Well, this is the one flaw of America, if you can call it that. Not that America has a lot of stuff, but that Americans in general judge their whole "worth" as individuals by the sheer amount of stuff they have.Quote:

Well, it depends on the degree of the anger/hatred and the actual offensive opinion. Taking for example the French thing. It's way out of proportion to what has actually happened. France merely isn't joining in on Iraq. They aren't funding the insurgency. No French public official has said that he wants Americans to die. Yet some Americans hold the French people in utter contempt. They'll have fliers stating that the French are wimps who never won a war. there's an official Boycott France thing going on too. It would be reasonable if france was actively aiding the insurgents (they aren't) or something equally hanous. But they simply disagree.Quote:
Yes, there's nothing shallow and jejune about disliking people as indivuduals because of views they hold, rather than because of who they are.Quote:
they consist of a higher percentage of people i don't like than most ther countries because of their views etc. but i don't associate scum with american.
On the whole, Americans seem to be much more down to earth people, a bit more practical. We're generally good. We have flaws as any other country would. I think we're a bit nieve to the ways of government. I think the system is pretty currupt, but most people trust the government to always be on the good side.
