Do I not like that.
Exactly no strings. At least not in Zurich. That place isn't a safe haven anymore. :shifty:
Not gonna lie, delighted at the idea that NZ could get the Oceania spot every single World Cup, should Oceania get assured of one due to the expansion...
I don't really mind more teams that much. I mean, they're right in that being involved definitely boosts the sport in the nations where it isn't the primary choice (such as NZ) and I've seen other "minnows" get a lot of love over the years. I can certainly see the upsides. What would be really cool is if they actually reinvested that money into grass roots football. But... yeah, good luck with that.
AMERICANS PLEASE GET OUT
If I see any more dumb Facebook remarks about how the Swans made a mega boohickey call by firing MVP Bob Bradley (عليه السلام) from Layton in Michigan I'm going to go and support Newport County instead. The man was shocking. I can't believe it only took 12 months to dismantle a very smoothly run club into several broken, obese pieces.
At least you have a beautiful piece of art from the legendary Andy Carroll to enjoy.
What a goal. Just a pity he's never fit for more than three games at a time.
January 20th: Trump becomes president
January 21st: Swansea beat Liverpool
January 22nd: Dale Winton finds an ancient artifact granting him incomprehensible power; enslaves the human race
There is no GOD but Gylfi Sigurdsson and Tom Carroll is his prophet
He is the False Prophet and the False Carroll.
Also thank smurf Rooney finally broke that record. It was insufferable having commentators (looking at you, Martin Tyler) "IS THIS THE FATED HOUR OF DESTINY?" or somesuch variation thereof everytime he touched the ball in the opposition half.
So, Chelsea to win the title by March huh
West Ham on a roll, up to 10th now. :)
So yeah, Andy Carroll scored the greatest overhead kick the world has ever seen.
Never mind Donald Trump, if this doesn't signal the start of the apocalypse then I don't know what does.
The greasy one is a very decent player, when fit. Pity he's six foot three and fourteen stone of wafer biscuits.
What the smurf is that knock off Chinese kit you can buy from a dodgy London tourist trap badge?
Liverpool taking a leaf out of the Arsenal playbook by aiming to end their season by February. Of course Arsenal are still on course to do the same!
Saved by the Dutch player.
Dang, that's shameful.
I...I...want to believe
You wish. Big Sam is going to dine on roasted Swan and sup on your tears as he gets you relegated.
Of course there is the very real prospect that he dines on fox instead...
Big Sam will probably do his best to relegate you then bring in overpriced pish in the Championship but get you up in 2nd.
Why does every goalkeeper come to Old Trafford and play an absolute blinder? Tom Heaton and Eldin Jakupovic are better than De Gea... only when they play us though.
Nobody is better than Anfield De Gea.
You wait and see how sh*te Hull are today against Liverpool. Jakupovic will revert back to being crap and Hull just won't turn up.
Liverpool haven't been playing great but they'll come away 1-0 losers today, you watch.
You, sir, are delusional. 3-0? Not even 3 points, I suspect.
"You can tell Conte now if he's watching... we're still fighting for this title. He's got to host Middlesbrough and get something and... and I'll tell you, honestly...
...yeah, it's pretty much all over"

I can't stop watching Coquelin trying to stop Hazard.
Glad to be a service of dispelling another myth as to why Mourinho is failing. :p You'd think all the offside goals for United would be a counter to his favourite "the referees are against us" conspiracy but it shows no signs of abating yet.
Eh... benefit of doubt to the attacking team :D
Have you seen how many times we have hit the woodwork this season? Almost double any other team.
It's lovely to see Klopp with a worse record than Moyes and Van Gaal though :)
Klopp didn't take over the champions or spend a quarter of a billion pounds either...!
And he's still ahead of Mourinho...
You've got me there. You didn't even mention how much harder it is to win trophies at minnows like Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester United compared to multi billionaire clubs like Mainz05, Borussia Dortmund and of course, Liverpool, who have enjoyed a stellar and trophy laden 25 years.
It was all Weird Al Jankovic's fault. He never plays that well otherwise don't you know.
Man, Leicester are garbage. What the hell has happened to them?
Kante. imho the best player in the league. City wouldn't have won the title last season without him and Chelsea wouldn't win it this season without him either.
The amount of posts I place in this thread is proportional to how badly Leicester is doing. It's now kinda boring again. The top six are predictable. Arsenal is in their comfortable fourth place. The biggest surprise I can muster is possibly Man United being 6th.
Colleague at work put a tenner on Leicester to go down- he's fairly confident he's going to win something now as they look awful.
All I'm saying is that if Leicester go down the only difference will be they didn't have Nathan Dyer
He does have more Premier League winners medals than Raheem Sterling after all. Less goals, though.
Christ Sterling is taller than Dyer as well, what a midget.
Less talent, less goals, less height...but one league winner's medal.
Meh, I've seen better 4-0 vs Barca games this season. Not remotely biased because I happened to be at the other. What do you mean pre-season friendlies don't count?
I can't believe I totally forgot to gloat after this weekend. I was at the game and Leicester were really, really poor. I mean usually when your teams win you like to think it was because your team dominated rather than the other team just being crap, but it was the latter this time. Foxes players were so static in the field, like a team that knew that they had to win, and knew what they had to do to win, but just didn't know how to do it. I don't think the Swans really got out of third gear.
Super Paul Clement. My pub talk in the days running up to the game was that if we win I will actually start to believe, so I'm starting to believe. Palace and Sunderland just don't have the quality in their squads I think to stay up. Neither do Hull, but they're managing to pull results from somewhere. Leicester have plenty of good players and on paper they should be doing just fine, but God knows. It's a four way between Swansea, Leicester, Middlesbrough and Hull for 18th place.
Don't care, Leicester are winning the CL and getting relegated and it'll be worth it.
Also I don't know which Crystal Palace with no squad quality you're thinking of, but a team with Benteke, Remy, Zaha, Townsend, Puncheon, Cabaye et all is good enough to finish mid-table. Pardew, the ultimate confidence manager, was always going to see the team to this but surprised that the Big Sam Rescue Mission has fallen flat on its face. Maybe more pints of wine are needed.
I just don't rate any of those players, apart from maybe Cabaye. Everyone is still waiting for Benteke to return to his form for Villa but I wonder if that spell was the anomaly rather than the other way around. Remy isn't the kind of player I'd want in a high-stakes situation like the one Palace are currently in, and I dislike Wilfried Zaha's face.
I don't think Benteke was actually bad at Liverpool. 9 goals in 29 games is decent enough, particularly when most of those games came off the bench. But then the guy would not press or chase at all which made him Satan to old Jurgen so off he went.
Zaha's great at looking very good at football but produces virtually nothing.
Loic Remy is distinctly average.
Jason Puncheon is also average.
Benteke is good in the penalty box and strong in the air but wouldn't chase after a £50 note. A liability in a struggling ream.
Well, depends what you been by average! Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying any of them should move to a ~*Big Six*~ club. They all have proven track records as being some of the better players in midtable Premier League sides which is what Palace should be rather than relegation fodder.
Arsenal. Arsenal. Christ. Every bloody year. I just feel bad for Wenger now. What has become of me?
Capitulation is the team mantra at this point.
Arsenal on Stars in Their Eyes doing Guided By Voice's "Do the Collapse".
It's that time of year again...
HAS WENGER'S TIME COME??????? IS WENGER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN GENUINE TROUBLE??
Then we can forget all about it by the summer.
Genuinely putting a bet on for Arsenal to win the return leg 3-0.
Arsenal beat Sutton crisis over.
Claudio :(
The writing was on the wall, but yeah. Pretty sad downfall, all around.
Utterly ridiculous.
Win the premier league at 5000-1 odds, top your champions league group, have a realistic chance of getting to the Quarters of the champions league, get fired.
Don't even have a certain replacement for the job! Wow.
Yeah, great decision Leicester. Let's just get rid of the manager of the year and then replace him with Alan 'P45' Pardew.
Idiots.
Shows how integral Kante was to them. His mobility and ability to break up attacks was absolutely priceless to Leicester. Without him their slow centre back pairing get exposed time and time again.
If we end up winning this it will be theft of the highest order. Outplayed from start to now.
I'm pissed off too as I'd just signed that Gabbiadini fellow for my FF team without realising he wouldn't be playing in the Prem this week.
Was Kante really that essential? Without doubt he was a key part of their success, but to lose one player and to be in a relegation battle seems strange. A team shouldn't crumble so readily.
I just find it strange that a team game like Football can be decided on the merits of one player.
Why wouldn't Leicester play for Rainieri? Besides Kante leaving, what else changed over that summer period?
Yeah, managers get tossed aside very quickly.
If you'd asked me a week ago I'd have said Leicester.
Great cup final. Did we 'deserve' it? Hard to say. I think Southampton deserved better than what they had, but we have the cup and I'm ecstatic.
I'l regret celebrating on a school night, with a 9:00am meeting tomorrow, but screw it. Any excuse to party!
It seems Liverpool FC were pretty sure we were gonna win yesterday. They actually changed their Twitter bio the day before

Expect Leicester to now go on a four or five game run. :/
Underperforming teams just love to change their manager right before playing Liverpool and then shred them. Hull and Swansea are other beneficiaries of this tactic this season. Still, Liverpool's Robin Hood quest to take points from top teams and give them to the bottom half of the table will continue with a victory over Arsenal I don't doubt.
On the Leicester side of things, who needs Kante when you've got Ndidi? Absolutely bossed that midfield. Still don't think it was right to sack Ranieri, I lean more to the emotional side of football than the business side. I agree they should be ashamed the lazy buggers.
The only side of football I really get is the emotional side, so yeah, screw your guys, Leicester!
That was the most frustrating game of football I've watched since the first game against Hull, but at least we won that game!
So, uh...whew. How many Arsenal fans did we have left again?
I miss Cz and Resha.
So, uh...whew. How many PSG fans did we have left again?
I miss Endless.
Not a bad game at the Camp Nou by all accounts. I missed it. I thoroughly enjoyed our treacherous 1-1 draw in deepest, darkest Russia though.
I just realised that this Chelsea team are peak era Ferguson United. They ambled about a bit in August and September before becoming an unstoppable machine marching to league and cup success.
Good, fun game last night too. It's nice when two of your least favourite teams play as you can be a true neutral. I rather enjoyed both Marcos Rojo making Diego Costa his bitch and N'Golo Kante making Paul Pogba his bitch - everyone's a winner! And throw in a bonus Mourinho tantrum (doesn't matter who he is managing tbh) as well as some tasty fouls and tackles and I'm a happy lad.
Ugh Chelsea. I hate them more than any other team in the league by a long shot.
Hate the manager. 'They went out to kick Hazard' - Hazard is by far the most fouled player in the league yet you keep it until now against Mourinho to say something about it. Hazard actively looks for fouls & it's a big part of his game in helping the team. I dunno. Hate the players. Costa is a baby and his antics last night were embarrassing trying at every opportunity to get Rojo sent off. Hazard was diving around the place like he was in the Portuguese league. Hate their defensive style of play all season. Just hate everything about them.
My thoughts on some of the players after the match:
Kante - Took his goal well but didn't really have anything to do in the game after the red card, but since he's the overwhelming darling of the media this season he does a few good things and he's the MOTM all of a sudden. Don't get me wrong I think he's amazing but the reaction to him last night was confusing to me.
Hazard - I somehow forgot how good he was. Chelsea's best player by a mile. He's some player.
Rojo - Should be starting every game for United from now on, was terrific all game.
Valencia - Great performance with Rojo. Think he's my favourite Man United player atm.
Pogba - Did decent up until the sending off and then was a passenger all game. You could argue that it was a lot to ask going forward with 10 men at Stamford Bridge but he has to be involved more in the game for the reputation he has.
I thought the game was awful boring after the red card. It ruined it. Bias aside I really didn't think it was a sending off but Herrera should have known better. A part of much doesn't mind too much now that we can focus on Europe & CL qualification without any distractions as it's the number one aim. When we do get to play Chelsea at Old Trafford this season I just hope we win.
Man, every year I tell myself I'm going to watch the Premier League and I never end up doing it.
Is it too late to start watching this season? Which team should I cheer for? (my closest friend is a Chelsea fan, but I'm honestly pretty uninformed about all of the teams)
Don't support Chelsea, everyone will hate you.
Here: https://www.buzzfeed.com/robinedds/w...ld-you-support
Although I got Everton so... :erm:
Haha I got Villa. :jess:
Damn, Leicester's into the last eight of the Champion's League! Quite the achievement for a first-timer.
>Fraudiola EXPOSED
But can he do it on a wet rainy night in Stoke?
Craig Shakespeare to pull a Di Matteo and win the Champions League with Leicester.
Jamie Vardy and Samir Nasri, cheats in arms.
But Jamie Vardy is a Brave English Lion and used to play non league football so it's okay.
Jamie Vardy is a scumbag who had one lucky season.

Question for Manchester United fans of Eyes on: How does this trout make you feel? It would smurfing piss me right off. I'm pissed off on your behalf and it's not even my club. Even putting aside his tinfoil hat conspiracies, we're going to lose to Middlesbrough? Bloody hell. I have no love for United but that's an insult to a huge club like that. Shades of Davey Moyes or Roy "League Two Northampton Town will be a formidable challenge" Hodgson.
Nope, not on at all. Not what I want to hear from my manager.
It reminds me of the sh*t that Moyes used to say. "We come here as second-favourites" Even if that were true you don't say that as manager of Man Utd or any big club.
imagine the players hearing their manager say "we'll probably lose on Sunday"... that will fill the starting eleven with confidence.
I'm also reminded of Alexis Sanchez and how he's pissed off at how he's having to carry Arsenal's bottlers every week. Does someone like Zlatan think "smurf me, I don't want to settle for a club who settles for losing to a team in the relegation zone"?
Also, Atletico were the last team I wanted Leicester to get! Their infamously tight defence is the paper to Leicester's rock. The fairytale ends here, although it's been a hell of a ride. Also I'm going to sound a bit football hipster here but Monaco vs Dortmund sounds smurfing tasty. No quiet 0-0 there, methinks.
feel free to quote me when leicester win and Monaco - Dortmund is indeed a 0-0 snoozefest and call me a know nothing bell end.
When I see articles like that from my team's manager I don't even read them. It's honestly not something that should ever be done.
So it's March. How are the Arsenal doing? Ah yes, of course...
The smurfers are still going to go on an unbeaten run for the rest of the season to deny us (and your boys unless you can win the UEL) fourth now that the pressure is off them, you just watch.
No-one is denying us. We've had sixth place in the bag for months now. It's ours.
Eh, three games in hand.
Don't even need sixth tbh, we're already assured of European football next season.
That was a cracking game. I thoroughly enjoyed Llalana's Ronnie Rosenthal impression.
I say it twice a year but Liverpool v Man City is the best fixture in the league. Also that was more of a 2012 vintage Torres than a Rocket Ronnie!
I'm sad we lost the Davie Moyes chat but now we can pick on my other favourite football thread victim: Jesse Lingard. 100k a week? What? As it's Premier League football and the amounts are stupid anyway, what I mean is that this is insane relative to other footballers. Christian Eriksen, for example, is on 75k.
Jesse Lingard is not good. Well, he's OK. Not 100K a week OK though.
Also, glad to see my team pushing on to grab this 6th place spot. It's well within our grasp now.
You wish. It's Liverpool's. The collapse is here! I like Jurgen Klopp but he has that Wengeresque quality of stubbornness that Pep Guardiola also has. He wants to do things his way and doesn't like to deviate from it, and so things like game changing tactical shifts and substitutions just don't happen. I also think he's tried to stick to his principles when it comes to the transfer market and that's left us with a paper thin squad. Outside of the sublime Firmino - Coutinho - Mane axis, of which one of them always seems to be injured or unavailable, our back ups are either playing a striker out on the wing or else a pair of 17 year old Welsh lads.
17 year old Welsh lads who both randomly got called up for the full Welsh national team and you don't see Old Manus having a moan about them like he did Raheem Sterling, by the way. :colbert:
Our run-in is horrible. We've got Spurs and Arsenal away in our last three matches. Not to mention our rescheduled derby at the Etihad. I think Liverpool have played a lot of their tough matches. Not that it matters when it comes to Liverpool, I suppose!
Yeah, seriously. I'd rather face United and Spurs than Crystal Palace and Hull.
So much sport this weekend. It is also my first cricket pre-season friendly (who on earth decided that cricket in early April should be a thing). I'm trying to push all memories of what happened at a football stadium in Morfa the other night out of my mind by spending as much time as possible this weekend on the sofa watching the golf and the gee-gees.
e:
My Dyer > Sterling comment was probably my greatest contribution to the football thread canon and we are all better for it :colbert:Quote:
17 year old Welsh lads who both randomly got called up for the full Welsh national team and you don't see Old Manus having a moan about them like he did Raheem Sterling, by the way.
I don't even know how long ago the Dyer > Sterling debate was and yet here we are. Premier League champion Nathan Dyer and £50m Raheem Sterling. What a time to be alive.
Speaking of Gee-Gees, I've got Pleasant Company (16/1) in my work sweeps and I'm not too displeased about that.
I'm not sure which one I drew in our sweepstakes.
Probably One Way Ticket to the Glue Factory at 3000-1.
Moyes is such a fraud.
Picture the scene: Arsene Wenger and Sam Allardyce casually enjoying a sauna together. Then, just because he can, Big Sam gets up, strides over to Wenger and after seizing a handful of his hair, proceeds to vigorously rub the Frenchman's face into his sweaty, heaving man boobs.
That's a great image to go to bed with.
Sounds like something you'd read on a fanfiction website.
And yet it is no work of fiction, for it occurred on the pitch at Selhust Park last night.
As much as Mr. Mckenzie is a thoroughly unpleasant bloke and should find a new profession, race hate? Really? I'm sure I've got an African ancestor somewhere down the line.
Also currently in a pub in Watford. I'm 4 wins out of my last 5 Swansea games so I guess now is as good a time as any to use my good luck. Double posting because the mobile view on this forum is knackered.
Nah, you'll get battered at Watford. Enjoy your two-hours of live misery. I reckon City will be soundly beaten by the Saints as well in the late kick off!
I'm actually quite looking forward to the big Old Trafford showdown tomorrow. I'm expecting us to play really well, not score, get a man sent off then lose 1-0 to a Kante daisy-cutter.
Yeah, I think it's tenuous to get him on that of all the genuinely terrible trout he's said over the years. Hillsborough is the most infamous, but he also openly wrote that it was impossible for heterosexuals to get AIDS and that anyone saying the opposite was producing gay propaganda. In a national smurfing newspaper. Although I guess the word newspaper is a strong word to describe the Sun. So yeah while I think it's a weird thing to pull him up on, my reaction to him being in hot water over it is this
I suppose it's like Al Capone. Get the bastard up on something, as long as he gets what he deserves
ffs. wank wank wank wank
leroy explain yourself please
No Ibra, no Henrik. Mourhino making his priorities clear.
I agree completely. It's Europa League or bust for us now. We've got a great chance of winning it too.
Hope we can grind out a draw today though.
I love putting the boot into old Moyes. http://www.football365.com/news/prem...the-statistics
Mark Hughes is awful too while we're at it.
West Ham, about the only team Sunderland can get a point off.
Sigh.
What a lovely day of football!
Big Ben chimes again!
Still don't think he got a fair crack of the whip at LFC. Reap what you sow.
Well it's looking like I'm going to win my bet with my mate over the who will finish higher this season Spurs or Man Utd (bet was made on last day of the season last year. My friend was very certain Mourhino was going to make all the difference for Utd).
Probably go down the local pub on Weds for Spurs v Crystal Palace but I won't be having a beer with that as I am on anti-biotics so depends on what channel it is on and what the lads are thinking.
El Classico has topped off a perfect day of football.
You think an away win at Burnley is a perfect day? Talk about low standards :p
An away win anywhere is a good result but a City loss, a Liverpool loss and a five-goal El Classico thriller = perfect day :)
For God's sake stop making me want to believe
Dominant first half from us. Should be four or five, not one. Swansea just haven't turned up.
Also, Fabianski should be off for that. Penalty and a red card.
Hmm.
Attachment 71976
Every game is gonna count at this point. City and Liverpool should, on paper, come out on top, especially City with their three home games. But hey, Premier League, bugger knows what'll happen. The game between Arsenal and United will pretty much determined which of them has a snowball's chance at top four of the two sides, I'd say.
I would put money on all four teams losing/drawing their remaining fixtures, such is my confidence in their love of utterly buggering everything up.
I'm guessing you left Spurs of the list as you're presuming a Chelsea. Spurs 1 - 2 result is all but guaranteed?
Must say our run out is bloody tough tbh (Spurs) but I think we've got it down
I'm not saying I'm assuming a 1-2 with Chelsea-Spurs, but I'm assuming Spurs don't screw up to the point that they also don't get spot #3 or #4. But in all likelihood it will be Spurs & Chelsea in the top couple of spots, they'd have to drop points in at least three of their four games to go below that, I think.
What in the actual name of smurf was that? Goal of the forever and it came from Lucas and Can? Bloody hell. We're in four horseman territory.
So it's come to this
Beat Hull to stay in the football league in 2003
Now beat Hull (via Sunderland and W Brom) to stay in the Premier League
I believe in Leon
BIG SAM
So Chelsea are Champions then with three games to spare! I mean after a certain point they were the firm favourites. Apparently Conte is getting a pay rise. Kante gets a second title.
Also on the poll I voted for Chelsea to win so I get that, I guess. Do I win something?
Depends. When did you vote on that poll? Last week...?
Glad to see we finally cemented that sixth place finish. I was getting worried.
Now I just have to suffer two more home draws before our make-or-break game in Stockholm.
Now that the Premier League is pointless barring the inevitable lasagne attack at Anfield, I want to big up Dirk Kuyt. Scoring a hat trick at age 36 in the last game of his career to win his beloved Feyenoord their first league title in nearly 20 years. What a wonderful story. He's like an actual Roy of the Rovers but twice as good looking. And the thing is, he's not all that great at football. He just puts his head down and works really, really hard, and is a genuinely lovely bloke who does a hell of a lot for charity.
Summary: If you don't love Dirk Kuyt you're a rubbish human being and you should just climb into the nearest bin.
Dirk :bou::bou::bou::bou:
Look, he didn't mean to score that hat trick against you. It just sort of happened.
I actually have no idea when I did the poll :p Either way I was joking.
Not sure where Arsenal will be next season. Will Wenger stay? That question's been hovering over Arsenal like a Damocles Sword the last few years.
It's not spot fixing when it's EBJT :shobon:
Also 15th place finish, going through three managers (only club to do so without being relegated?) including the absolutely shocking Brad Bobley who is hereby banned from these shores forever more, the Most Anonymous Club Record Signing Of All Time, half the board being accused of corruption, our captain being sold without a replacement, and being in the relegation zone for virtually the whole season? Yes please. The only thing that could have made the last day better would have been Liverpool finishing 5th.
What why :colbert:
Like, I mean you obviously have the "ha ha Liverpool" aspect but I mean Arsenal fans are just as if not even more unhinged, and it's not as if there's been a lack of chances to mock Liverpool for no Champions League qualification over the past 8 years or so.
Some might say it was just to get a reaction...
What's wrong with just saying "Psychotic I'm feeling kind of lonely and would like a talk?"
I'm happy Liverpool got top 4 instead of Arsenal. The difference being they'll actually trouble the top teams in the CL and I look forward to seeing them.
Massive congrats to The Captain for winning the EoFF League in FPL. I had a shocking season finishing well down. I couldn't complete 'La Decima'.
Just this once, in light of the terrible business this week, I will wish United well in the game tonight. As much as I love seeing Mourinho fail, some things are more important and I'm sure it'd give the city a much needed boost.
Congrats Man United! Well deserved victory.
My Spurs killed it this year, I am proud of them.
Congratulations Manchester United. Now get back to being the face of true and pure evil in English football. Ta. ;)
Imagine Arsene Wenger dressed in a blue caterpillar coat stamping on Piers Morgan's head forever.
This is the most joyous of news
Arsene Wenger is the ultimate troll. I love him!
As an update to this, I have received over the past few months an England badge, an England pen, an England notebook and as of today I now have an England tie.
http://alfredbrown.co.uk/wp-content/...eam-Suit-2.jpg
Of the three in the photo, it's the one Ross Barkley is sporting. It's actually pretty smurfing wearable (No England logos or anything), and is really nice fine silk quality too.
To think, it might have almost adorned the neck of Fraser Forster or Jesse Lingard and has instead ended up with me. How smurfing gutted would you be when you catch up with your old mates at the tie school reunion and they're talking about how they got Harry Kane or Adam Lallana and got to go to Euro 2016, and you have to admit you got some stupid twat from the Midlands who posts on a Final Fantasy board. Oh well, at least I've never lost to Iceland.
Guy looks like a goddam zombie in this pic. Are we due the next thread yet? I forget when we do that.

Ah give it another week or two then we can have a new one. Still transfer bollocks season right now.
Liverpool must keep Coutinho at all costs. Even if Neymar leaves, Liverpool losing their best player with the season rapidly approaching would be a hammer blow to the squad. Overall, I'm a little mixed on the business. While I think we're pretty firm in attack, we still need to sign a top central defender. If VvD is really going to force his way off of Southampton, then Liverpool must pony up the funds for him. Otherwise, the team could be very strong and has a bit more depth. Still I think it's lacking that truly elite attacker, especially if Coutinho is moving to central midfield.
A fit Mane along Salah and Firmino upfront is strong and if Sturridge or Origi or even the new English kid could find some consistency I think we'll still score goals in bunches. Midfield seems deep if Hendo is over his injury and Can continues to progress. I think Lallana and Coutinho are the surest bets to start but goaltender and the defense still seems very iffy.
I think the team overall is much the same as last year, though if we shore up the defensive side, I like our chances of a repeat Top 4 place.
Also, are PSG even rich enough to afford throwing all this money around?
Take care all.
We've had the Community Shield and we're still sitting in the 2016-17 thread? Nope. No sir. None of this. I'm starting a new one.
My bad we already had a thread I just posted in the wrong one!
