I think more than one person there was stoned out of their minds.

nope even the stoners get emberrased and hope no one else sees them when that scene plays... though the laughing is not supposed to be real, they're obviousely faking it to break the tension since they laugh for real afterwards when the rest of the party is giving them "WTF!" looks...

Plus, I can't take any list seriously that actually thinks Final Fantasy XII is badly written, especially next to Final Fantasy IV or VII or Tactics.
