I like how you don't say WHY you think Hip Hop is better than Rock, you just say it is. Call me old fashioned, but I like music that requires talent. I enjoy synth-pop like Depeche Mode, but that's about as poppy as my tastes run (with an exception for really good singers). I don't like rock bands that don't have a good talented vocalist, which means I don't like any Hardcore or Metal.
Oh my god. I found someone a lot like me. I crave good vocal talent, since I love to sing. That's why I love Christina Aguilera, even though her music isn't that great.Quote:

Rock rocks over hiphop anytime!!
Evanescence are better than any hip hop band good vocalist music and stuff like that even Guys like Alice Cooper are great metallica good
but Eminem is alos very good
This has pleased me greatly. Amy Lee has an amazing voice, which to me, more than the great piano, and the rest of the instruments (which to be perfectly honest, the guitarists in Evanescence aren't great. 'Tis the truth. I'm hoping now that Evanescence has a new guitarist, they get better in the guitar area. We'll see on November 5th, the release date of the new Ev CD) because the main focus in the band is Amy's beautiful voice.Quote:

hip-hop > rock WOULD be true, that's if hip-hop wasn't hip-hop and rock was the "chewed up" grumblings of a strangely fertile and toothless old man in a wheelchair
oh wait
I say they're even though I have been with hip hop longer. Actually I say rap/ hip-hop beats rock by 4 hairs...
some1 clarify for me the subtle differences between rap and hip hop.
also, when 2pac was still around ruling the music scene (God rest his soul), his albums won awards for r &b AND rap. how is this possible?i never heard an ounce of r&b in 2pac. maybe the beat..but that doesn't constitute the genre...
basically, people have different moods and different emotions at different times. when im depressed or i feel overly aggressive, i tend to listen to hip hop/rap. when im in love or have been hurt emotionally, its emo/rock for me.
oh yah. hip hop>rock. tho im into the whole emo thing prolly almost as much. hip hop and rock are basically teh same thing, whether ppl like to acknowledge it or not....especially emo;they just use different mediums....
ie:hip hop:killing other ppl
emo:killing themselves.
:rolleyes2
If it wasn't rap it'd be something else, the large majority of these people are idiots and they need something to follow. And if rock had become the favour of choice of the violent idiot, what's to say the rest of us wouldn't be listening to hip-hop because we wanted a change from that which was flooding the mainstream?Quote:
