Aside from the "trollface" being overused in some episodes, it's kind of fun to watch - I'd recomend it. :)

My love of the Apple family is bursting at the seams with the rampant Apple centric goodness of the next several episode synopses.
An Apple family episode, sounds cool and all, but I wouldn't mind seeing an Applejack episode this season (although it looks like in one episode she will at least be the main focus). Is it me, or is the last time AJ was the main character was "Applebuck Season"? Yes, there's also "Look Before You Sleep and "Fall Weather Friends", but in both of those she's just a main character, because in both those episodes, the staring role is shared.
Which is another thing I like about this show - each character gets to be the main character at times (they bill Twilight as the main main character but you get what I mean); sometimes it's just one character who is the main character for the episode, sometimes (like the two episodes I just mentioned) at least two characters share the leading part, and sometimes of course there is no main character, and it's just about all of them. Arguably, you could say even minor characters have their own episodes (Luna was the main character in a season 2 episode for example). I dunno, it's just kind of cool how they share it out.
I can sorta agree with that. Applejack is best pony, but that said I think she works better as a support character. It isn't that she can't hold an episode on her own, but that she doesn't NEED to. Applejack's a boss like that.
So when do the episodes come back? Is it this coming weekend? I can't remember.

Last night I had a dream that I was hanging out with the Mane Six and also Big Mac.
Big Mac acquired through unrevealed means a grain silo filled with diamonds.
Then some other humans started bullying the ponies so I kicked one of their heads clean off, which wasn't very "love and tolerate" but Fluttershy was completely smitten with me so it was okay in my book.

I saw the Baby Cakes episode, and enjoyed it, as you'd guess it was pretty "aww" in places, and funny in others. For some reason, I thought the scene towards the end where (SPOILER)The twins dropped flour on themselves as an appology (watch the episode to get the point of this). to be really "aww", but I dunno why it was.
I was suprised at how negative everyone on the Friendship is Magic Wikia was being about this episode before it even aired though; everybody thought it would a carbon copy of Stare Master, which (as I told them before I even saw the episode myself) it wasn't. Why did they think it would be anyway? I mean, yes, both episodes were about babysitting (or whatever it's called when they're kids, not babies), but Pinkie and Fluttershy are completly different characters, and would approach the situation differently (which they did.) I was also suprised at how so many people on the wikia (and on YouTube) were confused at how the babies were different types of ponies to their parents, and how they were able to suddenly fly and use magic at such a young age, when ponies older than them have yet to do so - and both of these things where explained in the episode! :roll2
Stupid question time; what is a young pony anyway? From watching this show, I thought it was a "filly", but at the start of this episode, somepony (I think Pinkie) said something along the lines of "Are they fillies or (?colds?)?" which in that context sounded like "are the girls or boys?".

So I've been listening to this remix/cover of The Gala song a bit in the past couple of days, when I decided to go check out the original to see how they differed.
Two things:
1. Rainbow Dash's part is easily the best part of the song in each version.
2. I feel super derp for just now realizing the music in the original changes a bit to kind of match the personalities of the pony singing. Derp.

Well, last night I watched The Last Round Up as promised, and I must say I enjoyed this episode. I am pleased that both my theories on the plot of the episode (either Applejack randomly getting lost, and trying to find her way back home, or Applejack dissapearing, and the entire episode being focused on her friends looking for her) were wrong - instead we got a nice balanced episode of AJ "suddenly" deciding she didn't want to return home, and her friends trying to get to the bottom of it. I suppose if either of my theories had been right it wouldn't have ruined the episode too much - one of the many things I love about Friendship is Magic is that it manages to take "been there, done that" episodes, and make them fresh, new, and entertaining.
As the second episode in which Applejack is considered to be the main character, it was pretty much a success, as it gave the others enough to do, and not be completly left out. As mentioned before, AJ does kind of do better as a more supportive character, but this episode shows that she can handle the spotlight if the episode is done correctly. The first Applejack episode was Applebuck Season which was an early episode of season one, and we've waited quite a while for her second episode (Look Before You Sleep is an episode which shares it's main character - it is a joint title shared by Applejack and Rarity). Also the music that played while the other ponies were looking for her was strangley familiar.
So what else is there to talk about for this episode...

The reaction was a mixed bag amongst Bronies to say the least, but I personally was pleased with the result - eerily enough, Derpy sounded pretty much how I'd imagined her to from the start, and the way Rainbow Dash actect like, she didn't really like Derpy, or at least didn't have the time for her was pretty close to how one fanfiction I read portrayed her. However that fanfiction did use "Ditzy" as her actual name, and "Derpy" as her nickname, which in a way made more sense. So are we to assume that "Ditzy Doo" is a different pony all together?
All in all, a decent episode that I enjoyed - they've still yet to make a 100% bad one, and lets hope it stayes (that's my opinion obviously).

Okay, here's my my opinion on the latest episode. Once again I enjoyed the episode, and was pleased to see that Applejack got to try her hand (hoof?) in being the main character again, even though the entire Apple Family (that we see more than the others, that is) were involved. When I first read the synopsis for the episode on the wikia, I for some reason assumed that the competing was going to be a contest for younger ponies, but obviously I got that completly wrong.
Flim and Flam, were decent enough characters, but as much as liked them, they're probably two of the few characters I liked, that I don't want to ever see again, either in another episode or in fanfiction, unless it's written really well (they seem like characters who benifite from being in just one episode). I really enjoyed the song for this episode (even though it was pretty long) and loved how the majority of background ponies were involved, and the whole thing looked like a scene from a musical, which may have been the point. The song reminded me of several different songs at the same time, all of which from TV shows, and many of them in similar situations (characters like Flim and Flam, advertising something). So maybe all of these songs are based on the same thing? Also, for some reason I thought Apple Bloom looked more "aww" than she usually does during this song...
The ending result somewhat predictable, but as usual the quality of the episode just made me not care at all (I could list a few episodes of Friendship is Magic that have predictable endings, but I still love the episodes because they manage to be entertaining). Like others have said, this episode had the best final letter ever. I actually laughed when AJ dictated it. :jess:
Finally, I noticed that as opposed to last episode, Derpy is now back to her old background self, but that's probably a good thing. I'd like to see more episodes where Derpy talks and is involved, but it should only be an occasional thing. Also, I couldn't help but think of the Final Fantasy VIII hotdogs during Dash's obsession with the cider for some reason...

The level of background pony in this episode was friggin amazing. Also, return of excited Lyra if anyone else caught that.

Not yet anyway. The only two that have ever been referenced in the show are Luna and Celestia.
Season 2 Finale Pseudo SpoilerHowever, the last episode of Season 2 supposedly features a "royal wedding" with an as of yet unseen Alicorn named Princess Cadence. She's getting married to a Unicorn though, so still no male Alicorns. There is hope/speculation a lot of places that it's a fairy tale of some sort, and not a legitimate canon event. The link at the bottom shows the Mane6 all dressed up though, so I'm kinda doubtful about that theories validity.
