An explanation of our fine game.
Firstly, the dear Lovers, my personal invention and favourite children. After landing the role of serial killer in the last game, I was apprehensive. How the hell do you win with a serial killer? Well, you don't, because the mafia are filthy cheats who use hax to find out your identity  But really, it's ungodly impossible. So I decided to buff them it up a bit, giving it elements of the mafia. The doctor was just to reduce the chance of them being wiped out in the night before they got a chance to get going, like I was in the last game. Shame it didn't work!
What, no Cop?! No. Absolutely not. I hate the damn role. (don't take this as an indicator of it not being in the next game! qwerty probably likes it. I dunno) Guilty or innocent? Too easy. Too god damned easy by far. I like roles that make you think. Like Gunsmith. Why does Person X have a gun? Or Watcher/Tracker. Why did Person X target Person Y? We also included lots of roles with night targetting for this reason, like the Hider as opposed to a Bulletproof townie, which in some ways amounts to the same thing.
Del Murder hit on the exact reason why we have two roles with roleblocking abilities. Yes, it was to try to offset some of the other night activities. We also gave the town other power roles, like Vigilante and Masons, to combat the threat posed by two killing factions as opposed to just the one.
We also gave the mafia a heck of a lot of power to face off against the threats they faced. First of all the roles of the mafia themselves. Obviously the Ninja was the true "godfather", being investigation proof from all three roles. Goon was because we felt they'd be overpowered with another special role. Cop was supposed to be the thing which gave them most of their power. Edgar could've uncovered the two lovers, the usurper and the miller, and then used them to roleclaim cop in the thread. We also gave them a few helpful roles in the town, like the Saulus, the Usurper (this would help them if she had killed Quina because A) the town would think the godfather dead, and B) X amount of days worth of vote history with no mafia connection!) And yes, the JESTER. I know Del and Miriel think that doesn't benefit anybody, but yes, it benefits the mafia in my opinion. Someone acting like a damn jackass, drawing attention away from them has helped them in previous games. So we just made it official.
And finally, the Nexus. Apparently a lot of you hate that role. Okay! Criticism accepted! We just wanted to make things a bit funnier and crazier. "Oh man, screwed over because of THAT?" but apparently none of you seem to find that funny like we do. Well, Dolentrean did, but he's the Nexus.
EDIT: Oh I forgot, we also wanted some subplots. Like the [color=blue]Survivor[/color and the Usurper - just as a fun distraction from who kills/lynches who. So yeah. And you all know about why we gave the Survivor those special daily conditions.
