ahh i dunno, Buster Sword? Zack uses 1 to help cloud I suppose. No idea about pupils though :P Zack and Cloud are 2 of the same kind. Both Exposed to Mako and in experiments at Nibelheim.

Enemy Skill Materias?
Enemy Skills are involved.
chocobuckle?
L5 Death? I'm so lost.... I'll never get another riddle!
Not L5 Death.
white wind at low HP? it takes long to heal yourself completely but you get healed.
Does it have anything to do with Death Force or Dragon Force?
ahh!
i guess the "two of the same kind" are the command materias "manipulate" and "enemy skill". you use manipulate to help enemy skill.
i guess it is mastering the enemy skill materia.
edit: by the way, scratch my last post.
Anything to do with using ???? then White Wind? I don't know how having patience would have anything to do with it though.
Not White Wind.
Yes and no, in that order.
It's not mastery of E. Skill, although I do like to fill them up completely.
It's not ???? nor White Wind.
Does it have anything to do with mastering Manipulate?
Manipulate materia is not involved.
Repost:
Two of the same kind
Use one to help the other
Patience is still required
But with rewards for pupils
Is it Shadow Flare?
Using the Cursed ring with Death Force?
1. Hmm, Im not sure how the first line would fit in...
2. Death Force makes the Cursed Ring more easily usable
3. You have to wait for the counter to run low enough so Death Force is still in effect when the sentence runs out
4. Cursed Ring increases your stats by an amazing amount.
Death Force with Roulette.
You are protected from Death but need patience for the attack to land on the enemy?
edit (although I just found out roulette will still kill you even with death force lol)
Correct!
Although in my game Death Force not only protected me, but could protect the Death Dealer from Roulette. That meant I could learn it on all three party members in one encounter.
Patience is still required, since the target of Roulette is chosen at random.
On a side note I've been curious to see if Death Force makes the Kiss of Death item that DD's drop worthwhile.
I look like 2 others,
That is because I've changed,
Find me at the 4th,
and your death can be arranged.
Jenova?
Sephiroth.
I look like 2 others, <---- Bizarro and Seraph Sephiroth.
That is because I've changed, <---- Obvious - he changed into them.
Find me at the 4th, <---- The fourth of the final battles is against the real Sephiroth.
and your death can be arranged. <---- They can protect Gaia from Meteor.
:P
no. But I love the way we always interpret these things in our own way. This riddle is exact to what it is. No deviations or liberties :)
edit:
And it is Sepher Sephiroth (Bizarro is actually Rebirth) ;)
Your guess is actually very good, it is just that part of the riddle is very literal as you will see
Reeve / Cait Sith then?
Oh and by the way, "Safer Sephiroth" is a translation error - it's actually "Seraph Sephiroth".
Not reeve, and I believe that it is "Sepher" you know...
Seraph is his design. The name is Sepher, see my translation page.
Break-Off.co.uk - The Forum For Snooker Debate • View topic - Retranslation project - FF7
You can't get Seraph out of the Romaji Sēfa
>
[
Safer Sephiroth
Sēfa Sefirosu
Sepher Sephiroth
This one always gets attention. Firstly, Sepher Sephiroth is inspired by the Seraph Seraph - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
But Sēfa does not make Seraph. This is a misconception. The Japanese translates to either Sefer or Sepher (both are ok) and is Hebrew/Kabbalistic (as is Sephiroth)
Sephirot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sefer Yetzirah - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sefer Torah - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I am told by Gemini that Sepher is closer than Sefer and since Sephiroth is spelled by "Seph" it seems much more logical. Therefore, Sepher Sephiroth is the name. ]
Epic debate here... but not the thread for it. And GREAT! I just forgot my guess. I'll be back!
is it Pollen Salta? She has the same character model as Jemnezmy (Temple of the Ancients) and Snow (Great Glacier) But she has different colors that them, so she looks different, If what I heard was right, doesn't the pc version of Final Fantasy VII have 4 disks? If so you meet her in the Northern Crater, which is on the "4th" disk, and she causes confuse on you so you could kill yourself.
If I'm wrong about the pc version having 4 disks, I'm sorry. I've never played that version.
Bahamut ZERO?
Nothing to do with discs that would be silly :P but the rest was a good guess tifa
[on side note, disc 1 on pc is an install disc, the other 3 are the main game, exact same as psx in play]
I demand some kind of hint! Preferably something about "4th".
Not time for hint yet :P I will check back in 3 days and see what people have said. Trust me, this clue is not vague. I haven't cheated :P
I look like 2 others,
That is because I've changed,
Find me at the 4th,
and your death can be arranged.
Ohh pooey!! Three days? does that mean you won't see the guesses for 3 days or you just wont give a hint for 3 days?
No I don't hate you. I don't have unlimited guesses in my head, actually I don't even have one right now.
This is more of a Crisis Core guess, but:
Is it Director Lazard? He looks like Rufus and Angeal, but only after he transformed (or mutated or whatever). Not sure about the 4th though.
I guess I can still return every night :P
This is about FF7. Nothing at all to do with prequels or sequels. It is 100% original Playstation FF7.
Alright. I figured, but you never know.
Is it the Lost Number boss? His last stage looks like his other two cause they're a mix, and you find him on the 4th combination you put in.
ohh man I was sure that Black Moomba had it...
Barret's Sailor Suit
I look like 2 others, - He looks like "a bear wearing marshmallow"
That is because I've changed, - obvious, he changed into the suit
Find me at the 4th, - its the 4th town you visit if you skip going to Fort Condor
and your death can be arranged. - this is the one thing I have no idea about
I look like 2 others, - He looks like "a bear wearing marshmallow"
That would only be looking like 1 other besides himself.
Find me at the 4th, - its the 4th town you visit if you skip going to Fort Condor
hehe I am not that evil to you people!
so no :P
Does it have to do with Fort Condor?
I doubt it has anything to do with the forth place you visit. What at fort Condor looks like anything else too? Also some people see the forth place as Junon cause you don't really have to go to Fort Condor until later in the game. And I still have nothing to guess...
*hintwant*
Edit: hmm, maybe it's something with Cloud's & Sephiroth's katanas, Yoshiyuki, Murasame and Masamune? Maybe the "4th" is the last battle in the game, and it's the Masamune? It looks like two others, only that because I've changed beats me.
I will leave it for a few more days then I will give 1 hint. That hint will be big enough to narrow it down. I will say that the clue is very fair, and isn't something horrible like "the 4th town you visit" or "4th weapon you buy"
Tifa had the correct logic in one of her posts ;)
When tifa and cloud fall into the life stream, Tifa helps cloud gain his true self. Where there are 3 different stories which they follow. 1 of them is truth and after truth is met they all merge with the 4th bringing back Cloud's true self.
and your death can be arranged.
Now that Cloud has his true self and he cannot be controlled, he can finally fight Sephiroth without fear of being used against his comrades?
This is the only unique thing i can think of.
Yes I did, but what post was that? the "pollensalta" one? Looking back there is only one of my posts that is an actual guess. Oh well I'll figure this out eventually
Could it be Yoshiyuki? It looks like Murasame and Masamune and it's at the place where you get the 4th great materia ...
Omnislash - Cloud's 4th Limit Break.
omg is it Bahamut Zero?!?
Yes, I believe it was Rantzien
none of those ;) again Tifa's post had the correct logic :P
The clue must be answered in all areas. There are lots of "4ths" about and "deaths" but there is only a few things that can apply to "I look like 2 others, that is because I've changed" [all parts of this are literal and not vague]
Bahumut Zero does not literally look like Neo or Bahumut, even though it is a bahumut summon. Although this was an excellent guess.
You will kick yourselves when you find out what it is.
Keep guessing :D
I'm sure I might kick you too (joking), for making this. I know I know what it is, but i just can't think of it.
I've been through my guide like 20 times and I still pull up nothing.
Is it Cloud? When he changes clothes into a woman? "looks like two others" - Tifa and Aeris?!?
Im guessing cait sith so itll be guessed lol
Going by Tifa's logic suggests:
1) It's a monster that occurs in several palette-swapped versions, three most likely.
2) 4 might refer to the endgame, so it may be in the Northern Crater.
That combined with Death, suggests to me Death Dealers, which can cast the instant-death Roulette, and drop Kiss of Death, and contain the word in the names.
bg57
Ok Hint time.
Yes it is a monster but there is more logic to it than that. That is the only hint you will receive ;)
Sounds to me like Jenova DEATH. Its palette swapped with LIFE and BIRTH, and is also 'changed' into Sephiroth's form, making this the literal reason they look alike.
I can't think of a sensible reason for '4th' though, except perhaps the fourth continent, but LIFE is there too so thats not much help. I'm really only guessing DEATH over the other two because the word is in the clue.
If I'm right someone else can post... though I feel bad if it is as this really isn't solved.
nope.
Is it Hojo, when you fight him and he turns into three possible forms? The 4th might be Sector 4, I'm not sure where that Cannon was setup.
nope :P and the cannon was set up in same area as you start game before you jump the bridge. Sector 8 I believe...
at least that is the route you take to get to Hojo.
is it a level 16 Chocobo
I look like 2 others, - the Level 16 Chocobo looks like any other Chocobo's
That is because I've changed, - its simple, he changed his level
Find me at the 4th, - Use L4 Suicide
and your death can be arranged. - and he will counter with Chocobuckle
Edit: ooo 666th post ^^
again the clue isn't vague...it is quite literal
Find me at the 4th, being LV4 suicide would be a bit mean on people. ;) and specifically, I said looks like 2 others.
Is it Staniv, the fourth boss Yuffie fights in the Pagoda. His model has been used on other monsters. Not too sure about the death can be arranged bit for him though, as he is pretty weak - sounds like it suits Godo more, but he is on the fifth floor.
So I'm going to say Staniv :P
Well done my friend.
The clue is from the perspective of Staniv. It is staniv who is telling you the clue.
You meet him on the 4th level of the pagoda. You challange him, he can arrange your death, or at least he tries to. Staniv CHANGES into a monster which has 2 model textures.
In other words "I look like 2 others, that is because I've changed" is literally that he changed from human to the monster ;) In fact they all say "change" before they do battle with you.
It wasn't that hard when you think logically.
D: ohh noes. I very rarely even do the pagoda thing in Wu-Tai.... I completely forgot about that. *facepalm*
Awesome!
It took a while to figure that one out, and the ones that turn out to be so obvious in the end are the best :P
Right here's mine:
Hidden away underneath,
I can but only wait,
Greedy and searching they will come,
Unknowingly releasing me from my fate.
This prison is void of light,
Expect to find fortune, but instead you find me,
But don't worry, I cannot fight,
I only wish to be free.
EDIT: Added a second verse
is it Sephiroth? The real him is in the bottom of the Norther Cave, he has to wait till all the "clones" get there. Through the game all the clones are searching for him, and when Cloud gets there Cloud... again gives the Black Materia to Sephiroth which unlocks him once again from his "slumber", if you will, and the weapons are released.
Nope not Sephiroth, good ideas though :)
Hidden away underneath,
I can but only wait,
Greedy and searching they will come,
Unknowingly releasing me from my fate.
---------
The weapons.
Hidden in the north cave
They wait until they are needed
Greedy shinra come to the promised land
And release them
Nope. Not any of the Weapons or Sephiroth. :)
But they fit the riddle perfectly, I hope I dind't make the riddle too vague, this might be a tricky one, but I tried not to make it too easy of course.
I will no doubt be supplying hints soon me thinks ;)
ok my last guess and I won't be back for a week :)
Vincent Valentine.
Greedy wanting the safe
He is hidden in basement
Release him from his fate in the coffin
Nope not Vincent.
Hidden away underneath,
I can but only wait,
Greedy and searching they will come,
Unknowingly releasing me from my fate.
This prison is void of light,
Expect to find fortune, but instead you find me,
But do not worry, I cannot fight,
I only wish to be free.
I added a second verse to this riddle, as after consideration it is very vague and the answer is not blatantly obvious (which can be taken as a hint as well!)
That's it for now, guess away.
Is it the Key to the Ancients? It underneath the water in a cave with no light. It's a key so it cant move or fight. Everyone sees it as the Key to finding the Promise Land, and everyone want to find it cause their all Greedy (Shin-ra wants the Mako, and Sephiroth want to destroy everything). You don't really know what it does, but when you get back to the City of Ancients you learn that Aeris has summoned Holy but you must kill Sephiroth for Holy to be released and stop meteor, and all Holy wants to do is save the planet.
Good guess but nope. :moomba:
Well i personally keep trailing towards this but is it the items in the sunken plane such as double slash, hades ect.
....... I'm out of guesses now. Oh man, and I thought I was so clever. I'll figure this out!!
Lost Number?
The key to Midgar
No, it isn't any key of any kind.
Here is a hint:
The answer isn't something you would immediately think of, it is something that some people might of even missed in the game. That's a big hint, basically you don't have to even see this, and it makes no difference if you do or don't. There is no benefit from seeing it, and it serves no purpose whatsoever..

IS it perhaps the Hades Materia you find in the Gelinka?
Isn't there an empty box down a ladder in the Corel Prison in addition to that mysterious "red man" that was removed before the game was published. Is it that?
Is it the 'Last Elixir'?
Nope.
Are you allowed two guesses in one day?? Is it the huge materia from the rocket, which contains ZERO bahamut?
Is it the Magic Pot enemy in the Northern Cave?
Your on the right lines here, think of the 'prison' as more literal, ie locked away.
Also it is not anything that you would fight in a battle.
Hidden away underneath,
I can but only wait,
Greedy and searching they will come,
Unknowingly releasing me from my fate.
This prison is void of light,
Expect to find fortune, but instead you find me,
But do not worry, I cannot fight,
I only wish to be free.
HINTS:
I am not any sort of MATERIA
I am not a KEY
I am probably being too literal, but is it Kotch? Don Corneo's lackey who is locked up in the basement the 2nd time you come to Wallmarket?
Is it the mayor in the ShinRa building?
Is it Tifa when she is kidnapped and taken to Don Corneo's mansion?
No.Quote:
Is it the mayor in the ShinRa building?
Take the prison literally, ie locked in, no way outQuote:
Is it Tifa when she is kidnapped and taken to Don Corneo's mansion?
Also, 'they' who seek 'fortune' is your party (or you the player)
How about Yuffie then?
You chase after her to search for your materia and you find her inside a barrel at one point.
It wasn't that stupid cat under the staircase at Kalm is it that is in a cupboard and only walks out when you open it?
Haha - dog in fact!
Yeah, I realised after I made the riddle it was not something people would easily remember, hence the constant hints. Well done!
Hidden away underneath, - the staircase
I can but only wait,
Greedy and searching they will come, - you look in the cupboard for an item like in the other house
Unknowingly releasing me from my fate. - you let him out
This prison is void of light, - dark in there
Expect to find fortune, but instead you find me, - again, expect to find treasure, but find the dog
But do not worry, I cannot fight,
I only wish to be free.
Sorry for the kinda lame riddle, tried to make it hard, but on a rather irrelevant thing I agree :P
It's your turn The Turk
lol, ah yes a dog.
I can't think of a riddle at the moment so anybody want to take my turn?
sure, thanks^^
Bounce them back, those planet's deeds!
Tell me, why did you teach me,
when the one who's learnin's you,
do you really already know?
No idea....
The piano in Tifa's room
:D
nope
Bugenhagen?
not Bugenhagen either.
I dunno, ermmmm,, Jenova?
the 'Bounce them back' bit really confuses me.
But uhm, is it Aeris?
neither
Blue magic?
no
enemy skills?
You can use an enemies attack on them,
You learn the skills,
The materia is what actually gets the new skill
Don't know about the last line...
Yes, maybe that is the last line's meaning.
good guess, but nope. it's completely enemy skill-unrelated
Red XIII's last limit break, Cosmo Memory?
no
Edit: Repost
Bounce them back, those planet's deeds!
Tell me, why did you teach me,
when the one who's learnin's you,
do you really already know?
Chocobo Sage?
If not, hint please.:D
Edit: Actually, I don't think this is it, but it would fit sooo well if you didn't rule out Enemy Skill
Bounce them back, those planet's deeds!
Tell me, why did you teach me,
when the one who's learnin's you,
do you really already know?
Find enemy skill at his house, letting you bounce back enemies attacks.
He teaches you about chocobos...
But he can't remember crap...
And is he just learning as he goes along?
the riddle is quite literal...
between 0:14 and 0:25 of this, it should become clear, what the "planet's deeds" are.
and no, leader of mortals, neither the chocobo sage nor any chocobos in any form are involved.
Materia in general?
the question in the movie was, why magic happens when using materia.
the answer in the movie was, that it's actually a deed of the planet, called by the power of the ancients in the materia.
Reflect Materia?
I was sure someone'd say that, but that would not fit with 2nd to 4th line of the riddle.
So yes, Reflect is involved, but it is not the answer.
Is it teaching Barret how to use materia at the start when it's you yourself who is really learning?
that was a very big step towards the solution, but no.
Is it when Cloud says 'what do you want to know' in that training room in Sector 7. You can select loads of options and he will explain it. I'm sure Materia is an option.
nope, but extremely close
edit: and it's not materia in general, but reflect...
The child in the training hall that is fighting with the other child. One of the parts involving them has the boy casting magic and the girl casting Reflect
Bounce them back, those planet's deeds!
Tell me, why did you teach me,
when the one who's learnin's you,
do you really already know?
Reflect, thats all
You are teaching the child
But it is in a tutorial, so the gamer is actually learning
Cloud knows, but the gamer does not
BINGO
leader of mortals, you're up.
Yay!:D
This item found on my way to arrest,
Will help me through all I detest.
Hidden away, inside of this chest,
I think that, surely, this must be the best!
Good luck! Shouldn't be too hard...
The item that has been taken from the empty chest in Desert Prison?
No, I wouldn't be that mean.:p
Omnislash? You find it on your way towards the Corel Prison...
Nope
Great Gospel. Found in hut before orison at corel (can we get it that early?)
Not Great Gospel...
And the riddle doesn't trick you, it is literally an item that you find in a basic treasure chest.
Highwind? The Limit Break item I mean?
Elixir? You find one on the stairs to Shinra HQ if I'm not mistaken, and on my way to arrest could refer to getting caught in Shinra HQ.
None right so far.
After a few more guesses I'll explain the first line.
Missing Score.
On way to arrest Hojo maybe?
:D :roll2
nope
Princess Guard?
Poison Materia?
power source.
None right so far...
My hint is (SPOILER)The first line means the item is found somewhere between the start of disk 2 and the near execution at Junon
the ribbon in great glacier.
Yes, that is correct!
This item found on my way to arrest,
Will help me through all I detest.
Hidden away, inside of this chest,
I think that, surely, this must be the best!
It is found not long before Tifa's near execution...
"All I detest" means staus ailments
It is hidden away, and it is found in a chest (SPOILER)NO WAY!
You could probably say that it's the best accessory in the game.
Your turn Karifean, and I have a much better riddle all ready for next time...
Holy Materia, A warm up round,
Plus Normal Attack, That can be found,
Where my friend and me once tried,
But during that, I died.
What Is My Name?
Lifestream?
... Yamski (yamaski)
A friend of Holzoff (ov) who braved the Cliff's of Gaea (Gaia) and died.
Holzoff - Final Fantasy VII Characters - Caves of Narshe
Holy materia is Alexander
Normal attack? Added cut/effect?
Warm up round the hot spring?
All can be found at Great Glacier
*clap* *clap* *clap*
seiferalmasy2, your turn.
A Sum.
Number of Turtle Paradise Flyers
X
Total Number of Mako Reactors seen in the game
X
last Digit For Safe
X
Number of Weapon monsters
-
Four Cactuar specials
-
Hi Potion
+
The lying Men
= Which monster am I?
Like really.... wow this is a good one!
uh... SampleH0512?
one thing; do you classify the Mako reactor at Fort Condor, since you don't really see it?
My count of Reactors is 6.
Nibelheim Reactor
Makou Reactors 1...
...and 5 at the beginning of the game
Fort Condor Reactor
Corel Reactor
Junon Underwater Reactor
Am I missing any? I hope no...
Hi-Potion could probably be 500, yet "Four Cactuar Specials" and "The Lying Men" are mysteries to me.
oh.. then the number doubles because of the additional makou reactors in midgar (8 total, 2 already written).
So I guess that number is 12...
6*12*97*5-4000-500=30420...
I dont know what Sleeping mean means, but I doubt the value would be enough to make this a 6 digit number...
3 means E....
The only enemy with with 5 letters in thier name that starts with an E is Elena...
So is it Elena?
uhm, the last DIGIT for safe... isn't that 7, not 97?
Then it'd be a negative number, though...
6x13x97x5-4000-500+3=33,333
Answer is Vlakorados, which has 33,333HP?
*sigh*
I can only think of 13 Reactors... Adding Gongaga to Karifean's list.
I think there is actually 7 Turtle Paradise Posters, because there is 6 for the sources and one either outside or inside the actual building.
And also, the last digit for the safe is indeed 7, seifer, but I'm sure you meant last number or last code or something like that.
So 7*13*97*5-4000-500=39635
Now I need a hint on lying men
Heh heh, awesome.
Someone else feel free to take my turn ;)
The first is not interesting,
however, the second and third thing,
are found in the same area
and one unlocks another.
If you want another line for that riddle, click...
...here
The last solution, in the future,
may be the first in a process of torture
for lots of points but an eternity
still, the third's becoming a deity.
WEAPONS
nope
Dose it have anything to do with the Shin-Ra mansion safe?
Not that 3 chest puzzle in the Shin-Ra Building?
The Unknown monsters in the Gelnika?
the places where you insert the batteries on your way up the plate?
none of those.
Command Materia: The first (Steal) is not very interesting, the second (Sense) is found on Red XIII, recruiting him unlocks the third (Enemy Skill), which is everything it's made out to be in the second poem.
it's very related to enemy skills. try to find out the "first/second/third", but not related to other command materias.
Oh, and by the way, you can find Sense in front of the gate to the crushed Sector 7. Red XIII has the Fire materia.
I know, but he also has one as well. Well, then it's the Enemy Skills Matra Magic, Lvl 4 Suicide and Chocobuckle, the last can only be gained with with lvl 4 Suicide from what I'be hard.
Actually, the last part meant "leveling up" chocobuckle, but still, you got it. Jaffer, your turn.
I'll keep it simple
You minus 10 plus 10 plus 8 plus 8 equals what object?
Well that equals 16, and there's 16 summons, so is it Master Summon Materia?
I'm guessing "you" is referring to the amount of characters: 8.
then the answer would be 24, but what object could that be?
i probably shouldn't post this, because i have no idea, what the 24 could mean, but I'll do so anyway.
No
EDIT: It's a riddle guys, look at it from different angles that's all I'm willing to say.
It may not be an actual equation.
Then I'd say each of the numbers stand for a specific "thing" in the game. Like You (8) - 10 (Say, Levels) + 10 (Materias) .....
Still got no idea yet.
Does "You" equal 8 or doesn't it?
no
Your "hints" are incredibly helpful.
I hope you can feel the sarcasm because I'm doing it as hard as I possibly can.
What the heck else would these numbers refer to??
Do those numbers have anything to do with Materia?
I keep thinking of experience needed to level up.
The problem is this clue is way too vague. Numbers with no context can be literally anything....
I think it has to do with people wondering why there's numbers with no references yet its a riddle none-the-less, and they tend to think about it for 16 mins before saying w/e and going to find something else to do.
*does an 8 have to do with 8 characters? I guess the -10 could have to do with it costing $10 on the ps3 maybe? the other 8 could be the fact the most materia 1 weapon can hold is 8 maybe, and idk about the +10 maybe you rate it 10/10? idk =/
Also, someone talked about the number 24 though idk where they got that number from all this. There are 24 commands for the enemy skill materia though. random fact?
No! nonono! How many numbers are there? They go up and down and up and up. Where do you see this in FFVII?
OMG!!!!! The safe in the Shinra Mansion!!
No, again.
It has to do with your stats
is it a materia that gives -10 +10 +8 +8 to certain stats (I'm pretty sure materias gave +/- percentages but not sure so if they did then these numbers would be %)? I cant figure out which one it would be D:
I'll guess a summon materia um bahamut zero?
