Faulty Logic? IF you mean the whole "Two people targeting Ingus" thing, I've still yet to here something that says that couldn't have happened.
NOOOOO The Ramza! Why? You wacky antics amused my beard!
You know it seems almost right that Quina was the Godfather.
It couldn't have happened. If I was targetted by a mafia and a different party (we'll say lovers), then I would've died (because of the lovers), but my name would've been Red, indicating scum (because of the mafia trying to kill me which would've recruited me).
There happy?
How many times was it said between Fran and I? "IF THE MAFIA KILL HAD GONE THROUGH, THERE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN A KILL AT ALL!!!!"
I'm banning you from playing Mafia in the future, Cracker.
Sure I'm fine to do it with Oddler too!
Ah, so Quina was a jester. Figured when he voted for himself and all that "jester isn't a threat business". Congrats, Roto!
Quina was the godfather shiny.
Oh wait, the spoiler. Just read it. Good work persons imo.
If you let me and Denmark stay we would have got Quina earlier. 8(
I know who you are in this game so be happy I didn't shoot you. ;)
I actually saved you. The town would have lynched you if I hadn't come in as hell raiser. Seriously, get over it. I was having a bit of fun because you started running off at the mouth in this thread before the game even began.
I mouth off when I want, where I want, and how I want!
Gb..... You don't know how much I wanted to lynch you still yet. It's not just shiny who wanted you gone. I guess you're like Psy, You got a big target on your head.
Everyone just loves to hate me
I like how it turns out Boko was arguing with himself in the first round.
Hey Roto good job on that Jester bluff, it was going well...till ya'know, you got the last vote to lynch yourself. ;)
I think I might want to play again next round, but after that I'd also like to be considered for help with hosting. kthxbai.
I have alot of respect for Ms. Del Rinoa now.
Yeaaah boi! *high fives Del* I had faith in you and to think Kent wanted to kill you. I'm glad I stopped him. :)
Woot! I won my first ever Mafia game.
And now that I am done with that.
I was looking at the night Barret got killed, He tried to role block me, but it bounced off of me and roleblocked The Ramza who tried to protect Barret, then the Mafia tried to kill me but it bounced off me and hit Barret who had cancled his own protection...
Now that is funny.
I just wasn't sure if he would come up as Red.
Until Boko said it here, "No one" had yet to say he would definately come up as red.
All I heard was "IT wasn't possible, your logic sucks". How was I suppose to know he would definately come up as red?
I mean hell, once in the thread I even stated I wasn't sure if he would register as Mafia if he was targeted. Why exactly had no one said anything after I said that?
Ha, we actually survived a game!
Awesome.
I have to say I did just watch the thread most of the time, waiting for the opportune moment, which was never.
The only people who voted for me with strong opinions ended up getting lynched and turned out to be mafia :/
Poor Vivi. I thought you were just a really useless Mason for a long time.
Man, the first few nights were crazy with all the roleblocking and targets bouncing around.
Seriously, the town would have to REALLY suck to not win this game. They had a Nexus, a role just as good as cop, a roleblocker, the only thing they didn't have was a doctor. What REALLY killed the Mafia though, was the role revelations. Since we knew there where no Vanilla townies you knew I had to be some kind of role, and it was impossible for me to keep my roleclaim seeming truthful forever because you could so easily eliminate Naive Cop, and tell who's telling the truth.
Silly Mafia, thinking Irvine was a cop. To think I almost killed your don.
When does the next one start?
Being a Mason this game really sucked. xD foa was killed off before there was any real discussion needed. If you can't see the Mason forum don't worry, you're not missing anything. xD
An explanation of our fine game.
Firstly, the dear Lovers, my personal invention and favourite children. After landing the role of serial killer in the last game, I was apprehensive. How the hell do you win with a serial killer? Well, you don't, because the mafia are filthy cheats who use hax to find out your identity  But really, it's ungodly impossible. So I decided to buff them it up a bit, giving it elements of the mafia. The doctor was just to reduce the chance of them being wiped out in the night before they got a chance to get going, like I was in the last game. Shame it didn't work!
What, no Cop?! No. Absolutely not. I hate the damn role. (don't take this as an indicator of it not being in the next game! qwerty probably likes it. I dunno) Guilty or innocent? Too easy. Too god damned easy by far. I like roles that make you think. Like Gunsmith. Why does Person X have a gun? Or Watcher/Tracker. Why did Person X target Person Y? We also included lots of roles with night targetting for this reason, like the Hider as opposed to a Bulletproof townie, which in some ways amounts to the same thing.
Del Murder hit on the exact reason why we have two roles with roleblocking abilities. Yes, it was to try to offset some of the other night activities. We also gave the town other power roles, like Vigilante and Masons, to combat the threat posed by two killing factions as opposed to just the one.
We also gave the mafia a heck of a lot of power to face off against the threats they faced. First of all the roles of the mafia themselves. Obviously the Ninja was the true "godfather", being investigation proof from all three roles. Goon was because we felt they'd be overpowered with another special role. Cop was supposed to be the thing which gave them most of their power. Edgar could've uncovered the two lovers, the usurper and the miller, and then used them to roleclaim cop in the thread. We also gave them a few helpful roles in the town, like the Saulus, the Usurper (this would help them if she had killed Quina because A) the town would think the godfather dead, and B) X amount of days worth of vote history with no mafia connection!) And yes, the JESTER. I know Del and Miriel think that doesn't benefit anybody, but yes, it benefits the mafia in my opinion. Someone acting like a damn jackass, drawing attention away from them has helped them in previous games. So we just made it official.
And finally, the Nexus. Apparently a lot of you hate that role. Okay! Criticism accepted! We just wanted to make things a bit funnier and crazier. "Oh man, screwed over because of THAT?" but apparently none of you seem to find that funny like we do. Well, Dolentrean did, but he's the Nexus.
EDIT: Oh I forgot, we also wanted some subplots. Like the [color=blue]Survivor[/color and the Usurper - just as a fun distraction from who kills/lynches who. So yeah. And you all know about why we gave the Survivor those special daily conditions.
Psy I woulda loved this game... If you didn't hint roles. So, even if the next game has no vanilla townies, it will be good if you don't make the same mistake twice.
Okay. Feedback accepted. We wanted to try something new, and okay, lesson learned!
What's the next theme?
The mafia would have been nothing without Miriel.
I think they could've won if Auron hadn't been killed by an unlucky shot from Freya.
The only role I didn't like was Jester.
I hate that role, oh so much. It needs to die. Horribly and painfully.
And yes, stop the role hinting too. Otherwise, good job.
Sorry, Psycho, but I don't think you gave Mafia side enough power to balance out the fact that there were so many power roles on the town's side.
Godfather was useless and only there to trick the Mafia into thinking there was a cop. A lot of the Mafia's strategy depended on the idea that there was a cop, and putting in Godfather just made Mafia confused and focused on the wrong stuff. Mafia cop wasn't enough to stand up against a ENTIRE town full of power roles. Maybe if you had left the Mafia cop in tact rather than severely limiting its powers, it might have been more balanced. But as it was, there was like a 4/18 shot of getting any useful information. Innocent, innocent, innocent, well of course most of the townies are gonna be innocent! What would have really been helpful was if Mafia cop was able to detect the power roles of the various citizens.
I love the idea of Lovers and I think it was a really unique role that you guys came up with.
Nexus, I think it's obvious you guys know how I feel about Nexus. It was pretty smart to put in a bunch of tracking abilities as opposed to one cop. I don't mind the Jester's role in relation to how the role helps out Mafia, but I think it's unfair for a player to be put into a game, only to die as soon as they possibly can. It's really not fair to that player. If they played the role properly, they don't even get to enjoy the game. That's my biggest beef with Jester. I know that if I got that role, I would refuse to play it right.
I do however, really like the posting regulations you gave to certain roles. Makes for a fun game I think, to limit when or how often a person can post.
Whoever takes over the game after Qwerty and Psycho, please don't try and "out do" them in terms of the roles in play. I don't want to keep playing in games that are just nuts for the sake of being nuts, even if that may be fun once or twice. It takes a LOT to try and balance out a game properly. So please, try and do it right! I know Qwerty and Psycho spent a lot of time trying to make sure that they get a balanced game. Whoever takes over next should do the same.
tbh I worried that it was the mafia who were overpowered when this game began. They lost because of bad luck on losing Auron and the lovers whacking Ingus, poor night choices (did you guys seriously investigate Ramza? honestly, wtf) and Quina following Fran around like a lovesick puppy when it came to voting.
I stand by my belief that the game was balanced!
But I would definitely like the next one to be more usual, with Vanilla Town. In some ways this shows people why VT are necessary, and maybe they should play normally if they get that role in future, or not play at all.
What the hell where those investigations suppose to do for me? By Day 3 the lovers where already gone, USELESS.
Really? I thought I read it way back at the start of this on the flash that God Fathers were immune to night kills. Though not like we followed the flash roles really. >.>
All in all a fun first game. Completely chaotic. Just the way things should be. :choc2:
They were gone because you lot lynched one of them and killed the other one, so it's entirely your own fault. Oh, and there was still the Usurper and the Miller out there, which you convieniently forgot to mention. What were they supposed to do for you? Do you really need to ask what you do with a guilty result? Honestly? Imagine if you had found one, and then publically announced that you were the cop and that X was guilty. I doubt you'd be complaining then...
Useless? No. Used badly? I think so.
You miss the point, no townie would believe it until my role revealed a Mafian, until then I can't be trusted. I did point out Lulu, and vote with two mafians, didn't matter see. Until I got a "guilty" that was a mafian they wouldn't care. Maybe if you didn't tell them there was a possibility of a mafian cop my roleclaim would've helped.
Oh, and I mentioned this in the Mafia forum, but I think revealing the roles was detrimental to anyone who wanted to take on a false roleclaim. Towards the end, if it wasn't for the role reveals, Mafia might have been able to last a bit longer (although I think we were doomed no matter what). Process of elimination, although it helped Mafia, helped out the town a lot more.
I also agree that the revelation of role notes weren't a good idea. In the end that proved Edgar's downfall.
All and all I think qwerty and Psy did a good job, but I wouldn't want to do the 'everyone has a role' game again.
EDIT: Power! So much power! I feel it returning in my veins!
I thought this game went well. Too many power roles though, and I need to learn to have some good judgement. xD The amount of times I thought I'd get killed because I defended someone who came up scum, or made final votes on innocent townies... xD
But yeah, I thought this was a good game. =] Look forward to the next one! =D
I want to play a game where the mafia were: Me, Miriel, Psychotic, and Jojee. That would be fun.
Sorry about not coming on today. My computer is not working, so I'm using a friends. You can see the mason forum now.
The roles in the game were balanced, and the players were random. We were revealing roles because you would have all complained if the jester was lynched. Don't worry, next time we host a game were leaving you all in the dark. :p Glad you had fun though.
I just got done reading the Mafia forum and that was a good read.
Though Miriel wanted me dead like every other post. Why the hate. :(
Though looking forward to the next game. Can't wait for that. :D
Ha ha ha, I think the game was great, albet I am the Nexus, that was fun XD
For what it's worth I think the initial set up was quite balanced. All three groups had a fair chance at winning. (well, maybe not the lovers, but such is the way of the serial killer. For that alignment they still had very much power.) It's just that this is an unpredictable game, and :skull::skull::skull::skull: sometimes hit the fan, because of perhaps bad luck or bad judgment from the player.
I kinda want to join the next one now.
I hated my role. SOOOOOO much but hey Joy I won the game and I hated my role. So stick that in your juice box and suck it.
I wanted to get lynched tbh. Just to see what it'd tell the town and mafia. They'd be all "oh snap"
After death and after I got the list of roles in front of me, I really thought it was a pretty nice setup. I liked that there were modified or made-up roles, too. Throwing a little curveball here and there is awesome; I agree, though, that there was probably a little too much in this game to actually be able to make sense of it all. Nexus? Total BS if you ask me. :p
All in all, it was excellent fun. I'd like to see another non-vanilla game but I also agree that they should be few and far between.
It hugely sucked bad that I got night killed. Good shot, though. :choc2:
Woah, nice work on the role descriptions. Must've taken you ages.
hahaha...that was fun! Best role ever n.n
I wish I hadn't died so early VIGILANTES. :mad2:
I wish the same, foa. :(
I called the next mafia game first but I need a partner still. :mog:
Aren't Psy and qwerty doing the next?
I'll be your partner if Mrs. Peacock decides not to do it, Demon Dude. We'll most likely need someone to work with on staff to make sure everything flows right, though.
I thought Psychotic and qwertyxsora were doing another one, and Demon Dude and whoever after that.
When's the next mafia game
lol not banned yet
leader of mortals, how dare you post in the Edgar account, people might think I'm posting your epic fail.
lol no its actually me talking to myself in another tab:p
It won't just be Edgar who gets banned if you keep this up ;)
aww
lol at gobo... posting against himself...:D
seriously whens the next game
Just so everyone knows, this is the lineup as far as I know. At least these are the people who have shown interest as far as I know. They're also in the order I knew about them.
Psy & qwerty
Del & Miriel
Lekana(???)
Demon Dude
I don't mind being the mod partner for anybody, but you guys need to start hacking this stuff out to decide who wants to do what and when. It'd be nice if we could have a list, mostly because I like lists.
Your list is wrong foa, you have been caught in a lie and the only one who would ever need to lie is the mafia. I am onto you.
Miriel said someone else could host after Psyqwerty
Oh, it seems I missed Lekana, the dancing fairy lady. Why not Lekana et Demon Dude? :greenie:
Someone else can go ahead and do the next one. However, let the dust settle on this game first. We don't want this to get watered down.
Yeah :D I was thinking about not doing it but now i'm thinking about doing it again :D Me and DD might do it together. Who knows! We'll just have to see when the time comes.
If you set up the group forums on another board you won't need much staff involvement.
Yeah but we'd need someone to change the names. :/
I liked having four different factions in the game n.n
It's just fine having no powerless players, maybe it would have been easier for the mafia if role hints weren't revealed though...and if I hadn't killed Auron....
I'm just sad I didn't get to be the Jester. I've always wanted that role. It's so fun.
It's hard to say if my role is harmful or helpful to the mafia. If I actually had become the Godfather, I'd still be dead, and the mafia would be Godfatherless because of my actions on Day one xD
EDIT:
Next time the names should be the names of the players, only scrambled up for extra confusion!
Nah... Mafia VI: Care Bare Edition!
Care Bears? :monster:
I'd be happy to do it with you Lekana!
So is it the one after the next or...
