At this point, it is totally impossible for any character to die.

With the HP limit at 390, there is no way to hurt any character (Let's use Quistis for an example) enough times for them to die. She needs to be hit 7 more times to be eliminated, but there are only 6 places where characters can be healed (Cid thrice, Irvine once, and Rinoa twice). I suggest an increase in the HP limit, or knocking every character down let's say... 90 points. Otherwise, this will continue on forever.

This was caused by inflation due to previous characters being knocked out of the game, taking their HP loss with them.

If we were to continue on as we're doing, and the Quistis-haters got their way, it would end up like this:

Cassopeia also healed Zell for 60 points, but two people said they healed him after that, so he's right where he should be (max). :)

HP inflation strikes again, so this next elimination will be a tough one to achieve.

Once another character is knocked out of the race, an overall HP depletion (like what happened before) or a raise of the max HP (not really recommended) must take place for anything to happen. Also, if it proves far too difficult to get another character out of the game and we need assistance, we could just do it now.

But, let's just leave things as they are for the moment and we'll see if it works out 'till the next round.

I vote Raijin and Fujin be removed since we already considered adding them awhile back and decided not to do so. This has already been going on long enough, and it can go on forever if we keep adding other people. If you add Raijin and Fujin, why can't someone else start adding Julia or GF's, or Wedge, or Biggs, etc...?

If someone seconds this, then lets remove them. If others support including them, then keep them in. As of right now, I'm taking them out.

i dont think we should start adding characters wiht no real importance to the story like GFs but rajin and fujin are main characters with their own personalitys and i want this thread to last as long as possible. and the two people after my last post had no problem. fujin and raijin and the only two characters actually worth adding right now becaue there arent many decent characters left. in my opinion their still important to the storyline and have good personalitys and they have bigger parts than some of the characters on the list E.G Xu. and you only see her for about 5 minutes worth of playing time throughout the whole game and she was put on the list so why not raijin and fujin?

Adding more characters after what was originally in the first post does not seem like a good plan to me at all. For one thing, this is not supposed to be a never-ending thread. This is what is written in the first post and no where in there does it say to add more characters when someone feels like it.

10-4 on that. "Boys from the dwarf," I don't explicitly see how the use of a character's game role is justification for addition to the current list, especially since the thread has ballooned to several hundred posts.

JUSTIFICATION:

The reason your additions may be problematic is because in the original character list, there were FOUR (4) minor characters that began this thread along with the other major characters. These characters were Boko, Odine, Xu and Piet. By stating that Raijin and Fujin can be added because they relate in game role to original major characters, then logically minor characters can also be added as well because they relate in THEIR game role to the original minor characters. So therefore, if someone wanted to add Julia, or Biggs, or Wedge, or Nida, or Dodona, or Norg, or Martine, or General Caraway, they should be able to do that just as easily as someone such as yourself adding Rajin and Fujin.

A mix of minor and major characters originally composed the list- a list which has never been cited as being all-encompassing or as exclusively for MAJOR characters. Therefore, if an individual such as yourself adds Raijin and Fujin to the current list, to keep the game fair, other individuals should be allowed to add other characters that were also not originally included, such as those which I listed above. This would be impractical, since in theory we could then have TEN new characters, which would pretty much begin the game anew, and that would be destructive to the game we are CURRENTLY playing, which only has 10 players left, not counting the new additions of Raijin and Fujin.

Therefore, the addition of new characters to this thread should be avoided so that the interest of the following points is preserved:

1.) So that the current game we are playing stays true to its current development over the past 500+ posts, as well as staying true to the posters who are already acquainted with the game's current state and history.
2.) So that this entire thread does not inherit unnecessary embellishment and so this thread does not inherit a greater degree of monotony, already unavoidable due to the subject nature of this thread.
3.) So that the fairness of posting on this thread is preserved, and no conflicts arise about additional character inclusion.

Adding and removing Fujin and Raijin did more trouble than you thought. HP inflation strikes yet again (:eep:) and there are only enough +/-'s to get through to next round exactly. Raijin had 270 health, (one strike below 300) and now that loss is out of the game. There are only 6 places to heal someone and Kiros requires exactly 6 hits to be eliminated. This will be excruciatingly difficullt to get anyone out of the game now. (Even if we did somehow manage that, the next round would start with every character at 390 HP.)

I suggest an (another) knockdown of HP for every remaining character by 90 HP to keep things flowing. I'll take the liberty to do it right now, to help speed things along. If anyone finds a reason to disagree, feel free to say so.

I agree with whomever said above that we should knock the hps down...or we should up the damage to 60hp and keep healing at 3ohp. I won't do that this post...but if anyone agrees I think it should happen.
