Sig Maker's Challenge

CONTEST RULES:

Hi everyone! Owen has placed me under control of this competition (just this one, though) and I'm here as the runner and advisor of it. The reason he put me in charge is because I asked for him to do a contest here to design the sig for the winner of EoFF's Top Artist competition.

Here are the rules:
-Size is no matter, as long as it pertains to the rules here and the user of this sig has enough space on the bottom to credit who made it
-Must have the text "EoFF's Top Artist Winner" on it
-I have no picture to give you; you need to make a sig with your own creativity and skill. Make sure it somehow is related to drawing and artists; something random with "EoFF's Top Artist winner" on it most likely won't be chosen as the winner. Be creative!
-There will be only one winner of this comp this time, because I will only be offering one sig to the winner. This time, the winner is not chosen by the votes, it is chosen by me
-The deadline will be in two weeks, on October 18th (19th in some places). There is no real time deadline, I just want it in by that day or on that day.

Ok as Tan said before, the rules:
1. Any render to use, but it should have an artistic appearance.
2. Size prefered to be not under 350X100 and not over 450X150 just so it look decent.
3. It have to be colourful.
4. Text is "EOFF top artist winner" nothing more please.
5. Send your entries to me by PM, and I'll show them to Tan so he decides.
6. Due date is by next thursday14/11/2006. After this no entries are accepted.

anyways.... the competition theme would be: creativity which means how well you can make the signature look unique and special instead of just a plain rectangle with a character and a background ;)

the stock to use would be in the attachment. It's UTADA!!! You may wish to render it if you want to but it's not required.

Size doesn't have restrictions. Dimension has to be no bigger than 400x120 pixels.

Text: your own username and/or Utada Hikaru but that's optional

Rules are the same. PM all submissions to ME :D this time. The due date for all submissions would be: January 28, 2007 that's this Sunday

the stock to use would be in the attachment. Actually it's a render but due to the size, you'll get more choices to make the sig from. It has fran, balthier, and ashe so you can choose between the three.

yeah. that's why i chose that render because it had three people in it therefore the sigmakers have a choice of who they want to put on their sigs instead of using the same person over and over again.

i know it was SUPPOSED to be a joke, and plus i've already voted, ACCORDING to rules :p i voted as soon as the sigs were posted...

let's try to lessen the number of random comments in here.

maybe we should propose a competition forum where we can do a more organized version of the sig competition. Then, votes can be arranged in polls or something instead of PMing them.

Anyways, owen didn't enter this time and ToH, your votes were pretty "legal" so no more jokes :)

Yeah I would think part of the lack of voters is how it is set up now. My problem is I always keep forgetting to pm the votes in[PM'ing is something I almost never do so it slips my mind quite often]. Also the voting criteria may also cause issues[some people may see it as too complicated].


Also I know I prefer posting the vote because then I feel more justified for posting drawn out reasons why I think that is the the vote should go.

yeah, I did, but I also put a bit of work into critiquing them. So it can take me several minutes to perform it. Plus, PM'ing always slips my mind. I have never really used any of those kind of systems. I have had PM's that I don't notice until they are months old. Meh. maybe it is just me.


Anyways the point I was trying to make is that having to send a PM can actually be a turn off to people. And may be a factor in why we get so few votes(I know I have missed several just cause I never got around to going to my PM area to send out the PM.... Plus I have to have two tabs open just to do my critiquing which adds one more tab to my already cluttered tab bar).

yes, I've been thinking of this too, Maybe in the next comp, we can make better ways, rules and style of comps.

Starting separate threads for each competition gets very messy, considering that this seems to be an ongoing competition.

I'm closing this thread and archiving it as it has gotten quite long. You may start a new thread for the next competitions and keep editing the first post of the thread with updates as to what is happening and links to the posts that they are happening in. This has worked well for other competitions.

You should also PM me or another mod/admin to update the thread title for you when each new competition starts or when there is voting, etc. When the new thread gets uber long again, it will be added to the other archived thread.
