Now when I say influenced, I don't mean influenced like Romeo and Juliet "influenced" New Moon.

Trailer was a tad underwhelming. Looks exactly like GTA IV, even less of a reason for this to be a fully numbered sequel. Gameplay should be nice though if they bring back all of the stuff there was to do in SA, especially turf wars ^_^
Only on the internet will consumers defend the companies who rip them off.
They have similar settings, themes, character archetypes, and plot devices.Quote:

Sorry I guess I'm just used to my games having to worry about things other than graphics, because they are actually games and not movies. :shobon:
Hey bolivar if you google search "xbox 360 v ps3 gta iv" you will learn a startling truth.
have you done it yet? Ok, firstly I have to say "PLEASE DON'T KILL YOURSELF!" because I know you are considering it right now. You have plenty to live for. What about the next Talky McTalking game? Or that one shooter that's universally acclaimed as being better than Halo and Gears and Serious Sam? KillerZone 3? I think? It's probably better than that one Jurassic Park game from 1994 too. You had to run around in some underground tunnels and raptors jumped out. It was dark as tit. I always preferred the third person levels myself, although I could never convince Lex to come with me. Would you know how to do that, Bolivar?
To conclude: heh heh you like a babby console for babbys :smug: babby.
Funny how one brief comment, with a joke disclaimer, provokes discussion about my suicide. I guess it's true what they say:
"Only on Xbox 360"
(^ that's a joke, too)
Thread ruined
I hope you guys are happy
Bolivar has that effect. :kakapo:
I got GTAIV on Steam (PC) with my beasty machine, though I haven't loaded it up yet. I only got it because it was dirt cheap - as in I probably could have paid with dirt and they would have made more profit.
The only GTA I've played is the first one when it came out. Which was pretty fun! I guess I really need to jump in to IV and check it out.
Here is a startling fact: Games released on Xbox 360 MUST reach full 1080p graphically. Games on the PS3 must only achieve a mere 720p comparing graphics is not exactly a good idea for the PS3 gamer in that regard. Though I will admit certain titles on the PS3 are fully 1080p the vast majority of multi-format titles are not.
As for GTA V I might get it I might not, find myself gaming less these days.
Are you really arguing about graphics based on resolution? Here's a nice startling fact for you, none of the games people hail as looking so damn good on either the PS3 or 360 run at a native resolution higher than 720p. Both essentially use hardware upscaling to reach 1080p. The only difference as I understand it is that Sony left the hardware upscaling as an option for developers to use or not at their discretion.
But really, resolution is such a small part of the graphics equation, and like all the other parts, dependant on proper optimization that arguing about which is superior based solely on that is silly, especially based on multiplatform titles.
If we're going to judge each system on their ability to output at a native resolution of 1080p then they both suck more than GTA4 did (just to get it back on topic. :D).
and also, I was joking.
But honestly I am a bit surprised at MILF's comments on the graphics, considering I don't think the trailer really looked all that great. We had 3 big PC developers debut their brand new engines on consoles this year (Crytek's Cry Engine 3 with Crysis 2, id's id tech 5 with Rage, and DICE's Frostbite 2 with Battlefield 3), not to mention the Witcher 2 on PC, Gears of War 3 on Xbox 360 and Killzone 3 on PlayStation 3. There's a lot of incredible looking games coming out in this day and age, defying all logic with how they're able to continuously push the boundaries of now 5 and 6 year old consoles.
But I don't think an update of GTA IV's engine is going to be one of them.
That too. I just like telling Iceglow when he's being silly. Not sure why everyone else is insisting on carrying on a non-argument though.Quote:

Typical Sony fan takes everything way too seriously of course :greenie:
Me, neither.
So R* issued an official announcement:
Grand Theft Auto V: The Official Announcement | Warp Zoned
Other than the usual "largest and most ambitious" boilerplate, it's confirmed to be in the present day, only Los Santos and surrounding countryside is confirmed, and multiplayer will indeed be returning :bounce:
No word on platforms and people are curious if this ommission means more than it seems. Like, are they saving up for a big Wii U announcement and this'll be the first GTA on a Nintendo home console, or even will this make it to next Microsoft/Sony consoles? Or are they going to pull something really crazy and put this on iOS? I think that'd be lame, but they are making a push with GTA III anniversary on it.
