, is the victim of circumstance. He wasn’t very obvious when he first joined, but when he took up graphic design he quickly made a name for himself. At first he was a bit full of himself and alienated some people, but eventually he learned some humility and managed to win everyone over.

By the end of his all-to-short life, he had made many friends here. Even people like Genji, who hate everyone but especially hated him, ended up taking a liking to him. But Owen wasn’t well. This is something that he only shared with his closest friends (a rank I, personally, never reached), but he had a problem with his lungs that required extensive medical treatments. One day, Owen went in for surgery, but didn’t make it out. Owen wanted to be here, the community wanted him to be here, the only reason for him not to be here right now is the incredible unfairness that is life.

Rest In Peace, Owen MacWere.

Reine

Back in lighthearted mode, what can be said about Reine? Reine is Reine. Reine is another member who was banned on a technicality more than anything. Reine made a mistake, and unfortunately it was one of the big mistakes you can make on this site, and paid for it. Reine is still around, having fun on at least one of Eyeson’s satellite boards. I keep referring to Reine as “Reine” because I can’t, for the life of me, remember Reine’s gender. Reine likes to be ambiguous.

RSL

Rydia’s Secret Lover is kind of like Kikimm in that he used to be one of the most prominent members of the community. He made it all the way up to Administrator, even. The big thing about RSL is that it’s incredibly hard not to like him. One of the most pleasant people ever to sail the seven internets, known for his adorable beard and love of stuffed donkeys, he’s also very shy, probably using the luscious beard as a psychological mask. Come back, RSL! We miss you!

Wyllius

Whoah, who the hell is this? It looks like he used to be a staff member years ago, but I don’t remember him at all. He disappeared shortly after I joined. Maybe it was my fault. Oh, well. Sorry, buddy, looks like your speech is going to be a bit short.

Anyway, that’s pretty much everything there is to know about the nominees. Except Wyllius. I think it’s time to take a look at the winner, don’t you?
