Black Mage finally stabbed Fighter. I guess we can all go home now.
Pfft. He's going to get back up, laugh it off, and call BM silly...and we'll be back at square one.
Cheers.
We're all learn it was nothing but another dream sequence.
Drat those comic aurthors and their dream sequences of confusion.
It may have been mentioned already, but let's not forget www.bobandgeorge.com because he started it.
You know, with a comic with the star pure evil, and a comic with the star pure stupid, I think I shall start a comic. The main character shall be purely....insane! Hmm, but what lame arse sprites to base it on? Ah, Zelda! Link should be fine for an insane fellow. He runs into houses, breaks all their belongings, asks them about stuff, and leaves. He's not stupid though, because he has this amazing ability to solve amazingly complex engineering problems in any underground place he goes to, and can learn the contents of whole books instantly.
On topic, me lovses the 8-bit.
Now they just plain suck. I mean, the thief is the Elf Prince? How predictable and inaccurate is that? I just had to stop reading them, because not only is the plot repetitive and stupid, all they do is friggin yack.
I swear, all that author's trying to do is show off his vocabulary skills.
Considering he's trying to keep the events semi loyal to FF1's I'd say he's doing a good job.
I'm with Paladin, here. Given how predictable and inaccurate the source material occasionally is, I'm not sure that's something you can fault the strip for. I mean, it's a parody, right? How often do you follow those for the plot, anyway?
Yeah, but the thing is, it used to be funny at some point.
I'm still laughing.
That could be a medical condition.
Predictable and inaccurate? Thief would be the elf prince, as he states several times that he doesn't want to go. It's called foreshadowing, hinting at upcoming events. The comic would become just plain nuts if crazy plot twists just happened. I also don't think Brian has had time to play through the game several times and get the plot down, I don't blame him for making it inaccurate. You have to trail off a bit if its going to be funny and entertain an audience that hasn't played the game.
Repititve and stupid? The plot has ALWAYS been stupid, its supposed to be. I don't think its very repetitive either. They went from a port to the middle of the ocean across a rocket-ship to the Elven kingdom, and are now preparing to leave for the Marsh Cave. The jokes are getting a bit repetitive but he has to develop the plot, and the Elven kingdom isn't very exciting. After they get out, there will be more opportunities for jokes.
All they do is yak? Its the ramblings of the characters, like Black Mage's recently, that makes it funny. Brian's massive vocabulary allows him to use adjectives in a way I never thought possible, which just adds to the laughter. Black Mage's rant about how he is superior all leads up to him being told by the ninjas without him even saying a word.
I still find it funny. I'm pretty sure things will pick up once they hit the Marsh Caves.
