I don't know if there's any truth to that, Cloudane, but it really sounds good.

I don't know if there's any truth to that, Cloudane, but it really sounds good.
if you guys haven't seen movie clips of it then check is site out http://www.adventchildren.net/ff7ac/media/movies.htm it has some pretty good information on FF7: Advent Children.
Cloudane,it does make alot of sense.I'll have to try and find out if those two words are the same...And,i mean, who knows what was in the creater sephiroths body was sealed in.Weapon came out of it,and when the barrier broke, who knows what else could have seeped into the ground.
Well Weapon was also made by the planet in case something drastic (i.e. Summoning of Meteor) were to happen to the planet.
i never quite understood that whole peice. The weapon was for that purpos, but yet it started to kill people...And tore up the planet...odd...:: blinks ::
Well it attacked Shin-Ra because Shin-Ra was a threat to the Planet by sucking up all the Mako Energy for the cannon. When all the Mako is gone, then the Planet dies. Weapon sensed it and attacked Shin-Ra. Why it attacked others, I don't know.
I have an answer for Cloudane and the others who were wondering about the star thing...
Japanese for world is ¢E (sekai), not ¯ ihoshij
which means 'star'. In Kingdom Hearts, for example, a game which deals with multiple worlds, 'sekai' is the word used (at least in the Ansem Reports I've read).
However....
In the Japanese version of Final Fantasy Seven, Sephiroth refers to the Planet not as 'sekai', world, but instead as 'hoshi', star.
He does this at least twice that I know of; once being his infamous
±Ì ¯ Ì ³Èé ãpÒI
'I am one of the rightful heirs to this planet!' line.
If you wish for further confimation of this, you can go to the following link and look at the kanji yourself.
I'm neither native to Japan or fluent in Japanese, though, so I could be wrong. ^__^
Anyways, what would a planet look like from far away?
Yup, a star.
Hopefully, I'll be able to shed a bit more light on the issue after playing my new copy of FFVII International when it comes in several weeks....
**************
Now, I'd like to share my personal theory on this "Star Scar Syndrome" thing.
Sephiroth originally wanted to summon Meteor to damage the planet. Then he planned on absorbing the energy the planet would try to heal itself with. This, due to the size of Meteor, would have to be a LOT of Lifestream. But...what would happen if there wasn't enough to fix itself with?
Aeris (most likely) was the reason the extra Lifestream came out to try to stop Meteor when Holy failed. Maybe there's a side effect to using so much of the planet's lifeforce. It was already "slowly but surely" (to quote Barret) being drained out of the planet by Shinra, so what if the strain of both that, creating the Weapons, and fending off Meteor was just too much for the planet to handle?
The Lifestream is compromised of life, right? Therefore, it stands to reason that if it began to run dry, it would need more life. Through Bugenhagen's visual demonstration, we discovered that the souls of all living things on the Planet are what essentially compose Lifestream. And if the Lifestream needed more life, where would it take it from first? Surely not the innocent wildlife of the planet.
It would take it from the humans.
So...what I'm saying is that perhaps the Lifestream itself is what caused the "Star Scar Syndrome". I don't think we know yet whether this disease or whatever actually kills people. If it doesn't, perhaps the Lifestream takes a bit out of each person's soul. Not enough to kill, but....
It would be especially ironic if this was true, considering how the Planet would be doing exactly the same thing to the people at the end of the story as what the Shinra were doing to the Planet at the beginning of FFVII.
Where exactly Jenova fits into the mess I haven't really decided yet. In any case, an Planet with a weakened Lifestream should be much easier to take over, like a virus or bacteria strain is more likely to conquer an human or animal with an already weakened immune system.
Any ideas about my theory? And/or has anyone brought this particular theory up before, or am I the first?
wow i like it nice theory, very different to all the others that have been formulated so far
Thanks for the clarification Ryuu... interesting. I like the idea that it's basically "Planet scar syndrome" (to us, wonder how it'll be finally translated) which makes a lot of sense. I think there's a fine line between stars and planets anyway, though no doubt astronomers would disagree with that one :)
Your theory works well, too. I still think the guy is Jenova (visual clues too... his hair style and colour is similar to what I remember of Jenova's head in various places... the Nibelheim reactor maybe, or was it green there?) but I prefer your theory of how the syndrome is inflicted.
How Jenova would fit into this if it *is* him/her/it... I don't know either :)
Even though I have Japanese roots, I'm not completely fluent, but "Planet Scar Syndrome" makes a bunch of sense since the planet was in near danger of extinction. So 'Scar' seems to work a lot better in this case.
Amazing theroy. It brings up a bunch of new points and ideas...And a new fanfiction idea to ;) but you really shed some light on that topic for me.
Cloudane....I really like your name for some odd reason. I just think it sounds nice, and it's original (at least that I've seen). It's much better than the standard Cloud2384782983724 at least...
So you think that the grey Seph look-alike is Jenova?
That's an interesting idea. The game dealt heavily with puppets. Maybe we'll finally meet the puppetmaster.
Hm...another major question was never answered in the game:
What exactly is Jenova?
It's pretty much safe to assume she (or he...or it...or ANO KATA!) is an extraterrestrial, due to all of the 'calamity from the skies' lines in FFVII.
However, is it a planet hopping space alien?
If so, how closely would it resemble Lavos' from Chrono Triggerparasitic traits?
I always thought the two games were similar in many ways...
Perhaps Jenova too is a galactic parasite that comes to a planet, leeches its Lifestream dry, and then moves on to the next. If that's true, imagine how old it's got to be. The distance between stars is vast. The time it would take to travel between them is pretty long. Hundreds, thousands...millions of years?
And if that's true, I'm sure it's dealt with resistance by the native citizens of planets it has destroyed before...
Cloud and the gang could be going against something that has eons upon eons of experience killing planets. Quite a scary prospect.
Sorry I kind of rambled. You can tell I watched too many Star Trek episodes as a young child....
I just hope they finally answer lots of things in the movie!
....not that it'll actually happen.
BTW, has everyone been to the Japanese FFVII AC site yet?
LOL thanks Ryuu... in actual fact it's about one of the least original names I could've come up with... it's just Cloud + Zidane :p My Everquest name, Cloudien, is maybe a little more customised (-ien sounded more fantasy like)
Anyway....
Yet another excellent theory - I never made the CT connection, but that too makes sense. Maybe Jenova has indeed done this several times before, and knows exactly how to prey upon natural greed and influence a planet's inhabitants to weaken the planet they live on.
That would also liven up the story and enhance the characters - can Cloud and company finally stop the being that has been destroying planets for so long, so many times? Would it even be 'right' to... is Jenova really evil and greedy or just a hungry being trying to survive?
Thought-provoking stuff!
(I watched Trek a lot as a kid, too... always knew it'd come in handy one day!)
as far as how old it is...if i remember correctly, they found jenova in a structure(pillar I always thought, but it was never clearifyed where they found her),and she was said to be 2000 years old...But it may have been 200000 years old,and they may have been talking about the struction. If i can manage it,i'll try and find out again.
Also, on the maine EOFF site, they have posted a link to a trailer for AC.You'v probly already seen it(or...didnt see it because its to fuzzy....) but...it basicly clears up whos being droped in the water. Also,Cloud putting his sword in the ground...does anyone else strongly elieve that this was done for Zack?
Yes i believe it was done for Zack, the spot where he was gunned down by Shinra troops. I heard it is Japanese warrior tradition to do this, but i may have heard wrong :p
i head the same thing. That, and the fact that it is the same spot lead me to believe this(and a fangirls hope he'd be in it...-.-;; ). Well, with this said,do you think that they'll show flashbacks of Zack? There is the Sephiroth flame scean, and we know Zack was there at the time...
I think that may be likely, seeing as Zack played a huge role in ff7 (even though you did not see his character a lot, it was because of him that we learnt so much about Cloud etc)
so ok i think that its gonna be a movie. the "sephiroth" is a clone but one with a cool fighting stile! its not the same sephiroth as in the crater. as im informed the story happens after the end of FF7. so seph is dead. cloud, red XIII, barret, tifa, cid, vincent, yuffie and erverybody who survived the end ist still alive and maybe is in the story. if it is a film, im gonna watch it till i die and if it is a game ill play it till i got some lvl 99 chars (what could be after 60 hrs of gaming :P)
so far
psycho
i thought it was anounced as a movie...-.-;;
anywho, im with you 100 percent.:b you'll never see me again because i'll be dead infront of my Tv,FFAC playing
Or...here's another theory:
Jenova IS Lavos!
:D
Just kidding.
Yah, it really does sound like he's talking to Zack when he sticks the sword in the ground, ne?
"Decided to live for your sake", etc...
(Yes, Cloudane, I figured it was those two combined.... I just had't seen it before though, so it's original to me.)
:)
ahhhh, i found something!
Advent Children
PLEASE go here. Read the two clips they got up and the theroys. Im not sure if anyones posted this site up yet,but i havent seen it befor.
oh!and a wounderful picture that PROVES that the caped falling man is vincent.
http://ff7ac.net/media/ffx2/ffx2int_good_16.jpg
Just standard theories to tell you the truth.
"The opening lines in the movie are spoken by a little girl, and they are something like: "Once upon a time, there was a warrior who defeated the evil known as Sephiroth. His name was...Cloud Strife." " - this isn't true... I've seen the real translation from a few sources and that wasn't it :)
Nice image of Vincent. You can even just about see his face!
There's been another trailer recently with screenshots on www.adventchildren.net that further prove his identity too.
ohh,i know they are theroys, but its nice to kinda get a general feel about what others think its going to be about.thanks for the link
BTW there's a new high-res trailer (presumably where they got the Vincent image from) at that site including the images of Barrett, Aeris's funeral etc. Worth checking out, it's an excellent trailer and really gives you the excited fuzzies :)
Looks like the whole party's gonna be back - Barret and Vincent (obviously), I think Tifa and Yuffie too.
Although I'm not sure I buy the whole finding Jenova's head thing all over again... I kinda liked how I defeated JENOVA ABSOLUTE, not JENOVA PARTIALLY THERE.
Yeah. It seems everyone's back. It would be kind of unfair for Squenix to put Vincent in but not Yuffie.
*can't wait for Cid*
And I recommend the new high-res trailer mentioned above. It's pretty good.
Here's the link for the trailer released with FFX-2 International plus Last Mission. This one is really good. No subtitles yet, so it sucks for those who can't speak conversational Japanese. It's on a public server, so it could take a while to download. It took me 2 hours on a T3 connection.
i have a friend on the inside he said that the movie will come out frist then the game deepending upon the movie and how much it will make he has a advanced copy of some scencs from the movie it is all computer animated and it rocks. but the last battle is cool u will just have to wait and see my friends what the furtures has to bring. he might even put i on the sight may be but he might not i don't know
Ahh yes, another "friend on the inside". :rolleyes2 When will these ever end?Quote:

Subbed version of the DVD-quality trailer mentioned earlier:
http://mokkori66.free.fr/ff7ac_hq_subbed.avi
wow very nice, thats given me a few new ideas :)
How in the hell did it compress from 79 mb to 23mb without chaning quailty? I haven't watched it yet, but it boggles the mind. :Oo:
EDIT
Fair enough, I guess it can be done.
hmmmm, i think a game wud b cool but im still really hoping that it is actually gona b made and then released in europe. it luks so cool, i mean, its got Sephiroth in it -- wot more do u want?!?!?
p.s. Sephiroth ROCKS!!!!!!!! :D :p
Yes . i can confirm this picture is true .. check this webbie ...http://www.ffwa.org/news/25-09-2003.html
It's definite, confirmed, utterly beyond doubt that this film is being made. Unless there's some kind of financial catastrophe at SquareEnix, it'll certainly get released, and an English-language version has been mentioned.

You know how Cartman always says "kick ass" in that screwy voice? That's where I was aiming at.
Oh, weird, when I replied to that post, instead of posting the picture of Cartman, it showed the URL to the picture. :) I just thought you were saying that that picture of Cartman was kickass...
Ha, yeah, I noticed that myself and had to edit it.
Oh...so I'm not going crazy.
Anyway, back on the topic of FFVII:AC, does anyone else think Barret's cornrows look really stupid?
And can anyone else see Aeris's skirt and boots by zooming into the hole in the KKK-esque cloak?
 OH MY GOSH!Your right!Thats...i thought that would have been hte original Sephiroth under that, seeing how my theory was the others were clones...Aeris?!...goodness
i agree with you on the barret thing...he looks...er...well,like he was smacked in the face with a board...
Edit: See the flowers on the windowcill?...connection?
Yeah, I noticed the flowers too. I lot of people are gonna be mad now, because that stupid woman was supposed to die and stay dead! Including me.
That girl looks too blond to be Aeris. If it is her, I will become officially disgusted with Square.
Noooooooooooooooooooooo~!! Aeris is dead. Aeris is dead. *slowly goes mad*
I am going to personally kill her until she is dead.
Aye!It hasnt been announced yet!Maybe its a clone!
(( yes, obsessed with clones now.ATTACK OF THE CLONES!...wait,wait,no....thats starwars...))
Well in the trailer with the Aeris' burial, she has blonde hair. It could be her. But I'd imagine after two years of being in the water you'd being to rot. She looks too intact to be Aeris, but who knows? I could be wrong.Quote:

Yeah, after two years of being in the water a body would most likely just be bones, considering that fish love to eat decaying flesh and all. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it isnt her.
'Twould be one hell of a twist if that WAS Aeris, and she WAS dead...that would explain the sheet...maybe they need her for something (being a Cetra and all) and they're reviving/regenerating her, or maybe they just need her corpse/flesh, and the wheelchair was just there for convenient transport.
Maybe the Silver-Haired man is a canibal.
...
It could happen.

Ewww....
Anyways, her hair was most likely blond because of the light...My hair is probly the same color as Aeris's,and it does look blond in bright light
Maybe the last Cetra can't die...
Maybe...they are using stem cell research to reproduce Aeris parts
Maybe... i will give birth to a monkey and its name will be Aeria
Maybe... the sorta blonde hair on my arms are aeris...
what if... aeris... stays dead? nah... couldn't happen
/sarcasm
ohhh,your horrid...;)
I happened to be reading 'I know what lies beneath the snowfeilds',a fanfiction.Im...maybe...chapter 2 or 3...and i was thinking of one of the characters as a clone...so maybe its an aeris clone...
Hey, has anyone heard the latest music from AC? The Promised Land and Toki no Hourousha. What's weird is Toki no Hourousha is kind of a redo of the VI theme. What's with that?
Are you sure it isnt just some fan adding this music? And Final Fantasy songs are reused and remixed a lot in different games.
http://ff7ac.net
Looks pretty official to me.
They even have lyrics. Even the Crystal Theme!
EDIT: Maybe I should have read that a little more closely. It does say "possible music". Guess I just got caught up in the momemt. But you should still check it out.
I'd have to see it on either the official site (cause that isnt it... is it? If so, nevermind) or on more than one fan site.
Mkay, here's a random thought. Let's say that is Aeris there in the wheelchair. Maybe it's Aeris' body, but Jenova's mind controlling it. Jenova's body was destroyed by Cloud and co., and so was Sephy's body, leaving Jenova no where to run to. So instead, she/it headed for the uninhabited body of the last Cetra. The problem? Since Jenova's definately not a Cetra, and Aeris didn't have any Jenova cells in her body, Jenova is extremely limited in her temporary home. Hence the reason why it's crucial that Jenova's head go missing, and would explain why the people with Jenova cells are bowing to her, and yeah...@_@; Like I said, just a random thought.
That's an interesting theory, HanaKirei...
The party's greatest friend is re-born, but really she's just a vessel for the greatest evil... that'd make it really hard for everyone to fight her. Seeing a dear friend's body, but knowing that it's really the one entity that wants to kill them more than anything else...
That's pretty good, except possessing an already dead body would be pointless, would it not? I mean you'd be sitting there, unable to move, staring at your eyelids, dead. Ehh, who knows?!
But then, we don't know the full extent of the powers possessed by Jenova's head-portion; nor do we know what becomes of a dead Cetra. Just as Jenova's cells were still viable after two thousand years encased in rock, maybe a Cetra's body clings to life in a similar way...
Whatever they've come up with, I'm sure it'll be interesting and unexpected :)
Touche! Let's just hope it doesn't flop like TSW did. But I'm looking at the brighter side, and it will be good. BTW, has there been any confirmed day or month in which the DVD will be released?
all i can think of is frankensiten...
nope, sorry, no clue when the dvds comming out.hope by the end of the year atleast, for here in america
Yeah, I know Summer of '04 was for Japan, but I haven't heard anything about America. But if you can read Japanese, a Gameshark does wonders since it allows you to play any region DVD.
This movie will be great
No one's mentioned the two guys that are fighting along side the 'Sephy lookalike' have they?
Nope but they have guns.
One of them reminds me of Dyne. *shrugs*
TSW flopped for reasons, not just because it was a Square movie. It's unfair to say "Square made a bad movie, therefore evey movie they make is bad by default". That reasoning only applies to teen comedies.Quote:

We'll have to wait 'n' see... AC could be good, could be bad; personally, I'm hoping for 'utterly brilliant', and that's a real possibility as long as they writers maintain the high standard they're capable of.:)
I wasn't trying to imply that. If that's how I came across, then sorry. But the second part... so true D, sooo true.Quote:

I think that Cloud will die in the first 10 minutes of the movie.
that would be great....
What a twist....
heh... <--- Always wanted Sephiroth to Win anyways :p
Nah, no worries, I never thought that. Didn't want others to get any crazy ideas, though:hat:Quote:

I'm hoping they don't kill any of the major characters, not without a really good reason.
Like, for instance, Vincent sacrificing himself in a seemingly hopeless battle, in order to 'pay for his sins'... something poignant like that would be tolerable.
Edit: Not saying I want them to kill Vincent or anything.
[q="Big D"]Like, for instance, Vincent sacrificing himself in a seemingly hopeless battle, in order to 'pay for his sins'... something poignant like that would be tolerable.[/q]
Good thing Big D's not a writer. :p
ohhhh man, i saw this and almost wet myself. I think the silver haired man is somehow a genetic spin off of either jenova, or sephy.
I hope in the end Sephiroth kills everyone and the whole world is ingulfed in flames and under his controll. That would be the best thing _Ever_
I'm just sayin', that if someone's going to die, it's got to be for a good reason, not just a convenient way of avoiding plot implications, or something.Quote:

I'm just messing with you guys, I know what you mean, but "paying for his sins" also seems a bit evasive. Didn't he conclude at the end of Disc II "Hojo was the one who should have slept" anyways?
It'd also be interesting to see whether the AVALANCHE guys ever faced any kind of penalty or judgement for the lives they took during their terrorist days... sure, they saved the world, but they did kill innocent people before then. Did the people of the world feel that they needed to face some kind of consequences?
I figured the consequences they suffered were the loss of Biggs, Jesse, and Wedge. But who knows
Heh. By the time this movie comes out, we'll already have analyses and considered every possible plot twist, so there'll be hardly any surprises anyway. *Sigh*
Oh yeah... this isn't directed at anyone in particular, but now's probably as good a time as any to say it:
If you're revealing important plot information about Advent Children, please mark it with 'spoiler' tags - [spoi>ler] at the start, and [/spo>iler] at the end. All of the text in between will be darkened, so nobody can read it unless they highlight it.
(SPOILER)See? It's that easy!
This'll just help to prevent the plot of Advent Children from being spoiled for those who want to wait 'n' see.
See, I think that it would be great to kill of a character for no reason what-so-ever. Like there's a group with Cloud in it, and Clouds leading the group through a town/city and he turns around to talk to the group when he walks out into the street and gets blindsided by a bus and it turned into a pancake.Quote:

Of course I'd like to see it just to see how many people start crying and whining in the movie theater. I can't believe how attached people get to characters in a video game. But that's just me. :hat:
Wait, they're gonna premier this in theaters?
No.
It might get shown privately in a Japanese theatre or two, but it sure as heck won't get a mainstream cinematic release in the rest of the world. They couldn't earn much of a profit by showing movies that only a handful of people in each city would want to see.
My friend told me that she read the Japanese and American versions of the movie are going to be released close together, so hopefully it's true and we dont' have to wait 6 months after the Jap version is out :D
It's a straight-to-DVD release, and there's been no official word whether or not it's going to come to America at all. Of course it will, though, because by golly, America loves Cloud.
Cloud Strife for president!
First item on his agenda: send a force to North Korea to take away their Black Materia.
Second item - construct someone who actually looks like him in real life.
I wonder what happened the the Weapons? Do you think they were totaly destroyed, or will they come to help the planet once more?
It would be too much to try to squeeze the Weapons into the story, and there's really no reason to do so, since every last one of them was clearly annihilated in FFVII.
Yup, I'd be quite saddened to see something like Weapon wasting time on AC when there's so little time for a plot in the first place :)
Yeah that's true, just wondering anyways. Hopefully they extend it pass the 60 minute length mark, like a normal movie.

There's no release date for anywhere but Japan.
Damn, I'm going to move Japan over here *grabs Japan and drags accross the globe*.
On a slightly more sane level - Is there even any rumours about releases dates?
I need Advent Children dammit...
No! I want Japan! *tugs*
If anyone gets Japan, It should be me! Advent Children will be released where I am last...probobly. Thats the way things go in England. We get all the good games YEARS after Japan...*cries* And I know Advent Children is not a game, but it is most likley to follow the game pattern. *cries again*
Erm,buy it off e-bay from some american who owns it if you det desperat for it:P
i hope we see it by december...that would be very nice.
Yes, it will be available on Ebay as soon as it's released in Japan (though I'd wait for the American version for the subtitles) and on peer to peer networks as well. It'll be easily available for everyone.
okay, just got done with abit of roming and i found this:
http://www.adventchildren.net/ff7ac/...20040414_1.htm
Could the appearance of a zack figure mean that he may appear in Advent Children? What do you think?
Well, we know there's an Aeris flashback, so maybe there's one for Zack, too.
Thought I'd start making a name for myself with this thread. I've been avidly following AC info from the previous forum, so I hope the trend continues here. Here's some new info that's bound to get you drooling.
Square-Enix USA Website Updated with E3 Info
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Date: May 3, 2004
Posted by: Summoner Yuna
The official Square-Enix website has been updated with a press release on the games that it will be showing at the E3 expo next week. There is a small paragraph on Advent Children which refers to technological advancements enabling a new look for the world of Final Fantasy VII. It also mentions that no release date has been set for the US as yet.
Of further interest is the mention of a FFVII related mobile game called "Before Crisis - Final Fantasy VII". A trailer from the game will be showing at E3 which is said to take mobile gaming to a whole new level. Whether this is referring to a mobile phone game or something for the upcoming PSP is not yet known. Also a 3D modeling sample of Cloud will be on display.
Here is the extract from the site which refers to Advent Children:
FINAL FANTASY® VII ADVENT CHILDREN
Two years after the events of FINAL FANTASY VII, the ruins of Midgar stand as testament to the sacrifices that were made in order to bring peace. However, the world will soon face a new menace. A mysterious illness is spreading fast. Old enemies are astir. And Cloud, who walked away from the life of a hero to live in solitude, must step forward yet again...
FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN is a fully developed, CG-work sequel to FINAL FANTASY VII, the seminal 1997 PlayStation hit. Through approximately 60 minutes of beautifully crafted DVD content, FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN revisits the rich universe and memorable characters of FINAL FANTASY VII two years after its dramatic conclusion. Technological advancements bring a visually stunning new look to the city of Midgar and its residents.
FINAL FANTASY VII, originally released in Japan for the PlayStation console on January 31, 1997 (September 7, 1997 in North America), redefined the standard for role-playing games (RPGs) and has since achieved record-shattering sales of over 9 million units worldwide. Fans have long requested a true sequel, and with FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN, their wishes are granted.
The release date for FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN will be announced at a later date.
The page also covers all of the games that will be shown at E3. This includes Kingdom Hearts 2, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Front Mission 4 and the Final Fantasy XI Expansion Pack. Also included in the list is Final Fantasy XII, which had previously not been listed on the E3 lists that have been posted at major gaming sites.

Any guesses as to what "Before Crisis" might be? I think it's a simple recount of FFVII's story. A summary, as it were. But why this would be in portable form is what intrigues me. Don't get your hopes up on an actual game "game". No way Square would put something like that in a mobile phone or anything else less profitable.
A Sephiroth story:P "Before Crisis"...You could concider Star Scar syndrom to be a crisis, and thus they would make a compacted version of FFVII the original. If you concider the metor "Save the planet" a crisis(perhpas the true crisis of the two) then parhpas they are going to do a Sephiroth or Zack story. Something before the game began.
Very intresting acticle. Thanks much for posting it
Since no one else seems to have posted this, there have been some new magazine scans floating around on the web. The quality is pretty bad, but here ye go:
Reno and Rude
Vincent I think plus Cloud and his sword.
Tifa
Tifa again I think, not completely sure
Has to be Tifa. The hair gives it away.
VincentVincentVincentVincentVincentVincentVinceeeent...O_O *snaps self out of fangirl stupor and coughs* Interesting bunch of pictures there. I have to say, I like Tifa's outfit. o.o
Children of the atom will proberly "blow" us away! :D

I kept telling everyone they'd put her in black. I love being right.
She has come out even more beautiful and awesome looking than I imagined. And she clearly has an active role here, taking on the biggest of the three enemies (I knew they'd fight, since they're the only characters who use their fists).
And best of all, this should finally dispel all that crap about Tifa being a sex object. Of all the nonsense I've heard over the years about her short skirt and breasts. This new look is a breath of fresh air. It gives her a more realistic style without sacrificing her sexiness.
If only I could see the look on those naysayers faces right now. Tifa is now the best looking character in this movie after Cloud.
I beg to differ. *drools over Vincent summore*Quote:

I agree, I love her design. She looks gorgeous. Such a mature, beautiful face.Quote:

I'm glad to see the overally positive outlook on Tifa's look. I know I wasn't the only one who was most curious about her look, and now it looks like I'm not the only one who loves the redesign. Of all the FF redesigns, this one beats Squall's KH look for best FF redesign ever. Nothing else beats it, certainly not Yuna's short shorts, or Rikku's 3/4 naked attire.
Here's some more things to consider when looking at the pics.
For the record, I'm pro Cloud/Tifa. VERY pro Cloud/Tifa. I know it's an endless debate (which will hopeully HAVE an end by the end of this movie), but I also always thought it was obvious. Aside from the chemistry that developed between the two near the end, their getting together fits the theme of FFVII: Moving on. Cloud, Tifa, and the others learned to move on with their lives, and forget their pasts, so the same idea can apply to Cloud moving on with Tifa.
Besides, I doubt it was mere coincidence that their outfits match.
Also, consider the ring Cloud wears. It's being sold online in pairs. Hmm (squints to see if Tifa is wearing the other).
The most curious things to consider is why she's fighting in Aeris' Church, as well as the angelic feathers surrounding her. Could Tifa be bearing witness to a certain resurrection? Or could she actually play some importance to the grand scheme of things? Despite the constant "Tifa vs Aeris" debates, I don't think anyone doubts that the two had a very close, nearly sisterlike friendship. All you had to do was watch Tifa's reaction to Aeris' death to be convinced. It's touching if she somehow connects to Aeris in the afterlife.
Next, the fight with the oldest villain. You're right, I'm also pretty nervous to see how it fares. After all, this guy sent Cloud flying with just a punch. Is it below him to hit girls? Will Tifa show just how much ass she can kick, or is she in for a painful beating, which Cloud will have to bail her out? I'm just ecstatic that Square is putting their motion capture to good use. Expect to see lots of cool martial arts in Tifa's end.
Also, her new outfit really resembles Misato's from Evangelion. The top part, anyway.
To talk a little more about the old slut debate: To me, that was the absolute worst thing FF "fans" have ever done. To spend so much time and energy insisting that she is "the defacto sex symbol of FF", that "her boobs are ultra ginormous", or "she was Square's answer to Laura Croft" has taken a huge toll on my sanity. Fanarts, fansites, and even fanfiction (most that I'm not allowed to discuss, not that you'd want to hear it anyway) has kept this going on forever. It was as if her strong story and personality just went right over their heads as they prattled on how "she used her tits to balance herself on the cliff at the end". It even would go far enough with lines like "she won't show up in the movie, because Square is embarrased to show her". I've never been more ashamed to call myself an FF fan. EGM was right, we ARE the worst kind of fans.
I won't play complete ignorance, though. I'm aware her assets were bigger than average, but last time I checked, so were nearly every other game character, FF included (Celes always looked pretty stacked to me, being a sprite and all). I don't understand why Tifa got so much attention.
But I can safely put all the blame toward one particular scene. Or rather, two.

http://ir:bou::bou::bou::bou::bou::bou::bou:.za.org/dragon/tifa/009/990906.html
Nope, FFVII's FMV has NOT aged well over the years. Or even by the time FFVIII came out. Yes, Tifa's breasts have been disgustingly rendered to a cartoonish exaggeration. But couldn't fans have realized this was a first effort for Square, and look past the amatuerish mistakes? I never heard anyone complain about Cloud's mishappen torso, or Barret's ungodly huge feet. Nope, they actually assumed Tifa's chest was like that throughout the game. I don't want to sound arrogant, but is common sense a lost art?
That said, I'm very, very glad Nomura didn't let the outcry get to him (or is it nonexistant in Japan?), and thus reduce her chest to an embarassingly notable size. She's still packing enough upstairs to compliment the rest of her good lucks, but not sacrificing her athletic build.
I know it won't put a stop to the whole slut talk though. It won't be long before you start hearing "breast reduction" jokes and so forth. But at least this proves once and for all how utterly WRONG they have been about Tifa, and that Square truly values her as one of their most popular and beloved characters (though that should have been obvious enough by the continued homage to her design in each FF afterwards). Aeris isn't the only one beloved for her character rather than her look.
Though I am curious to see how she'd look in her original outfit in the movie.
Also, I have no more doubts that A) she'll show up in KHII, and they're doing a game after this. With a look that awesome, Square is bound to show it off. I can't wait for the figurine.
I must agree here. Though Vincent got a pretty re-amped version of himself, Renos pony tail is now seen in all its pretty red ness, and Cloud gained somw pretty nifty clothing himself, Tifa tops all of it so far. Squalls Kingdom Hearts look was cool, but just like Tifas outfit, simple and sleek. Atleast with this Tifa, compaired to VII's tifa, her chest and the rest of her should stop the constant "OMG!Shes a slut!!!" that rages everywhere. As far as Rikku almost naked and Yuna's open shirt and short shorts, they would have been cool if the game FFX-2 was released this year and not last,or next year. If there had been a larger gap between the games, then perhaps we would have liked the looks better.Quote:

I didnt notice or even think of that!Wow, maybe your right.
I believe these "feathers" you refer to are actually flower peatles. They look yellow to me, and i believe the flowers in the church were mostly yellow. Cloud happened to be walking through the church in afew pictures, and there was an arial veiw. Maybe Tifa was with him, or there already? Perhaps upon hearing of Clouds fight with these men she raced to midgar to find out what was going on?No idea there.Quote:

Yes! Tifa looks great, and I'm just so happy that the Turks made it past Meteor!!
I cut this from ff7ac.net:
"With the new scans added, new details have emerged from the JUMP magazine were the scans originated from. To prove fact, Tifa Lockheart and the Turks are indeed making their debut in Advent Children proving to have a strong role. The names of the three mystery men also was announced having quite a funny name for them. Rods is the man with the short hair, the second one with hair down to his shoulders is called Kaddish, and the other mystery man, Yazoo. These are the translated names of the three men, so no idea if these are the correct, confirmed names.
The article also explains tie-in's between characters. Conflict will arise between Vincent and the Turks, Cloud and Yazoo, Tifa and Rods, and now also confirmed to be appearing in AC, Marlene with previously announced returning character, Barrett. The article also confirms that Advent Children will see a Summer 2004 release in Japan."
...no mention of anywhere OUTSIDE Japan, though. Some guy said that the article confirmed no release in the US. ;_; I just hope that's not true.
But interesting information, anyway: conflict between the older and newer generation of the Turks...? Hmm!
Just because they havent confirmed it doesnt mean it wont come here. In fact, given that this is creating such a fervor, and VII was a huge hit in America, it'll be a miracle if they don't release it in the US. There's no reason to worry.
I always suspected there would be something between vincent and the turks,a sort of conflict, but i had hoped it to be in the game before i completed it.now we'll see it in sparkly graphics..i wounder what's going on...
"Rods," "Kaddish," and "Yazoo"? Hopefully they'll come out better than that; the katakana says rotsuzu (rozzu), kadaaju, and yazuu.
no one can ever be quite sure of that
Hey Origin, Cloud looks like Tidus in that pic.
...so did you hear the latest about Before Crisis? E3 revealed that it's a prequel to FFVII (six years before) starring the Turks. But for some HORRENDOUS reason, the game platform will likely be a cellular phone.
*curses violently* Who wants to play an RPG on a PHONE??! It probably won't come by the States anyway.... and even then I'd have to get a new cell.
I'm..... THIS close to disowning Squenix..

~ New trailer :)
This is a low res version and the quality isn't all that good, some of the scenes are quite blurry. There will be a better quality version available on the net soon hopefully though :) I'll post it if I find it :)
Edit: The link I provided no longer works because Square Enix is contacting sites to ask them to take the trailer down. Sorry guys :(~
SOURCE: http://forums.adventchildren.net/ind...showtopic=5702
There seems to be a high quality version of the trailer now... you need BitTorrent... it's downloading here as we speak :) (55MB quicktime)
http://www.cddvdheaven.org/download....qt.mov.torrent
Edit: OK it's downloaded now!
Erm.. w...o...w.... I can confirm.... best - trailer - ever. Definitely high quality (*way* better than the previous one that was hosted here) and... um... just watch it *jaw drops*
On a related note, those 3 guys are Sephiroth's brothers?? Or that's what the translation of the Jump article here:
http://media.adventchildren.net/scan...scan_trans.jpg
seems to *hint* at ("Who is the person these three call 'brother'?" - well it certainly ain't that tit from FFX-2, that's for sure). Makes sense. Also strengthens the theory that the wheelchair guy that the leader is showing brotherly love to is the man himself.
Lol!i was just gana post that. here are two more:
EDIT: WOW! okay, the trailer/s cloudane posted wouldnt work for me.there are two here: http://www.square-enix.co.jp/dvd/ff7ac/ My goodness. Vince has marlen and...and...and the three guys are where you drop aeris in the water!
BitTorrent? Quicktime? Screw that.
Bit Torrent does wonders my friend.
the movies definantly bein made but whether or not the japanese like us enough to send it over is another story..................also it wont be in theaters only on dvd and vhs.

It probably won't even make it onto VHS, only DVD. At least that's the way I see it. Since there is gonna be so much in the movie, it would look like crap on VHS. And seeing as how almost everyone here has a PS2, in one way or another, then it's more than likely gonna be released as a DVD only.
An excellent "prediction" of the plot:
http://forums.adventchildren.net/ind...showtopic=6064
The Silver Haired Guys are Jenova's Witnesses going door to door talking about the second coming of Jenova... ahh that cracks me up, brilliant :D
Heh, that's really cute. Makes sense, in an odd sort of way... ;)
i think the movie going to be kool but the thing that bugs me is, why does it have to be an hour long? couldn't they make it juzt a little longer? i mean how r they going to fit everything in? well, i think it would be kool if they had famous celebraties to be the voices of the characters from final fantasy VII, like they did in kingdom hearts....i juz think it would be much better if they did that.......
That would be cool, though famous celebrities aren't always the best ones for the job. I myself am rather worried about the voices, especially the English ones. On something this important, they'll probably be cast well, but you just never know ^_^
there has been an update on the offical site. check out the silver haired men(sephiroth no included). Two of 3 are in their 20's/ The younges is in his 10's(i assume teens) and he is the leader. They all looked to be about the same age. Clones?Or just brothers that seem to look ALOT like Seph
I just saw the new trailer ( the second one) and noticed that the 56k version is in english while the broadband is in Japanese. Odd.
Not true. The broadband version I downloaded was in English.
The one in the torrent I linked was English
Even if it's not released in the U.S., I'm sure somebody will rip the DVD and put subtitles in.
He's telling the truth you miserable *$%£#^!& (true ff7 style) if you want proof go to

stop being rude.he was only trying to help ( or be a pain in the rump. im not in his head, i dont know). so enough about the page. what about zack?
As far as I can tell that page just looks like a connection deal. Like how the characters were related and why. I dont think they'd use the Cait Sith doll in the movie, it doesnt seem like Reeve would have a need to do that anymore, so I dont see why they'll show Zack, aside from the obvious problem in that equation, his (SPOILER)lack of being alive
soz heres the real proof
www.ffinsider.net
there now $%^& off and leave me alone
Actually according to a translation by adventchildren.net, (SPOILER)Reeve is dead
As a result, I don't think Cait Sith will be in it.

Yes, there IS a FFVII sequel on the way, it's called Advent Children, it'll be a DVD movie. There is also a prequel planned, this'll be a game that's played via mobile phone.
Both of these are confirmed, known facts.
There's little point in trying to argue about either of them.
I want to dedicate this to all the people that were deleted because they insisted there would be a sequal to FF7 and no one would listen to them. This is an "I TOLD YOU SO" to all the other people that bashed and deleted. So what do you think now!? After you pushed your opinnions on everyone and thought you knew for sure Square would never put another FF7 out...well screw you. Delete me I don't care...but this is just to tell you, you were wrong!! WAY WRONG!!!
buh bye!
We knew like 6 months ago that this was confirmed. People were insisting there would be be one when there was no proof. It was possible that there never would have been one. People were insisting without proof, and it was annoying. But it's been confirmed, and we've been aware of it since.Quote:
