Also if someone could explain to me the subtle intricacies of JPG file sizes that'd be great. I fail to see how I could add more colour to a 9k JPG file, and it go down to 3k.
JPG doesn't have a very wide color range, so it tries to mix the colors in the tiny gridsquares you probably have visibility turned off on to recreate the colors. This often causes colors to change after saving and also strange lines to appear in the JPG. The mixing of the colors causes it to compress. That's why if you constantly save a jpg over and over again after adding something it will continuously look worse and worse after each saving.

That's why I've made a point to have two pictures, one in Bitmap format which I add the pictures do, and one in JPG format which I save over everytime I update the picture ;)Quote:
