Agreed. Jon had some very believable bloodlust going on this episode. It was fun to watch.

Yeah, I have a hard time believing Ned Stark's son was never taught to run in a zig zag when being shot out. HOW MANY YEARS WAS RICKON WITH OSHA? I KNOW SHE TAUGHT HIM THAT COME ON.
Yeah it was a bit predictable by damnit the good guy needed a win. It's been 6 seasons of tbe good guys never winning. They needed one.
I don't really get the predictable criticism and I knew the spoilers behind it. If you say the outcome of a Stark victory is predictable then I can accept that, but it's about the journey not the destination.
I don't think anybody could've predicted how purely visceral and raw that was, or the panic of that horrifying Jon Snow crush scene. On that note, what a beautifully shot episode. God damn that long take of Jon brawling at the start of the battle was wonderful. And even non battle shots like Davos finding Shireen's stag were incredible.
Rickon dying, Jon basically screwing up their whole battle plan, and the knights of the Eyrie bailing them out were the predictable parts for me.
There was that scene of the horses running right at the beginning of the battle. It was beautiful and amazing.
Also the dany and her dragons things was like "goddamn that's right!" everyone complains about her not doing anything but they've set it up she'll be riding to westeros now on her dragons. Showed how she'll be able to fair against a naval fleet. Plus it was just freaking cool.
I said the same thing to MissH when it was happening. "This is all in one take. Amazing!!" She was busy chewing her fists though and didn't pass comment.
Totally get how Freya's heart rate hit the hundreds. Mine was up there! Amazing episode.
Jon and Tormund to both die of Dysentry in episode ten.
Predictable doesn't mean boring or bad. Some of my favourite movies ever made are predictable. They're still smurfing awesome.
The literal mountain of bodies shocked me. Like holy crap what a brutal battle.
This scene was the awesome one I mentioned!
https://i.imgur.com/jpOWBRj.gif
The mountain of bodies impressed me. Not so much that they did it, but they were quite realistic with it. Because a bunch of those guys weren't dead and were probably killed by the crush of people and not their wounds. In reality, a lot of their wounds, particularly from arrows, wouldn't have been immediately fatal, so the macabre nature of it aside it was a pretty cool thing to see.
Like Davos, I thought I was going to trout out my guts while watching this.
This was incredibly visceral, yeah. Holy trout what an episode. Just, so fantastic. I'm 100% backing the theory Dany is going to go into 'Mad Queen' status, I choked though watching her on her dragons destroying those ships.
Poor Rickon :(
And yeah, that suffocation scene was brutal and hard to watch.
A very satisfying end for Ramsey, though I have to wonder how this will affect Sansa - I mean I know she WANTED him dead, and he deserved to die, but that was pretty sadistic of her to watch that.
I kinda think she's preggo.
The whole thing where she was all "I still feel him" to littlefinger and then him saying "you'll always have a part of me."
How troutty would it be if she was preggo with a bolton?
Eh, I hope it's not that. I like to think it's because she's becoming sadistic and is playing her own game under the influence of Littlefinger.
omg, that moment when all the dragons were flying around.. i got emotional.
the bond with her dragons are restored <3
omg, i smurfing love Ramsay xD that scene with rickon *shoots arrow* 'ooh.. i missed'. with thyat smirk on his face.. sadistic bastard xD
i knew he wouldnt make it :(
can we talk about this scene please??
the scene with Jon in the middle of the battle was amazing. it looks very realistic for what i think such a battle would look like when you are in the middle of it, with all the chaos and the horses running in to everything and eachother. usually you just see the hero slashing all the badguys and horses going from left to right or going down in the usuall stunt-horse-thing
i thought it was amazing
Holy trout xD eaten by his own dogs..
it was indeed very predictable that the Eyrie would come in to save the day.
but why was Sansa so mysterious about it? why didnt she just mention that there was another army on its way?
*sigh* I dislike Ramsay being gone.. i just loved (to hate) him, even more then Joffrey
p.s. I havent been this excited and hyped about an epsisode since (probably) Hardhome..
thumbs up to mr.Snow/stark
p.s.p.s. amagad yara/dany :3 i like this alliance
Pretty sure sansa was smiling as she walked away do u think we can guess how Ramsay's death is affecting her.
Out of character though for her to enjoy violence
Well, I had a bit of a Joker laugh fit during the whole thing, so I know her psychological state is better than mine.
Can Arya borrow Littlefinger's transporter and arrive at Winterfell next week please? Thanks.
I don't think it's the least bit out of character for her to enjoy seeing the man who repeatedly raped and tortured her and others die a suitably violent death.
i know Rickon was young and scared but all i wanted to shout is 'DONT RUN IN A smurfING STRAIGHT LINE DUDE!!'
:'(
Had he zig zag either one of the other arrows that missed would've got him, or Ramsay would've declared him no a good dirty cheat and had his entire archer squad launch arrows ensuring his immediate death. Assuming Ramsay didn't graduate from the Legolas school of fine archery.
that is asuming that he happened to zigzag 2 steps left or right, that would've been a very lucky shot on ramsay's side. he was playing around the first couple of arrows.
if he really zigzagged in random patterns he would/could have made it (atleast to Jon)
p.s all the sudden the vid on every site wont go fullscreen anymore.. i keep the top of the browers with all the tabs and the bottom with all the usuall stuff.
i havent done anything silly so i dont know how it happened..
does anyone know how to fix it?
A satisfying end to two storylines. I also thought the battle of the bastards was predictable and I could have scripted that myself, but at least the conclusion was satisfying. Not the most interesting battle scene in the show, I thought the battle of Kings Landing and battle of The Wall were better. Some of it dragged on a little, but maybe that was stylistic choice. Fine, fine. This show prides itself on its unpredictability and so it was somewhat of a letdown to see it happen in a trope-ish way, but maybe that was what was unpredictable? Either way, it was satisfying to see Ramsey get what he deserved. A fitting end to that dude and I'm glad Sansa was the one to finish him off.
I actually thought the Meereen stuff was more interesting than the big battle. I liked how Grey Worm did the 'pick one of you to die' bit, very clever. Also seeing the two badass females team up is pretty cool too. Maybe Sansa and/or Lady Mormont can rule the North while Margery can take the South and we can have an ALL QUEEN WESTEROS! I guess the Sand Snakes already have the deep South.
Next episode should wrap up the Kings Landing storyline for this season and I can't wait to see what Cersei does with her back against the wall. Burn them all? For some reason I think Grandma Tyrell is in trouble. That is the only house that has not yet suffered horrible loss.
And so ended the story of Rickon, who was put into the story entirely for one purpose: To be captured and bring about a battle.
But seriously, wow, what an episode. Blimey.
...sad about Wun Wun though. How the HELL did they defeat all those people in Winterfell and just not notice that one evil sadist with a bow and freaking arrow pointed directly at Wun Wun!? This is the saddest death in the episode.
I can see Davos killing Melisandre pretty soon if he gets his way. I have mixed feelings as, it would be like killing Jaime right after he started being a good person when he was on his travels with Brienne. But if anyone is to kill her, it should be Davos, so yeah.
I agree regarding "why didn't Sansa tell Jon?" That's a pretty big deal, right? Hrm. Oh well.
I don't think they'll kill her. I think she'll be casted out or something or just not killed. She did bring him back to life.
It would be out of character for Davos to murder someone even if she led to the murder of an innocent child that was also his friend. Then again, Jon was pretty out of character in this latest episode by being stupid and charging right at an obvious trap that his sister even warned him about.
I don't know about cold blooded murder, but something's gotta give. They're having those brooding faces too often.
This episode was everything I've ever wanted.
I don't know how the Slave Masters thought it would be a good idea to continue attacking after Dany returned. They know she has three dragons...
I was only 60% sure Rickon would die the other 40% made me suspect Ramsay would hit Jon
Wonderful use of the long take in the start of the fight and even a very good use of the quick cut afterwards in the suffocation scene.
I like how the mountain of bodies werent just people lying there, they were struggling and screaming
That Little Finger smile was disturbing...
Of course Sansa had to watch, gotta make sure he's actually dead.
I always figured Rickon was one Stark too many.
Seriously though, how many lines did Rickon have in the entire series? Did he say a single word after his return?
not 1.. i'm almost certain

http://images6.fanpop.com/image/phot...80-477-358.jpg
im seriously considering switching my set to Lyanna Mormomt, but i dont want to betray Sansa :(
Is it truly betraying Sansa to respect a northern woman of high birth? And if it is, is Sansa then worthy of your loyalty?
And I swear fealty to House Mormont!
Littlefinger and his armty might be a blessing in disguise
heres something i found on the internet that we probably all forgot about:
a scene/conversation between littlefinger and Cersei from season 5
Here’s the relevant piece of the exchange, after Littlefinger offers to attack Winterfell with the Knights of the Vale:
“And if you succeed?” Cersei says
“Name me Warden of the North,” Littlefinger says.
“I’ll speak to the king this evening, have him issue a royal decree.”
“I will not rest until the Lion flies over Winterfell,” Littlefinger says, in reference to the Lannisters’ house sigil.
“I’ll know you’re a man of your word when I see Sansa Stark’s head on a spike.”
So that’s not a super good sign for Sansa. Littlefinger won’t even have to attack Winterfell, since his knights are already the occupying force. Not only that, but the Stark’s trump card, Wun Wun the giant, is dead. Maybe they're not as unstoppable as we thought.
There are a few ways this could go. First, Littlefinger could keep his word to the Lannisters. Though Cersei is no longer in control of the king, presumably the royal decree still stands. Second, Littlefinger could decide he loves Sansa more than he wants power. That seems unlikely given that he's kind of all about power. Third, he could lead his own force south and fight against the increasingly disorganized and dispirited Tyrell and Lannister armies while they’re fighting the Faith Militant in King’s Landing.
Whatever happens, Sansa is in a lot worse trouble than she realizes.
http://i.imgur.com/XOKWSSC.gif
That's why Littlefinger needs to die. Well, that, and all the trout he caused that led to the events of the first season and thereafter.
Winterfell is a big castle. Accidents happen :smug:
Littlefinger has a lot more work to do if he is going to convince the Northern lords to follow him as Warden. Bolton was the second most powerful North house and played his cards right with the other lords to take over as warden, taking advantage of their fatigue in Rob's war as well as their disgust with him breaking a marriage pact and marrying a lower ranked girl. Littlefinger doesn't really have anything like that going for him. The Vale lords are not going to follow him into a war with the North just to further his agenda. Hell, they are only doing this now because he convinced them to help Sansa, kin to their liege lord.
I think Littlefinger will try to marry Sansa to stake his claim, not kill her. Sansa is kin to both the Riverlands and Vale lords and is the only known heir to Winterfell. A great prize for him, and maybe he intended for the Boltons to lose favor for him to take Sansa back all along. Plus, he clearly has some affection for her and Cersei is out of power. He has no reason to hold up his end of the bargain.
Yeah I think he's going for the marriage angle.
I want a SansaxLittlefinger wedding so badly.
You need bad guys to make the story entertaining though and we are now running slightly low on those. Littlefinger will have to do for now!
We need Euron to step up to the plate. His book incarnation, especially the sample chapter from the unreleased Winds of Winter, seems to be as bad as Joffrey or Ramsey... and unlike those two he seems to be actually competent too.
You're right that we need a bad guy, but that doesn't mean I hope that bad things happen to good characters who have had enough crap thrown at them for now.
I think we have a good supply of bad guys, actually.
- White Walkers
- Littlefinger
- Euron
- Cersei & Co.
- Sand Snakes (hard to say if you think they're good or bad tbh)
- The Inevitable Further Baddies in Essos That Seem To Never, Ever End (Here's Hoping Though)
If it's true regarding how many episodes there are left, I for one will be happy enough to see the end of Littlefinger soon enough, Euron whenever, and then Cersei & Co. + White Walkers to push us through the last few episodes, with perhaps some other interference by the likes of the stone men, the red priestesses or something.
What I like about Game of Thrones though is that a lot of the time, the supposed 'bad guys' are just people trying to make the best of their situation, and often they see themselves as good.
Curious, now that I think of it, what the Iron Bank will do regarding the debt that Stannis is now unlikely to be able to pay. Likewise the debt that, so far as I know, King's Landing still have yet to pay them. Surely that will come into play, especially if the Iron Bank is no longer going to be funding a fight against Dany (if they ever were), let alone funding Stannis. They'll be wanting to get some money back sooner rather than later, I'd imagine.
i want my shield back..
http://img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/photo/aPWy0VR_700b.jpg
I wonder how many Mormomt men survived?
all 62 lived :colbert:
ofc all the Mormomts's survived
sopmething is wrong with Jon's sword :O
http://9gag.com/gag/awVbj7D
Well one must have fallen if he picked that shield up :p
Me being the slow person I am just realized Lyanna is related to Jorah and the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch that got killed.
This explains so much.
Book Euron is really beginning to seem like endgame big-bad potential (alongside others such as the White Walkers, of course). That preview chapter, ouff.
I just hope that TV Euron lives up to the name, but this iteration of him really doesn't strike me as a threat. He seems too fool-hardy and macho, whereas book Euron is like a cross between Jack Sparrow and Hannibal Lecter.
Yeah, so far I heard book Euron is better than TV Euron because of how mysterious book Euron is, and I didn't get that vibe from him outside of his first appearance in the show. Sounds disappointing. Maybe they'll flesh him out next season.
He's been in like 3 scenes total so we don't know much about him yet. We didn't get the full picture of Joffrey and Ramsay until later in their storylines. I do agree that with Ramsay gone the show lacks a Big Bad (other than the White Walkers but they don't really interact with the characters) so I hope Euron steps it up like you guys say. What we do know is already pretty hardcore: he's killed his own brother to take his throne and plotted the murder of his niece and nephew.
I wouldn't even call his plan to murder them a plot. He just becomes King and invites his men to come murder them. It's more of a dinner party invite.
I want the wall coming down on the season finale.
I want Cersei to smurf trout up (negatively) on the season finale.
I want Arya to pop back in at westeros somehow on the finale.
Other things I want..... More dragons smurfing trout up?
I'ma spoiler this even though it's on the trailer just to be politeWalder Frey is seen in the season finale trailer having a feast with Jaime and quoting a line from the Red Wedding. There are theories/hopes that Arya is going to pop up in this scene and kill Walder Frey. If not her, then Jaime may double cross them. SOMETHING'S GOING DOWN!
I think Cersei smurfing stuff up is pretty much guaranteed. Not sure we will see Arya make it all the way back to Westeros in one episode but I'd be happy if that was the case. Bran will almost certainly be at the Wall in the finale but I don't think they would hurriedly show the Wall coming down. Too much other stuff to wrap up to give that scene justice. More likely he will cross it and then the Night King will get a glimmer in his eye and say 'it's time' or something like that.
I'd be very satisfied if the end of the season shows Daenerys and the Greyjoys sailing away. Trout will then be getting real.
Nowhere near as bad as Littlefinger seemingly hopping between Winterfell and the Vale at will, Daario's round trip between Meereen and Vaes Dothrak or the completely insane logic of the Greyjoys travelling halfway across the known world in three episodes. Braavos to Westeros is quite quick in comparison!
Have a map and you'll see what I mean http://i.imgur.com/L7lRmtm.jpg
Yeah, seriously, how'd littlefinger get his army around the freys
Littlefinger could in theory avoid having to go through the Frey stronghold of The Twins to reach Mole Town by using a boat to sail to Eastwatch-by-the-sea and then make the short trip to Mole Town.
Still pretty difficult to imagine, but not as hard as a land trip.
With an army of mounted knights? :p
Well obviously he took more than one ship. Three or four at the very least.
Or he just snuck through while the Frey's were busy being useless at retaking river run.
Now THAT is a good point. He could have his personal meeting with Sansa fine, as it only required himself.
Transporting mounted knights by sea would be almost impossible, unless the Val happened to have ships large enough to move horses and men. Failing that, a land approach would be hard due to The Twins. Maybe he sneaked past?
Why do I want a Littlefinger/Sansa wedding? For one thing--holy trout their chemistry. And I'm pretty sure I've told EoFF about my sex dream about Littlefinger and I was Sansa. Well, if I haven't, now you know.
I really don't see him as all that evil, at least where she's involved. Yeah, he married her to Ramsey, but I really REALLY don't think he realized how depraved and sadistic Ramsey was. Except for Cat, the only person Littlefinger has shown an ounce of care and compassion for is Sansa. I truly think he's in love with her and was trying to help her (in a roundabout way) regain Winterfell. smurf, if he didn't care, it wouldn't have brought the Vale's army.
So yes, I've been on board that train since like season 2, and there's no getting off of it, I'm afraid.
D:
I don't see him as caring for Sansa, personally, I just see him looking at her with greed for not just "Cat's daughter omg" but also for how he can use her. Honestly, I don't think Sansa would, in her right mind, ever truly forgive him for what he did to her.
But yeah, I know what you mean with "There's not getting off this train" kinda stuff. Guilty of that in a lot of things.
I've been crossing my fingers for Sansa's death from the beginning.
Unfortunately, I've got a feeling she is gonna make it.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/t31.0-...97730496_o.jpg
edit: so the latest rumour is that its a tradition for the leaders of 'The Red Wedding' to be killed by their sons.
Tywin got killed by Tyrion.. Roose by Ramsay..
so now its Walder Frey's turn.. but there will be a twist to it a theory you could consider a spoiler tho nothing has been confirmed its Arya Stark with a face from the Hall pretending to be one of Frey's sons. and since Walder has -alot- of sons its plausable.. I dont think he even knows all his sons.
tho it would be very unlikely to happen in this season because then Arya would need Littlefingers magical transporter
Furthermore (SPOILER)the last time she took a face from the hall she went blind, so I don't think she'd take the risk of doing it again.
So the BFs family is in town. We invited the cousin and his wife to come watch the finale tomorrow. Turns out the aunt and uncle are two weeks behind so now it'll be a short marathon before the finale and a group viewing of the finale!
I always wanted to have or go.to a viewing party and so we've got our own now!
yeah, but thats because (SPOILER) Jaqen made her drink something (right?, i cant remember the scene clearly).. so i dont think taking a face will make her blind again
She went blind because she was someone, but despite her claims to the contrary, he did declare that she was finally no one when she killed waif.
Also, holy smurf holy smurf holy smurf holy smurf!
Is it next year yet?
King in da norf!
Frey pie!
Wildfire explosion!
DornexTyrellxDany alliance!
King of da norf! Jon Stark confirmed!
ALSO - Lyanna Mormont is a great character. I love her.
Also also, That library! OMG!
And the song in the beginning was amazing.
The music was just great all the way around!
OH ALSO, The Arya thing harks back to the story Bran told a few seasons ago!
Also, really all but the wall? It was hinted at strongly though that something will happen with the magic of the wall since Benjen mentioned it and Bran has been touched by the Night's King and htat's how he got into the wierwood tree with the Three eyed raven. So I feel confident that next season i'm going to get some grand thing with the wall. I want it to come down though haha I think that' would be so freaking cool to see this huge wall just explode and come crumbling down.
I guess the Dragons didn't smurf anything up but they looked cool flying everywhere!
Little Lady Lyanna Mormont is everything. Goddamn. Kid needs and Emmy RIGHT NOW.
FINALLY DANY IS DOING SOMETHING
RIP Margaery :( also Tommen :(
Goddamn, this was a great episode. Honestly probably one of the best, if not the.
Also, Jaime's heart completely broke when Cersei took the throne. He's totes gonna kill her next season.
Holy smurfing trout on a poop stick that was intense.
Margaery! No! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! DAMN YOU, HIGH SPARROW, WHY THE SMURF DIDN'T YOU LISTEN!?
Anyone noticed Cersei was dressed up like Tywin? Trout got real.
I thought I'd enjoy Confess lady getting hers, but that whole scene was unpleasant. Well done.
Pycelle deserved it, but I can't say it was enjoyable watching a bunch of kids brutally stab a man. Again well done.
Lancel, you so dead. You so dead they have to find a new word to describe how dead you are.
WALDER FREY IS DEAD OMG! ARYA! ARYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Cersei, YOU CHOSE THE WRONG DAMN DAY TO BECOME QUEEN!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I came.
All things considered, I think that was THE GREATEST SEASON EVER!!!!
Possibly the best episode ever of this show. They really laid it all on the table. Man, that opening scene. Chilling!
Oh, and Baelish. You got
REJECTED!
Just go home, Baelish. You're done here.
Talk about a teleporter, how did Varys get on Dany's boat in the end.
Where has Ghost been in the last 3 episodes. On that note I hope at the end of the series it goes full circle and Bran goes back in time to place the wolf cubs in the right place at the right time
His little birds flew him.
Blimey, what a ridiculously good episode. The opening scene was absolutely sublime. Can't believe Margaery got offed, I was so sure she'd make it out. Villain vacuum didn't last long at all, did it! Cersei ascendant, doing exactly what Jaime sacrificed his honour to prevent.
Arya is a straight up sociopath. Walder Frey and his horrible ilk fully deserved to get wrecked, but you can't help but wonder what Ned or Jon would say about carving them into a pie and making him eat them. That's some Ramsay level trout right there.
My favourite scene of the episode? Sam at the Citadel :3: I don't even care. That was adorable.
The nice thing about this season is that every outstanding plot line with the possible exception of Gendry (if you still call it open, the fans obviously do) was closed off. Rickon and Osha? Done. Tullys? Done. Freys? Done. BWB and The Hound? They're back, baby.
Did you see that look he and Sansa exchanged when Jon (instead of her) was named King in the North? It's clearly not over. Season 7 prediction - Jon and Sansa tension will build when they disagree on a few things, Sansa turns to LF.There were some Martell and Tyrell sails in that fleet. On that subject, lmao at Olenna roasting the Sand Snakes. They're evidently Qyburn's now... ;)
I was reminded of South Park by it, really.
Watching Arya kill people give me intense physical pleasure. #noshame
Probably the best episode of Game of Thrones I've ever seen. The wait for the next season is going to be even more agonising than usual.
jfc, Cersei was cutting some nice sweet fruit for herself but she cut her own finger..
i really freaking smurfing hate that Margaery had to die ;_;
that revelation that Jon was Lyanna's kid was (predictable but) very nice to see.
so.. will there be more Stark reunion? <3
i feel a bit insulted that they didnt decleir for Sansa, her being the 'real' stark.
i know its because she is a women.. but stil... :(
THE DRAGONS ARE COMMIN! THE DRAGONS ARE COMMING!!
Lady Mormomt saves the day once again
Cersei is one stone cold :bou::bou::bou::bou:.

Yeah, you could see the sails as the dragons were flying through things.
It makes sense though,t hey said earlier that's barely enough with the Masters fleet and the greyjoys. But with the Martell and tyrells, they are absolutely able to get there. Heck yeah, they're going to wreck cersei's trout.
''until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear.”
i thought it would be Margaery.. but now it seems its dany
Could you refresh my memory? I can't actually remember him doing anything evil (Unless being incompetent and frequently hiring prostitutes is evil)Quote:
Pycelle deserved it, but I can't say it was enjoyable watching a bunch of kids brutally stab a man. Again well done.
I didn't start watching until this season, but from the books he acted as a witness against Tyrion, was responsible for betraying Tyrion to Cersei prior to that (when determining who he could trust), and just acted as Cersei's little puppet. Betraying the oaths of his religion isn't my business and bringing a guy back from the dead (kind of) isn't something worth getting stabbed over.
Cersei just hated him.
http://66.media.tumblr.com/281a46b4f...zo2_r2_250.gif
ow ow, theres another thing i dont understand in this big picture:
when Jon was born, why didnt Ned just tell Cat the truth?
all those years Catelyn hated Jon because she thought that Jon was a bastard from Ned.
so i dont understand why he didnt tell her that he is in fact his sisters kid?
That would lead to questions about who sired Jon. Remember, her being kidnapped is what sparked Robert's Rebellion in the first place. Robert was going to kill any and all heirs of Targaryen he could find and it was feared that Jon would be killed as well (assuming that the R+L= J is true).
Poor Bran, only used to flesh out Jon's and the Night King's backstories. Hopefully he has a bigger role to play. He is the rightful heir to Winterfell, after all.
The Hound's story didn't really have a conclusion. Was it just to show he's alive and the BWB are still around?
I wonder if Brienne and Pod are still rowing. Maybe they will meet up with Gendry. They had that great scene where they saved Sansa but otherwise didn't have a whole lot of use this year.
Cersei is not happy to be on the throne. She knows she is over. She has lost all of her children through her own doing, and she destroyed the sept in an act that was complete self destruction. She was backed into a corner and set out to take down as many people as she could with her.
Ned didn't tell Cat because he promised his sister he would keep Jon's parentage a secret.
She whispers to him not to tell their father (I think, it could be don't tell Robert who the father is) because he'll kill Jon.
If Lyanna was kidnapped, Jon would be killed out of vengeance. If Lyanna was in love with Rhaegar and went with him willingly, she not only brought shame on the Stark house by having bastard, but thousands of people died for her choice, and the Targaeryen dynasty was all but completely destroyed. Jon would be killed.
Also keep in mind Cat and Ned hardly knew each other then. By the time he trusted and loved her enough to tell her, I think it would have created more problems than solved. But ultimately Ned was a man of honor, and he was bound by honor. This time it just happened to be his sister's and not his.

according to the prophecy Cersei will be killed by the Valonqar (translated: little brother) could aswell be Tyrion but at this moment it seems to me alot more likely that Jamie will do it. he is the 2nd that got out of the womb so he is the younger brother, even if its just with a couple of minutes
Sansa should have been Queen in the North, then all the main areas would be ruled by women! (except Iron Islands but that won't be for long)
Your wish, dear Lady, is my command.

Daaaammmn that episode. The really nailed it with the music on this one. Everything was just epic.
Don't even know where to start - Arya, the White Wolf, Cersei being ruthless Queen Bitch again, Sir Davos finally letting the Red Woman hear what he thought of her. In some ways that was quite a bad Game of Thrones episode because they don't usually leave me feeling so satisfied.
Margery though T_T
Oh and I wonder how many takes it took Sophie Turner to get "Winter is here" just right. Must've been hard not to smirk having been giving the jackpot of all Game of Thrones one liners.
I'd also just like to add that I thought that Tommen's death was so very sad, and even at the end he was such a gentle soul. To the way he took off the crown and just placed it down. The direction of this episode was just... perfection.
What a great finale. I've rarely been so happy with an episode.
The only thing that left me a little disappointed was that I thought Margaery deserved a better death than a secondary (most likely) target of a mass killing. Though I suppose we didn't see her die... Other than that, oh man. Jamie is SO killing Cersei next season and fulfilling her prophecy. Her outfit though. So regal.
Sam. Bless his heart <3
They've completely given up on showing people traveling, haven't they. People just pop up all over the world from one scene to the next xD I mean, there's little to no guarantee that story arcs are shown chronologically in relation to each other, so it's not so much that it's necessarily unrealistic, as much as taking effort to suspend one's disbelief about it. It's all worth it for that Arya scene, though. Maisie Williams nailed it. Arya is so messed up by now, and it shows.
I'm really curious how the North and Dany's merry band will align politically. It seems like they share more goals than they have opposing ones, so it'd probably be in their best interest to cooperate, but we'll see. Also very curious about what Sansa's going to do now that Jon was suddenly raised above her. It clearly doesn't sit perfectly well with her, and she seemed highly tempted by Littlefinger's suggestion, minus the romantic part. Perhaps Jon will go for an alliance with Dany but Sansa will stand for an independent North? Or the other way around? Can't wait for next year.
I'm interested in seeing how Arya Handles the news of her siblings* taking the north back and exacting revenge on the Boltons.
Everybody keeps saying that Sansa and Jon are gonna have issues, but through the episode it seemed to me that Sansa was trying to get Jon to be exactly what he ended up being. She told him she considered him a Stark and said he should have the Lord's chambers. I think she backs him on this.
<3 Arya
Varys' line about fire and blood was simply perfect.
smurf YES DRAGON LADY COMING TO smurf trout UP
Poor Daario.
I miss Ghost.
Hahahahahaha. Tommen.
I can't wait for Jaime to kill Cersei.
"Did they suffer?"
Though I'm more interested in seeing this conversation:
Sansa, "I fed Ramsay to his own dogs."
Arya, "I fed Walder Frey his own men."
Sansa, "..........................."
Jon, "What the smurf happened to you two?"
Also, Arya/Jon reunion is gonna be a tear jerker. Assuming her next stop is Winterfell and she doesn't set off to cross more names off her list first.
Yeah, i don't get the predictions of sansa and Jon issues in the future. They were totally on each others side throughout this episode and she seemed genuinely happy that he was named King.
I really can't keep track of Walder Frey's trout anymore.
Now I don't have to.
To be fair, most of Walder's men are his sons.
Is The Mountain a White Walker?
So many deaths, I kinda feel like they just rushed them all in a way. Not complaining, just wondering if it might have been better to split some of them into earlier episodes somehow. Still, damn. RIP a crapload of people. Did Varys really get to Kings Landing, then Dorne in that short a time? I can see Melisandre meeting up with some other gang now. Maybe Arya!
Is Tyrion proper getting into Dany or is it just me? And how will Dany react to "King in the North" Jon Snow?
Pycelle, really felt like he was going to have a neat twist in his story but nope.
Melisandre is on Arya's list as the 'red woman'. The Lord of Light better tell her to avoid Arya like the plague.
Even though we saw it coming, Cersei's wildfire plot was beautifully conveyed on-screen. Definitely one of the best sequences of this season. Cersei went full darkside this episode, and it was brilliant. Awesome outfit, too.

Yep same.
After her pushing Littlefinger away during his advances about "let's share the Iron Throne baby" I took her look at LF, during the gathering, as more of a concerned "what's going to be his next move" than an annoyance at Jon. The north rallying behind Jon is more of a thorn in Littlefinger's ambitions than hers, and I think she's well aware of that.
Yeah, the more I think about it, that story progression would kill Sansa's character (I don't mean literally) and I don't think even D&D would be that bad. Though LF is going to find out Jon isn't the same as Ned if he pulls the same trout with him. Ned tried not to hurt people when carrying things out and playing the game. Jon will straight up cut trout down when necessary, so LF may be biting off more than he can chew with Jon.
Though Sansa might be the one to put a knife in LF's stomach thus breaking Jinx's heart forevermore.
Good question. Not sure the powers that reanimated him are the same as what created the walkers. They certainly don't seem to be the same as whatever powers the Red priests have to bring people back to life.
I don't think he went to King's Landing. I'm pretty sure that's the last place he wants to be. Meereen to Dorne and back in that time is a magical journey though.Quote:
Did Varys really get to Kings Landing, then Dorne in that short a time?
He likes her, for realz. I don't think he wants to smurf her, if that's what you mean.Quote:
Is Tyrion proper getting into Dany or is it just me?
She won't like it. More interestingly, how will Jon Snow react to it? He seemed quite surprised at the reaction at the summit. I'm not sure that's what he wanted. Jon just wants to kill the walkers. He may accept this title to rally the men to the cause but I don't think he'll ever believe himself to be a king.Quote:
And how will Dany react to "King in the North" Jon Snow?
y'all i'm pretty salty about sansa turning littlefinger down :mad2:
Also, the music in King's Landing. Holy moly! All of it was just...amazing. I really like the choir singing during Pycelle's murder. It's so discordant but in such a savory way.
Man, I actually sat down during break today to watch the opening scene again. It's so freaking good. I honestly think that not only is this my favorite episode of GoT ever, but that might be my very favorite scene.
Agreed. If these songs land on YouTube or they release the musical score I'm gonna listen to them all on repeat.
In my head I kept calling it The Ballad of Cersei.
smurf littlefinger.
It was truly amazing.
I don't expect Jon and the north to have much to do with Dany's invasion and takeover of King's Landing. I think they'll just hang out while it happens, then afterwards they'll all be together to deal with the white walkers.
Oh, wow. I looked at that post earlier today too and then forgot about it.
Thanks.
Why will there be drama between Jon and Sansa? Because it's Game of Thrones. It's not going to have several episodes of them skipping through the Godswood being happy together while flipping Littlefinger off. There needs to be drama and tension, that's what it does.
But honestly? Just look at the foreshadowing and how the writers are setting it up. With Sansa not telling Jon about the Vale Knights, Brienne asking Sansa why she didn't trust Jon, Jon making a clear point about how they need to trust each other and then that Littlefinger look at the end, the show is beating you over the head with it.
Just jumping on that 'damn that music was awesome!' bandwagon. It was just so haunting throughout the King's Landing sequence. And it was helped as well by excellent camerawork.
Despite my Baelish bashing for my own personal amusement, I think if Sansa had to kill him for any reason it could be made into a sad scene. Say what you will, Baelish watched over her, took care of her, and took her under his wing, so there's a bond there. On the flipside, Sansa betraying Jon would be just as heart-breaking, so there's merit to choosing either path. We won't know what the writers have planned until next year. I only don't like the sound of the latter because I haven't seen the would-be execution. Right now we're simply interpreting scenes differently, and that's the beauty of art. I certainly see where both sides are coming from.
I think it's a lot more like Baelish groomed her, tbh.
Also, I kind of have issues with the Arya stuff. I found it almost like she was just thrown in there so we could have Arya in the finale. So she's jetpacked back to Westeros, apparently killed the Frey sons off screen (another off screen killing). Found time to get a face to dress up in (originally I actually thought it was a Dornish assassin after Jaime). Like, hooray Arya killed Walder Frey... but overall I felt a bit let down by it really.
My assumption at first was that she was working with Jaime. Nope, it's Arya.
Which means not only did Arya kill the Freys, but she killed a probably innocent woman to get her face. Arya's been a little psychopath since season 2, but it's starting to reach the point of not even being able to like her. Like, there's nothing sympathetic or admirable about her left.
I think my gif can suggest some of those traits were in her even as far back as season one. Look at those eyes. The girl wants blood.
But it's like... so much of it is off screen too. She killed the waif off screen, now she's killed the Frey boys off screen. It's all a bit.... nonchalant to be honest.
I agree, like I've always wanted to see a strong kick ass Arya, but right now I feel like shes headed down a very dark path. She carved up and cooked her victims to feed to their father - that is smurfing sick.
Yeah, the quantity of off-screen deaths are getting kind of silly.
Heh, Arya went Sweeny Todd on Walder.
Oh she's turning into a crazy person and that completely fits with the world and what she's had to do to survive.
Also the timelines aren't happening all at the same time. The Arya Timeline didn't necessarily all happen this season. She could have already been back to westeros when jon was revived. IT's just how they're showing it to us. They've just eliminated travel time now when showing us characters. Travelling is boring so they just don't show it anymore.
I didn't think this would need to be said but clearly some time is passing off screen and between scenes considering Varys sailed to Dorne in the last few episodes and sail back to Mereen with Dornish and Tyrell ships. If Arya didn't have enough time to get back Westeros and make a move in the Frey's while all of that was happening then that'd be ridiculous.
And i don't see the big deal about Frey's sons dying off screen when the end result is seeing him find out they were cooked into his pie. They barely had any screen time to begin with and no one gives a crap about seeing them get offed when it's their father we want to see get killed. Showing their deaths would actually ruin what was a great death scene.
Not that there was any shortage of deaths in this episode that happened on screen.
Yeah, the timeline is even kind of disjointed in the books, too, so the source material doesn't help. If the alternative is more filler to show travel (like in previous seasons) I'm okay with the time skips. I think we're only noticing it more because it took them six seasons to basically go, "Smurf it!"
I didn't mind seeing Arya going all Procne and Philomela on the lord. The real question is whether the girl staring at Jaime was already Arya, or did she kill that girl and steal her face.
thats bloody amazing <3 ty
when i got back to this forum there were 3 more pages, so i havent bothered to read it all..

That is horrible to try and look at. D:
All those lines curving and twisting. Smurf that graph!
I wonder if Bran will get back and be able to tell Jon that Dany is his aunt.
Well I certainly don't think Bran will stay north of the wall regardless. Not a place to hang about, really!
Yeah, the fact they made a point to say the wall has magic keeping things out pretty much confirmed Bran is going to be the reason it comes down.
Nice job breaking it, hero.
I'm more wondering if he'll get there before or after a possible wedding that possibly ends without death,or if he'd spring the news on them after the honeymoon.
Not that it will happen, but it could.
Jon/Dany -gets married-
Bran: btw you're related.
Jon: What?
Dany: Of course...
