There's no possible way for me to chose one, so I'll go with these three:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Elite Beat Agents
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Disgaea 2.
FF XII a distant second.
Suikoden V and Dead Rising are tied.
With college and other things I don't have either the money or time to play many games at the moment and most of the ones I've played were from over a year ago!
Anyhoo the two outstanding games for me this year are both Dragon Quest VIII for the sheer retro feel the game had and Shadow of the Colossus for just being simply one of the most beautiful games ever released. I live in Europe so these would count.
Suikoden V. :D
Kingdom Hearts 2
I like NFS Carbon as a racer
Final Fantasy XII
Tales of the Abyss
Final Fantasy V Advance
onyl games of 2006 i played were KHII which was awesome and FFXII which was awesome. all hte other games i polayed this year from from other years.
I've been really slow on games last year, the only new one I've played was Space Empires V (and only its demo too), and I liked it a lot, but whether I can call it my favourite out of only one is a mystery to me ;)
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey wins, hands down. Even with its flawed combat, difficulty and stealth sections. The worst thing about the game is how it ended like an episode of Lost. But the story, music, characters, graphics, settings and music were unlike anything else I've seen before.
It's absolutely overflowing with imagination. Zoë Castillo has more depth to her character than anyone from Final Fantasy. The music was rich, dramatic, and subtle. The story was sheer brilliance.
I've never played anything like Dreamfall before. And I probably never will again. It was a unique and amazing experience.
FF XII and Resident Evil 4
When this thread was active I hadn't played Twilight Princess yet, and now that I have I'm going with that.
