Actually it's confirmed that seasons five and six will mostly split up the content from AFFC and ADWD, so it's not quite as dire as it looks. There will probably be a small amount of content from TWOW in season six, but I wouldn't expect it to be much.

Same with Tyrion, there has also been leaked BTS screens showing his story actually surpassing the books. Plus Bran and Sansa's storyline was basically caught up at the end of season 4.
I was kind of surprised too, AFFC and ADWD are two of the biggest books, that being said tho there's alot of fat to be trimmed compared to the earlier books. Plus it makes sense, Winds of Winter= Season 6, A Dream of Spring= Season 7.
Well, Bran's not going to be in season 5 at all, so who knows how they'll split it up.

It's inevitable the show will pass the book and I'm entirely okay with that because I'm tired of haughty people going "har har I know what's going to happen and you don't". Pretty excited for this season.
