Yes! Finally!
Is it possible to continue to raise a character's stats permanently after they reach the 99th level, and if so how is it done? (note this applies to all stats and I'm looking for all methods).

Yes! Finally!
Is it possible to continue to raise a character's stats permanently after they reach the 99th level, and if so how is it done? (note this applies to all stats and I'm looking for all methods).
Only method I can think of:
Raising Brave/Faith during battle by use of skills such as Cheer Up, Scream, Praise, Preach (or whatever the Mediator skill is called where you increase Faith).
its useing brave and faith upping powers and useing a delving trap
Brave and Faith yes, there are more methods, however.
Equipping a Faith Rod?
Currently we have skills and items that raise brave and faith and the delving trap, there's something else I'm looking for.
Brave Up and Face Up? :D
All right, let's see if rephrasing it will change the meaning.
"After having reached level 99, is there any way to raise a character's stats beyond what they were when level 99 was reached?"
It seems like you're looking for the stat-maxing method of leveling down on traps with jobs that have low level bonuses, and then leveling back up with jobs that have superior level-up bonuses.
Yes, but there's one more way to do it that doesn't involve traps.
Besides using a gameshark... I can't think of any other way to do that. I don't know of a non cheating method besides the traps.
THanks- BudSoda02 BudSoda02@yahoo.com
You guys are on the right track. Traps aren't the only way to get things done.
Knight abilities?
No. You guys were on the right track with what the trap does, but there's another way to do it.
There is a Monster in the Squid Man Class that has an Ability that Lowers character Lvl.
Yes, you're up Nakor.
AHHH!!!!
Ok i havn't read the whole thread so if this was a question before then... whoever answers it can still take over after me.
If you use the Squire Ability "Monster Skill" and get Close to a Tiamat What Skill does the Tiamat Gain?
Dark Whisper.
yep yep, your Question :D
Question: Although it's quite common to portray multi-headed monsters with distinct personalities for each head, this is not the case in Ivalice. Why not?
hyudra(or whatever) all the heads are single minded and are simple beasts that have no peronality
Correct! It says in the description of Hyrudras, Hydras and Tiamats that the three heads share the same mind.
You're up Lich3636! :)
list the job and name of every specific monster that joins you (srry for not posting sooner snd srry this one is pretty simple)
Are you talking about monsters that join you in the storyline? That's Boco the Chocobo and Byblos the Byblos.
wrong theres 2 more monsters that join im talking about monsters that join you (you dont need the mediator skill and I dont count the ones that sometimes appear during random encounters)
Boco the Chocobo
Byblos the Byblos
Reis the Holy Dragon
Worker 8 the Steel Giant
:)
hes right.
thats all 4.
your question.
What about Beowulf and Cloud? you dont invite them... Also T.G. Cid, or are you referring to actual monsters? well if so, Reis is only a technacality, because she is truly human in essence, but thats just a technacality....
I believe that Byblos joins after Deep Dungeon, and I know Reis and Worker 8 join during the Cloud subquest.
You can start a New Game and defeat Altima without ever encountering any of those three people. The question was worded poorly.
You have to encounter Boco, but having him join the group is an option.
Ok, I was just answering the question. I didn't know I had to give one to. lol! I don't know if this has been asked before so I'll just keep it easy and keep it going.
What is the name of the Steel Giant at Nelveska Temple.
::Jeopardy music playing:: :)
Worker 7 & mind you, not 8 like the one in your freakin party!
That is correct.
In some versions of the game when it first came out his name was Worker 7*New! Hmmmmmmmmm
Interesting. :)
Your go Khimbar!
well, if anybody knows, list in order the Zodiac stones you recieve (if anybody knows that w/o looking it up, I bow my cap to you) but on a more controllable level... How many battles must you go through until you get to Rat's Den (not including it?)
You mean Cellar of the Sand Mouse? You have to fight at least five battles before you get to it: Orbonne Monastary, Magic City Gariland, Mandalia Plains, Sweegy Woods, and Slums of Dorter.
nope, but quite close
There's six I think: Orbonne Monestary, Magic City Gariland, Mandalia Plains, a random battle at Mandalia Plains after coming back from the castle (I can't remember the cities name.) [I don't think that the random battle at Mandalia is avoidable, I haven't ever been able to go through without a random battle.], Sweegy Woods, & The Slums of Dorter.
Thanks- BudSoda02 BudSoda02@yahoo.com
yup, thsts it, sorry BG-57, but you forgot the other battle at Mandalia Plains... Your turn BudSoda02
Here's an easy one, who does Algus shoot at Fort Zeadken and why. Also a bonus question: who's holding the person he shoots? (A bit harder.)
Thanks- BudSoda02 BudSoda02@yahoo.com p.s Sorry for being so late w/ the post! (Memorial day weekend.)
Algus shoots Teta at Zalbag's order, because they want to finish off the Death Corps and she's in the way. Since she's a commoner, she's considered expendable.
Isn't it Golagros who holds her hostage?
all i can say is OMG why would anyone know the name of the dude who holds her? ROFL!!! Thats like knowing the name of the namless soldier who dies in a movie. or the new namless guy who dies in every episode of Star Trek.
I know that one too.
It's a Mr. Red Shirt. ;)
hehe, actually, he appeared in about 6 different scenes of FFT, so i would only be mildly suprised if someone knew his name....
I knew that... And seeing as this is a final fantasy site, I'm not surprised at all. Especially if you've been here a while, you'll soon see that we aren't stuped so easily. BG-57, Behold The Void and feion are FFT masters. I'd love to include myself in that list seeing as I've beaten the game front to end at least 12 times, but I can't prove it since I'm not on the site as much as I'd like to be. Or if I am I'm in the other forums...
Anyhow, a trivia question like "who's holds Teta when she's shot?" is like asking what is the capital of the USA to someone who LIVES in D.C.
(Actually I'll wager there are people living there who don't know that.)
Aw gee, that's very nice of you to say. :grinpink: Thanks!Quote:

BudSoda02 sent a PM confirming my answer so here goes:
Question: Most generic monsters are very taciturn (they say '...' if you click on their icons), but you do get some glimpse of the monster vocabulary in a few instances. Give two examples of monster languages.
well you can get 2 in the same battle in the "goblins forest" arguary woods or something the party finds a pack of goblins conversing around boco where all there words start with a G and boco (all chocobos realy) seems to speak with a wark plus if you think about it you can count all the zodiac bosses because they are monsters and you can count Sinogue and worker 7 who both talk. also i dont remember because its been a while but dosent byblos say something too?
Worker 8, Worker 7 New, and Sinogue all speak the human language of Ivalice.
Byblos says absolutely nothing and in fact joins the party with no explaination. He just shows up on your side as a guest when you take on Elidibs.
You are correct on Boco's dialogue. Could you be more specific about the goblinspeak?
yea I had a brain fart moment there plus the everything there was nongeneric other than boco and the goblins
btw the goblins speak like this "Gob, gob Gobgobgob!" i think thats exactly what the black goblin says
*sighs at not being noticed as a FFT master*
*points at Join Date*
*searches FFT forum from 3 years ago.... ohh look, me helping people.*
ohh well my absence from EoFF has caused me to
have to earn my Title all over again, W00t!
ROFLOL
anyways, yah im not the best at trivia but im proud to say I have not gone more than 3 months at a time in the last 3 years without playing FFT.
In fact I played 2 days ago, and probly will tonight.
You are correct Lich3636. Your turn! :)
Kind of reminds me of Pokemon where the monsters speak variations on their name.
Nakor, I wasn't intending to cast aspersions on your dedication to Tactics. It's nice to know fellow fans of the game since we're few and far between. :greenie:
Argh! I always seem to come in here between questions :(
ok who are all the characters Weigraf (i think thats the spelling) points his sword against in chapter 1
ohh, good question...
Damnit... i know 2 of them... id have to replay chap 1 to be sure though.
Bah Im the suxors at Trivia!
P.S. Don't worry I didn't take offence to not being noticed, its not like ive been posting here very often lately.
:D Thanks for the kind words, BG-57. :D
Wiegraf points his sword at that poor guy, Fencer, who later gets a kicking from Algus. Later W. "points" his sword right through Gustav's chest. And he motions with his sword toward the Silver Noble/Ogre, Marquis Elmdor, and says Ramza and Co. can have him back if they'll let W. get away. I'm pretty sure he also points it at Ramza and Delita after he hears of their involvement in Miluda's death. Any one else??
I think Despotus got them all.
And thanks for the compliment RedCydranth
nope you got them all Despotus your up
so how long do you guys usually wait before someone else takes over the question when someone doesnt come back?
Cuz im not sure if hes commin back anytime soon.
We generally wait about three to five days.
Yeah, thats the big thing... I forget to come back and check, and when I do, someones already answered it.
And Despotus, I feel like a heel because I totally forgot to include you in my little list of FFT masters. You definitely deserve your props.
Me -> :chop: <- Despotus
:ty: Naaah, you keep your head R.C. :bgl: You'll need it for this next question. Sorry gang, but it might require a little math. :crying2:Quote:

I'm going to arbitrarily rule that it is impossible to keep your enemies alive long enough in the first battle for you to raise your JP to inordinately high levels. Thus, if done correctly (and with some luck as far as beginning stats and abilities), it would require:
1 Opening battle
1 as Squire
1 as Knight
1 as Monk
1 as Geomancer
1 as Archer
1 as Thief
1 as Lancer
1 as Chemist
1 as Wizard
1 as Priest
1 as Time Mage
1 as Oracle
1 as Summoner
1 as Mediator
So 15 battles.
Alternately you might rule that you really can't start power leveling until after the first three battles because of the guests, so you could say 17 battles.
Yea! You Go 'Void! Sorry you didn't get the bonus cookie, though :(
But you should get something for the speediness of your answer, so here's... Nibbles... :nibbles:
I didn't want to list the extra jobs because I'm lazy.
And as far as the question is concerned...
What Monk skills (if any) have an extra "incantation" that is occassionally said when the skill is used, and what is the incantation?
see thats the kind of trivia i suck at.
I only USE like 3-4 Monk skills regularly, and also I NEVER read the little box thingy for any skill for any job..... Damnit!
If you think this is bad wait until they get into the proposition trivia.
I'll take the bonus points... He won't neccessarily (if ONLY minimum requirements obtained) be able to become a Ninja, Samurai, Calculator and of course Dancer. Oh, heres the answer to the monk question.
Wave Fist - Burning anger rising.... Burst! Wave Fist!
Repeating Fist - Fight for justice...fists of fury! Repeated Fist!
Those are the only two I ever got. I loved those quotes so much.. i made it a point to memorize my favorite spells... my favorite ability/spell quote was "Layer upon layer, make your mark now! Haste!"
lol, yah i dont read those either, i just look at the days and the reward.
I've only ever gotten those as well, RedCydranth, so you're up.
What is the ONLY way to recieve exp and jp from a dead body?
Remember the body is dead before the character's turn and after.
This will show who knows FFT!!
umm, if you raise someone whos dead you get exp and jp.
or use a phenix down.
or monk Revive skill.
I doubt its what you mean though.
If the body has to be dead before the character's turn and also be dead after their turn, the only thing that I can think of is having a dead character with Chantage or an Angel Ring (or basically the Reraise status) commit suicide on his/her turn. She wakes up at the beginning of her turn, casts a one round spell or whatever on herself and dies. Jp and Exp should be awarded for a successful hit. I can't think of another way. :confused:Quote:

Person A is dead, Its person B's turn. How does person b get experience from Person A's body? Remember person A must be dead after person B's turn.
Hint: its a 4 step process.
ohhh... i get the question...
ok this is my closest idea...
Person A has Undead Status on them while dead, from a ring or whatever, then person B Casts Death on Person A, which makes them alive because of undead. Person A has Heal-HP reaction ability equiped and because they are now critical uses it, but because of undead status it kills them.
yah im not sure if thats right, or even if it works... If no one gets it then tell us the answer plz
Does cating death on an undead "dead" unit make them arise? If so, thats news to me.
Ok, another hint. It has nothing to do with reviving the dead guy.
then i dont know how you get exp, cuz i cant think of any abilities that work on dead ppl but dont raise them...
im interested to know though :D
All i know is if you Cast Death on an Undead Unit it Compleatly Fills their HP, so i thought Maybey it would raise them... Never tried it though.
You know they should really make a pheonix down for well undead units.
It would be like Zombie Blood or something.... anyhow, I'm gonna give this question until tomorrow at this time (11:30 PM EST)
Here's the question again. What action can be performed on a dead character and still get the JP/Exp, without raising him? How is it done?
There, I reworded it better than my previous wording.
Hints: A certain status effect is needed, The dead person must be dead before and after the action.
Just a couple of wild guesses here, unfortunately, I don't have my game right now so I can't test these theories. Let me know if I'm close. ;)
1. Maybe a dead body with the Reflect status can still reflect spells directed at it? (really doubt this one though) So the spell bounces off and hits a nearby unit?
2. Or maybe you can 'Float' a dead body?
3. I'm also wondering if Damage Split would be triggered if you hit a dead character who has that reaction ability. In that case, the caster would take half of the intended damage and thus receive exp and jp.
Like I said these are unverifiable guesses for me right now. :rolleyes2
Dead guys do not have the reflect ability while dead, if you have reflect mail and you die, the reflect is not in effect until you get raised.
If you cast float on a dead person it won't float. I think if you are floating when you die, you can float dead (like Bombs dead bodies float). But again, no JP/Exp are gained here.
In order for damage split to work, you must actually hit and hurt someone. Since the person has already died, its liker attacking midair. no damage= no Exp/Jp.
Hint: Its sorta a glitch and it RARELY comes into play. I found it by accident, as any of you I assume would too, if you find it at all.
There's no way I'll be able to figure it out, I'm not familiar with all the glitches.
We'll have to try it when you tell us though, it sounds interesting.
Okay its 10 PM.. i know i said i'd give until 11:30 but whatever... heres how to do it.
get any lancer and make him/her invisible. Select an alive enemy and jump. While hes in mid air you have a few turns before he comes down hopefully. Within this timeframe KILL the targeted guy (while hes still on the targeted spot) eventually it will be the lancer's turn and come down on the dead guy. For some reason since he was invisible, the game focuses on removing the invisibility, and not whether the target was alive or not. The game awards him Exp/JP even though his/her target was dead.
new Question: I'll make it easy. What is the strongest hammer/mace/flail weapon and how can it be obtained?
Scorpion Tail isnt it? I never did use flails anyway Poach a Hyudra
Yep, you're up Lich
meh I cant think of anything so heres a easy one. Throughout the game you fight several generic units that do not have specific names (miluda and such does not count) but have different pictures and are inviteable (except one) what are the battles and classes of these characters
Your definition of easy and mine are worlds apart. Give me a few days to replay the game and I'll get back to you.
I find this easy for three reasons 1: I have a very good memory 2: I probably play and beat this game at least 3 times a year more if no good games come out 3: I take note of odd things like this
is one of them a thief at Mandalia Plains with Algus? (havent played the game in like 3 years...)
I'm not fully sure of what you are getting at because MOST characters that don't have heavt plot relevance get their names generated randomly. The only one I can remember is Fencer. He's in the Dorter Slums. As far as I know the rest don't really have specific names.
I'm a duh-face.. i totally didn't read that right...LOL. Um people with specific face but NOT specific name? Um... none to my knowledge...like GTV I'm gonna have to replay to figure that out.
Is one of them the 'underpaid' thief in the dorter Trade City battle?
BG-57 is on the right track thats one. two more to go
can you just give me a frame of reference of when the other two appear from there???
I gave a big hint on one of them Ill post the battles tommorow around this time
When they give generic units lines, they often have different character pictures. I doubt Lezales counts in the first battle in Orbonne Monastary since his name is the same every time.
Golgorand Execution Site (the archer pretending to be Princess Ovelia).
Germinas Peak (the ninja leader)?
I wasnt thinking about the archer but Ill give it to you the other character was the Squire in the second battle (hence me saying only one wasnt inviteable since theres no way you could have a mediator then)
seriosly some of these trivia are insane.
lol, i never even notice stuff like this.
Is it my turn or do we have to keep on guessing?
It's going to get more obscure as we go along since we've been running through all the more obvious questions first. Also we may start to repeat ourselves. :greenie:
go BG
Question: Name three places you can encounter Hyrudras.
Is Murond Holy Place one of them?
I think the Deep Dungeon and Nevelska temple (or however you spell it) are two.
yea, thats it, but not too sure on Nelveska, you sure??
Deep Dungeon ,Nevelska temple, and The second battle against Balk i think the map is called Lost sacred precincts
You are correct Lich3636! :)
ok this ones another odd one list all the monsters that speak english. :D this is harder than it looks
uh, Boco? the Byblos? and Reis?
boco and reis the dragon say wark and grr and byblos dosent talk
By this I assume you mean any nonhuman character that speaks in the language of Ivalice:
Zodiac Monsters:
Queklain
Velius
Zalera
Adramelk
Elidibs
Hashmallum
Altima
Steel Giants:
Worker 7 New
Worker 8
Demons:
Sinogue
Celia
Lede
Undead Former Humans
Zalbag
Balk
Generics at Yuguo Woods (possibly)
Generics at Poeskas Lake
your missing 3 i told you this was harder than it appeared i found out these 3 compleatly by accident
By accident? Does that mean that this happened during random encounters?
whoa, im like totally out of my league with guys like you........
no it was not a random encounter but ill give you a hint that will make this way easier they are monsters :D ......... ok for the real hint you first encounter this family of monsters in chapter 2 thats right its a family of generic monsters that talk its very subtle but as you can tell from my last question I notice the odd. that should make it easier
basic monsters right? well guess i'll take a crack at it uh um well huh man this is hard huh looks like im starting a new game all over again :mad2: man this is hard.
Is it used by either the Ahriman(seriously doubt it) or the Dryad family(Trent, Woodman & Taiju)?
hmmm upon reserchin if dryads could talk i found out all monsters seem to do this so now i beilive it to be something square over looked if you go to remove unit monsters ussualy with say something with ( ) around it but when i went to dismiss a uribo it didnot have () around it meaning it was speaking english which is wat fooled me but if you go to remove after a few times all monsters do this odd thing and now i feel pretty stupid so BG your up
*sigh* i'll never live this down
ohh yah
yah i always thought the (...) brackets meant it wasnt english but thats what the monster was saying.
so if theres no brackets then i guess it would be english
My next guess would have been the Ultima Demons since they cast the same Ultima Ramza can, I assumed they could chant the words to it as well.
Question: What is the hottest place in Ivalice? What are the two coldest places in Ivalice?
I'd assume the hottest would be Bervenia Volcano.
And I can only think that snow means cold, so.. Goland Coal City and Fort Zeakden.
Could the area you find Reis in count as cold? I can't quite remember the name, but it was snowing underground which leads me to believe that it's pretty darn cold.
Isnt Poeskas Lake a bunch of snow?
I can answer both questions. The underground Colliery is in Goland Coal City. So yes, it is cold there.
Poeskas Lake is not really a full lake but a dried up one, so the substance on the ground is not snow or ice, but salt.
Ah, thx for the clarification.
You are correct RedCydranth! :)
I thought it was a little strange calling the Colliary Underground levels 'underground' since you can see the sky and snow falling. I guess it's an open pit mining operation.
My turn for a question eh?
Its gonna be easy... Who raised Rafa and Malak?
oooh, cant remember his name, but he was fat!!!
Barinten.
Yes it was Duke Barinten. Go mune.
Let's see....
Elidibs' Serpentarius skill set is Dark Cloud, and his abilities (Zodiac is a summon ability) are Midgar Swarm and Poison Frog. What are the character quotes that correspond to these two abilities?
........WHAT?!?!?!?!
He's looking for the quotes to both Elidibs spells, Midgar Swarm (supposed to be Midgar Zolom, but translation died) and Poison Frog.
I remember fighting him and him casting both of those, but he didn't say the spell quotes. I'd have to replay the whole game to find out... and the Elidibs battle is a menacing one so it'd take me a LONG time to get the answer.
That's about the size of it.
*starts new game*
i mean, yea I understood the question but, who would actually *know* that kinda stuff?!?!
"Life is short! Bury! Steady Swor-- I mean, Midgar Swarm"Quote:

My intent wasn't to force everyone to start new games. I could change the question to ask for certain Altima quotes, instead (I presume you all still have save files near the end), if you would all prefer.
So... Feion's replies weren't right?
I'd love to be able to take a stab at this one; but as I said a week ago, I don't have my PS2 or my FFT right now.
That one is rough, I wish I didn't get Zodiak 2 days ago, so I could shoot a decent question off. Stupid me not saving it :(
But since I hate waiting, what item gives you both Protect and Shell?
Also, another pretty easy one, how can you get multiple Excalibur Swords!
Please don't double-post, use the edit/delete button instead.
~Void
Seeing as no one has answered the last question before Delacroix, i'll answer his. Salty Rage adds both Shell and Protect. Its a shame only the girls can use it. The guys should have had Musks or Colognes.
Orlandu starts with the Excalibur and one can be found in Mlapan.
In lieu of taking the time to get a decent question, From the point in which the game starts (forget storyline how the opening scenario is actually way after the 1st real battle of the game) who is the tenth DIFFERENT person to say something? Battle quotes like "Layer upon layer make your mark now." and such do not count.
I think he meant, as in to duplicate the swords, meaning having more that one, than rathing hastening yourself twice as faster.
Its quite simple really, you just need ramza to be knight with the ability two-swords. * i think it was sword, or hands, experimint with both* then equip the weakest shield on the left hand or was it the right? * well whatever hand is the first hand at the equip menu at the top* and equip excalibur at the right hand.
Go to the nearest castle, and do best fit on ramza, it should come up with excalibur replacing the sheild and the best weapon that castle has to offer on the other right hand. press yes, and now check your inventory screen
ohmawgawd, two excaliburs, yay!
I think im right ;.;
RedCyandranth's answer is valid, I would think, so I'd say he gets to go next. And he's already posted a question, which I'm too tired to even try to remember the answer to.
I am only going on main Characters when you start off with Ovelia praying.
Lady Knight: Agrias
Simon
Ovelia
Gaf.
Ramza
Rad
Delita
Zalbag
Alma
Balbanes?
If I am correct, What is the way of the Beoulve?
And yes, I mean how to duplicate any thing in the game. It is quite easy, and can do it with any shield/weapon in the game.
Fastest way to do it is just to make any one character a knight, if it is a sword. Equip both a sword, and a shield. Go to the fitting room, and equip a weak weapon in place of the shield. Do best fit, quit out, then you have another weapon of the one you Best Fitted for free.
Yes, its a shame that men didnt get colognes or musks, it made me mad when I got Salty Rage, but I had all male characters :P
I'll start with an easy one !!
What's the saying when you cas Cure 4? x]
Acturos it isn't your turn right now. We need to wait to see if Delacroix was correct, and if that is the case then you need to answer his question correctly before you can ask one of your own.
Oho.o... thought he was corret, wait ... wasn't his question already answered?
his answer wasn't verified, so u'll have to wait ur turn actruos... but delacroix, ur missing dycedarg in there... so i think almas is the tenth person. umm... u should put dycedarg either before or after zalbag, in which, either case, alma is the tenth person.
Well darn, I forgot all about Dye, I was going off of memory :?
iunno... but hey... does this mean i'm right?
1. Agrias
2. Ovelia
3. Simon
4. Gafgarion
5. Lavian? Alicia? Nameless? (female knight who rushed in hurt)
6. Ramza
7. Goltana's Knight (Outside Orbonne)
8. Delita
9. Male Cadet
10. Female Cadet
The answer was Female Cadet.
If you thought I meant storyline characters it plays out like:
1. Agrias
2. Ovelia
3. Simon
4. Gafgarion
5. Ramza
6. Delita
7. Balbanes
8. Zalbag
9. Dycedarg
10. Alma
So, Darkblade is the most correct, but you all were incorrect. Sorry, I never said they had to be MAIN characters, I just said battle quotes didnt count.
Since no one got it correct I'll post another one. Where is the first place you see Weigraf? Where is the last?
I believe the first time you see Wiegraf is when you go to rescue Elmdor, at the end of the mission. The last time you see him is when he transforms into Velius. Or when you kill Velius, depending on how you define "Wiegraf".
I believe the first time you see Wiegrahf is in dorter, though he is not named at the time.
Hmm. Close... WHERE is the last place you see him?
Wiegrahf42 got the first half... First person to put both halves together wins!
[QUOTE=Eternal Dark Night]the last place ive seen him is at were he turns to velius well im not to far in the game cuz i like starting new files and try to make everything perfect. one thing wigraf is just dirty i would never of toke the devils side now hes a bloodhound nice too. huh i QOUTED my self Dammit!
first we met him was in dorter trade city when he was talking to a fencer. then the last time would be when we fight velius.
Do any of you know the term WHERE is different from WHEN?
The term "Last time" corresponds with time, not location.Quote:

Where

Now, this is fairly simple.. WHERE is the first and last places we see Wiegraf?
HINT: The first location was mentioned numerous times!
First place is the slums of Dorter. And the last place is in Riovannes Castle. But I couldn't tell you which room... :p
All the battle tells you is that it's within Riovanes castle.
Boy Redcydranth, aren't you laying it on a little thick?
Hey, give me a break, I'm too lazy to look up the locations :D
I guess I should post a question. :erm:
Which non-party character wields the most powerful weapon?
*Two possible answers for this one.*
To clarify further, I'm referring to attack power; and by "wields" I mean "carries in-hand" (not thrown). ;)
The second time you take on Balk he carries a Blast gun with a weapon power of 22.
Elmdor's Masamune has a weapon power of 18.
Rofel carries a Save the Queen with a weapon power of 18.
You got the most conspicuous wielder of the mighty Blast Gun. So you are up, BG!Quote:

This is another logic puzzle-type trivia question. :greenie:
Question: What's the maximum number of Steel Giants possible?
Well that would depend on what you mean. In the game you can only see Worker 7 and Worker 8 on the battlefield at a time, but the fact that there is a Worker 7 and Worker 8 implies that there is also a Worker 1-6. However, just because we only see up to Worker 8 doesn't necessarily mean there aren't more. So, in battle the maximum number of Steel Giants is 2. Storywise, especially since Steel Giants are ancient technology, there is no real limit to how many COULD have been built, but we just don't know.
wow.. u pretty much hit every angle there BtV... by jove, i think the guy got it...
It's not 2, 8, or limitless in number.
Let me rephrase the question a bit.
What is the maximum number of Steel Giants that could function at the same time?
1
Ah yes. All right, since the Steel Giants are functioned by the Zodiac Stones and there are 13 stones, 13 can function, or 12 if Serpentarius is unable to power a Steel Giant.
You are correct! Your turn Behold the Void. :)
What attack generally proves to be incredibly effective against Zodiac Brave monsters, and what attack can be assured 999 damage against a Zodiac Brave in the right conditions?
Cloud's Climhazzard has 999 damage potential against any opponent with ≥1000 HP.
That's the first half, and the second? (Two part question)
Regardless of what your answer is, Masamune answered them both in a single sentence, that fits both halves of the question.
I suppose so. That's the problem with getting your mind locked around one answer. All right, his go.
Thanks, Red. :)
Okay, this one should be fairly easy. What's the significance of the strange level names NOGIAS and MLAPAN in Deep Dungeon?
Saigon and Napalm.
of course what those names actually signify int he context of Tactics is less clear. I guess the makers like Apocalypse Now, or the Vietnam War, or whatever.
It could be some obscure hint at something, which might give us another thread to make as lord knows we've beaten everything ELSE about this game to death already.
Seriously though I don't know of any significance to the names beyond the fact that they are those two words spelled backwards.
All the levels of Deep Dungeon refer to Apocalypse Now (or at least the Vietnam War).
Nogias is Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam.
Terminate is from a common CIA phrase 'Terminate with Extreme Prejudice', i.e. 'Assassinate'.
Valkyries is a reference to Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries', which is blasted from a helicopter during a raid on a village.
Delta is a reference to the Mekong delta, where the river meets the ocean.
Mlapan is Napalm the inflammable substance used to burn trees and villages.
Tiger is an animal common to Asia, often featured in folklore.
Bridge could refer to any number of bridges along the rivers.
Voyage accurately describes the experiences of the main characters.
Horror is a reference to Kurtz's line about 'The Horror'.
End is self-explanitory.
eestlinc and BG-57 are certainly correct in observing the references to the Vietnam War and Apocalypse Now. All I needed, however, was the observation that those two levels can be reversed in order to reveal the ideal word(s). You're up, BtV, but excellent work from the rest of you as well.
Actually I think I'm going to abdicate in favor of BG-57 on this one, I think he deserves it more than I do and I can't think of a question.
You sure Behold the Void? Thanks. :)
Question: What's the 'noisiest' Unexplored Land in the game?
Pandemonium, most likely, although it could also be the Tower of Babel. I'll go with the former.
Correct Masamune1600! :)
A whole bunch of demons howling together would be, well pandemonium. ;)
Awesome.
Let's see....
If every ally is directly from the story (no generics), what is the maximum number of characters that can learn Zodiac?
10, I think.
Ramza, Agrias, Mustadio, Orlandu, Rafa, Malak, Meliadoul, Beowulf, Reis, and Cloud.
My definition of story characters (or, specifically, non-generics) is slightly broader than that. You're close, though.
Add Rad, Alicia, and Lavian then. 13.
Good call. You're up.
What are the components necessary for the "Calculator Holy Spam" technique, in which you constantly calculate Holy.
I'm looking for equipment and abilities.
I'm not quite sure I understand the question, but I'll take a stab at it.

No skills per se, but most characters will need to be in this class.

Method
Have all the characters as Knights, or professions that allow the use of knight swords (like Holy Swordsman). Equip the party with as many Excaliburs as you can. Equip Math Skills as secondary skills. You can have each character cast Holy indescriminately and hit both friends and foes. Since Excalibur absorbs Holy, your characters that get hit will be healed.
Alternative Method
Have one character set up with Math Skills as secondary ability, the rest of the party as Mimes. Knights will not be necessary, nor will Excaliburs. When that one character casts Holy, everyone else will Mime that character's calculations of Holy.
Yep, your go BG-57.
Chameleon Robes also work in this setup, but you got at least one of the methods, so you're up.
The game says that Balbanes attains the highest rank of 'Heavenly Knight'. We never are told what skills it encompasses, but it's likely that it includes sword based attack skills (like Holy Knight or Dark Knight). It's also likely he has more sword skills than even Orlandu.
Question: What sword skills could Balbanes have that aren't already included in Holy Swordsman skills?
Since Orlandu already has the sword skills of Dark Sword, Holy Sword, and Mighty Sword as a Holy Swordsman, I imagine the Heavenly Knight would have these plus the Magic Sword skills of a Temple Knight (i.e. Beowulf) Drain, Aspel, Chicken, Break, Shock, Blind, Zombie, Innocent, Faith, Silence, Berserk, Don't Act, Confuse, Despair, and Sleep.
There are also the Draw Out Samurai sword skills to consider... but as they are not "sword" skills I doubt it.
And in my personal point of view, I imagine Balbanes might have the Beoulve family abilities that Ramza has exclusively: Scream, Yell, Wish and Cheer Up. :)
Well, as Despotus said, he'd have Beowulf's Magic Sword skill set to accompany Orlandu's abilities. It's also possible that he could have:
Destroy Sword abilities (Arc Knight Zalbag): Speed Ruin, Power Ruin, Magic Ruin, Mind Ruin.
-I like this idea, since Zalbag was Balbanes' son.
Limit abilities (Soldier Cloud): Braver, Cross-slash, Blade Beam, Climhazzard, Meteorain, Finish Touch, Omnislash, Cherry Blossom
-I find this unlikely because Cloud is not from Ivalice, but the Limits are unlocked by the Materia Blade, a sword.
Draw Out abilities (Samurai/Arc Knight Elmdor): Aura, Koutetsu, Bizen Boat, Murasame, Heaven's Cloud, Kiyomori, Muramasa, Kikuichimonji, Masamune, Chirijiraden
-Maybe.
I also like the idea of Balbanes having Ramza's specialized Squire abilities, although you should probably include Ultima. Recall that Alma can learn it in the final battles as well.
Man, can't believe I forgot about those. Definitely a good possibility Balbanes knew 'Destroy Sword' :mad:Quote:

yeah, leave clouds stuff out of it... it's not from ivalice at all..
I was just asking for 'sword skills': skills that requite a sword to excute. That would exclude Draw Out (which uses katanas) and Battle Skills (which can be used with any weapon) and Ultima and Yell, etc....
I was thinking of Temple Knight. But Destroy Sword? It sounds like a variation on Knight's Battle Skills, which are not sword-dependent.
I'll give this one to Despotus.
I'm inclined to think that Destroy Sword is like the Mighty Sword only affecting stats, but reliant upon a sword. But I've never been able to get Zalbag to use the attacks, and I'm not even sure if an animation exists for them, so I suppose we can't know for sure.
I dunno, I think I should have included the Arc Knight skills... so I'll just put a relatively easy one up for grabs. ;)
Which generic human classes will you never encounter in a random or storyline battle? (3 answers here)
bard, dancer, and mime perhaps?
if i get it right someone can take my turn.
Well that was quick, and you're absolutely right. Sure you don't want a turn, Sin Magnum?
yep im sure
Can I take the question magnum?
Gosh, seems there's a lot of confusion about who should go. So, I guess I'll post another easy one and get the ball rolling again. :spin:
The Aegis Shield raises magic attack power, right? Which shield supposedly raises physical attack power?
