The Voice Acting thread

(SPOILER)Well, then accent is supposed to be from the same place, you see. So it would make sense for them to have the same accent. And... they don't. Oh, never mind. Don't worry your pretty little head over it, I'm certainly not bothered, as I said, I find her accent exotic.

I don't think too many people were actually criticising her accent, we were just discussing the voice acting and trying to place it. You know. Discussing voices and voice actresses and voice acting in a voice acting thread.

She doesn't have an Australian accent or a British accent or an American accent, she has a Final Fantasy accent!

The point is the accent is inconsistant in most of her different parts in dialogue, if you ask me. And it drives me nuts...:(

I've just started the game (on chapter 3) but so far vanille is annoying not just the voice but the girly little run that she does. But anyway I was going to say that the only voice I had a problem with was Snow, probably not helped by all the cheesy hero lines but doesn't he sound like an American in one of these old war films? I mean the bad ones. As someone else said (i would quote them but i don't know how) about Final fantasy accents, I've never thought about whether Vaan and co were American or English or whatever because its Final Fantasy. But Snow sounds so American that its just weird. Probably offended the whole of America now.

I've actually been talking to my acquaintance from Australia about Vanille's voice and he said it was very consistent with the Southeast Australian accent.

Tell your acquaintance I personally appreciate her expert input. You complainers can all go suck an egg!

Yoseph Shlups, I think Vanille's accent is awesome and suits her perfectly so I'm liek ttly in support of you here.

I think the voices are very well done. They've come so far from FFX. Lightning, Snow, and Sazh in particular are well voiced.

Vanille is the only one who bugs. It sounds like an Australian person trying to do another accent and not doing a good job of it. I'm only on chapter 4, but (SPOILER)my guess is that she has a different voice on purpose because she is from Pulse.

I like Vanille's accent but her battle dialogue is annoying. xD

I've been really impressed with the voice acting so far. I do have some reservations with vanille though. It's not that her actor did a bad job, I'm just not a huge fan of the overly cutesy/girly personality she has, and her voice really reflects it. It's not that I dislike her totally as a character, her voice just annoys me at times.
