Thank gods that's over. This role was difficult for three reasons:
1. I think Jester is the worst thing that can be put in a mafia game. Seriously. I'd rather have a 4 recruiting roles than a Jester.
2. I went on vacation and skipped the first three days. I still haven't read a post from those days, except the death posts.
3. For some reason another player was told I was a Jester on night freaking one. Wtf is up with that!
Without that stuff it probably would have been easy. I was a Jester in ed's game too. So that's too games in a row. :(
I really don't know why I was killed, unless there is a Vig in play. I could have been quite an asset to the mafia. Who do you think Peter would have voted for when there was 3-4 people left?

I think Record Keeper is perhaps the most ill conceived and unbalanced role that has ever been introduced throughout EoFF's mafia playing history. I... I just don't know what was up with that role. Giving away the exact specifics of three non-vanilla roles? Including the godfather? Man oh man. And on top of that, the Record Keeper didn't even die when he targeted the paranoid gun owner. Jesus christ. >_>
Also, complete fail on the Mafia's part for killing Pettigrew. We would've helped you in the end if we could.

Also I think EoFF needs to get over its current roleclaiming fixation. There's a reason why it's told to you in a private message. Because it's nobody else's business. Keep your mouth shut, unless you've picked up a fair few votes, or if you're an investigative role and have found some dirt.
I guess there's a few outside circumstances though. My vigilante claim in Video Game Character mafia was pretty much to take control of the town and make myself leader. Attempts to do so verbally the previous day were met with me nearly being lynched, so damnit I had to control them with violence! That and of course it would be obvious when I started shooting people in broad daylight that something was up, so I figured I should let them know in advance.

But then Voldemort's investigation came back innocent and I only had Snape to convince people to lynch (saving Remus until we actually had an investigation). Then Snape was innocent (my jaw actually dropped when I read that) so we really had to roleclaim or face a lynching.
Still, we lasted WAY longer than I thought we would, and helped weed out 3 mafia, and were 3/4 on our mafia investigations (I don't even know who we investigated last night - I gave Lekana my thoughts via PM and then had to leave work - so we might be 4/5). All in all, fairly badass.
It was an entertaining first game for me. I still want to see Snape's role description, though.
Remus was good, but him defending Dudley at first despite all the reasons to lynch him gave him away (and contradicted his other attempts at being reasonable and helpful). Though it doesn't surprise me at this point that NO ONE ELSE found him suspicious until our roleclaim, since obviously we're just better than you all. :cool:

I definitely agree that it would be a good idea for the game mods to keep the setup to themselves. Knowledgeable people yapping to current players outside of the game could easily change a game around, which is no fun (I'm a big fan of the "game discussion only in the game thread" rule, which apparently wasn't instituted right away for some reason).
I don't know much beyond our last investigation results. Now that I'm gone, my commentary is vague and superficial. But I have to keep myself entertained somehow. :p
